  • Since the commercial operation of Kori Unit 1 in 1978, South Korea has been at the forefront of nuclear power plant construction for nearly 40 years. South Korea have constructed 27 nuclear power plants domestically and an additional 4 plants in the UAE. Leveraging this extensive experience, the country has developed and operated a nuclear power plant construction management system with a focuse on procedures and processes development, along with a user-friendly approach. The initial nuclear power plant construction management system operated was NPCS (Nuclear Power Plant Construction System), which was based on drawing inquiries. Subsequently, a system centered on construction project management, known as NPCMS (Nuclear Power Plant Construction Management System), was established and operated. In 2009, through the export of nuclear power plant construction to the UAE, research on advancing construction management led to the implementation of INPCMS(Integrated Nuclear Power Construction Management System), which is functionally enhanced. Over time, in response to changes in the construction environment, demands from international operators, and alignment with global standards, South Korea is in the process of redeveloping its INPCMS. This aims to establish a global nuclear power plant construction management system, outlining key features and future directions.

  • This paper aims to develop the adequate quality cost model at a company which delivers ICT(information communication technology) services. One particular business unit was in the first instance selected and quality costs were then analysed at an organization level, for a department and for specific processes. Some areas were determined for quality improvement at each level and their causes were also investigated. However, the existing PAF(prevention, appraisal and failure) models reveled some limitations because the ICT services company included the different number of large and complicated business processes. The PAF model did not sufficiently highlight the detailed causes of failure costs. It did not also stimulate the relevant department's strong responsibility to improve such problems. Both micro PAF and process cost models were proposed in order to cope with this. In final, it explains the relationship between six sigma and quality costing, suggesting how to use the quality costing results as a means of promoting either continuous improvement or innovation in a case company.

  • The case company has driven the six sigma innovation programme company wide for the last seven years without any stop in spite of the CEO change. There was neither any benchmark nor the sufficient number of internal experts during the initial stage of driving six sigma. However, the company raised a lot of innovation experts such as MBB, BB and GB, thereby successfully changed the way of employees' doing work and reaped an enormous amount of either visible or invisible performances as a result of implementing the six sigma innovation programme. This paper deals with both main activities undertaken at each stage of the innovation life cycle of six sigma and their performances in a ICT (Information Communication Technology) industry. The performances are described from the four aspects of a balanced score card (BSC) and finally some strategic implications suggested.
