  • The WLAN(IEEE 802.l1b) and Bluetooth(IEEE 802.15.1) employed on 2.4㎓ ISM band wireless networks provide complementary services within the same environments. Coexistence between the networks will be impaired, if the mutual packets are uncertainty associated the timing or gaussian distance. This paper analyzes the impact of the mutual interference on the services performance in order to develope a method of coexistence between the WLAN and Bluetooth. The analysis is illustrated by examining the symbol error rate versus signal to noise interference ratio in terms of the carrier frequency of set.

  • For efficient utilization of spectrum resources in TV white space after DTV transition, FCC allowed usage of the spectrum for CR system. The CR system is required to cognize channel usage state for utilizing the unused spectrum in TV white space which coexists various primary and secondary systems. In the meantime, as a demand for high throughput communication had been increased recently, CR systems also consider to adopt channel bonding technology, thus spectrum sensing for channel bonded system is essentially required. In this paper, we propose a novel spectrum sensing algorithm for channel bonding system using a single channel receiver. For IEEE 802.l1af signal, the proposed algorithm provide detection probability of 90% with false alarm probability 10% at SNR -18dB for single channel system and at SNR -7dB for 8 channel bonded system, respectively. Utilizing the proposed scheme, we can detect channel bonded signal using only a single receiver, therefore system overhead for spectrum sensing can be reduced significantly.

  • A low power(9 mW) highly-digitized 2.4 GHz receiver for sensor network applications(IEEE 802.15.4 LR-WPAN) is realized by a $0.18{\mu}m$ CMOS process. We adopted a novel receiver architecture adding an intermediate frequency (IF) level detection scheme to a low-power complex fifth-order continuous-time(CT) bandpass L:tl modulator in order to digitalize the receiver. By the continuous-time bandpass architecture, the proposed $\Sigma\Delta$ modulator requires no additional anti-aliasing filter in front of the modulator. Using the IF detector, the achieved dynamic range(DR) of the over-all system is 95 dB at a sampling rate of 64 MHz. This modulator has a bandwidth of 2 MHz centered at 2 MHz. The power consumption of this receiver is 9.0 mW with a 1.8 V power supply.

  • A multi-resonance antenna for wireless communications is reported. By using double inverted-L strips, the antenna demonstrated compact size (15 mm ${\times}$ 14 mm) including the ground, multi-band operation for IEEE 802.11 a/b/g/p applications, and wide bandwidth of 1.7 GHz at 5 GHz band. Good radiation features of omni-directional patterns and 1.98 and 2.29 dBi peak antenna gains for the lower and upper bands, respectively, have been achieved.

  • In this paper, four-element MIMO(Multi-Input Multi-Output) antenna operating at 5.2GHz and 5.8GHz is proposed. Each antenna element is fabricated by using inverted-L type and the isolation characteristic among antenna elements is adjusted by the distance between radiation element and ground. The designed array antenna has the impedance bandwidth at 5.15$\sim$5.35 and 5.725$\sim$5.825GHz for VSWR$\leq$3 and the isolation characteristic less than -20dB at same frequency.
