플라스틱 기판에 펜타센 유기박막트랜지스터를 이용한 집적회로 제작 (Fabrication of Organic IC based on Pentacene TFTs on Plastic Substrate)

  • 본 연구에서는 하부전극 구조 펜타센 유기박막트랜지스터를 이용하여 플라스틱 기판에 인버터, 링 발진기, NAND & NOR 논리게이트, 정류기 등 간단한 집적회로를 제작하고 그 특성을 관찰하였다. 제작된 유기박막트랜지스터 소자의 평균 전하이동도는 0.26 $cm^2/V.sec$, 전류점멸비는 $10^5$로 나타났으며 인버터와 NAND, NOR 논리게이트는 입력에 대해 정확한 논리출력값을 출력하였다. 전파 정류기는 1MHz의 AC 입력신호에 대해 정류효과를 나타냈으며 링 발진기는 DC 40V에서 1MHz의 발진특성을 보였다. 이와 같이 유기박막트랜지스터를 이용한 집적회로를 제작하고 특성을 분석함으로써 현재 관심이 되고 있는 초저가 RFID tag, Flexible Display 구동회로 등에 유기박막트랜지스터를 적용할 수 있는 가능성을 확인하였다.

Cholesterol Biosynthesis from Lanosterol: Development of a Novel Assay Method, Characterization, and Solubilization of Rat Hepatic Microsomal Sterol Δ7-Reductase

  • A novel assay method is described for rapid quantitation of reaction rate of sterol ${\Delta}^7$-reductase (${\Delta}^7$-SR) which catalyzes reduction of the ${\Delta}^7$-double bond of sterols. Of six different organ tissues-liver, small intestine, brain, lung, kidney, and testis-. ${\Delta}^7$-SR activity was detected only in liver (2.30 nmol/min/mg protein) and testis (0.11 nmol/min/mg protein). Using a newly developed method which employs diet-induced enzyme proteins and ergosterol as substrate, we assessed both kinetics ($K_m=210\;{\mu}M$, $V_{max}=1.93\;nmol/min/mg$) and inhibition of the rat hepatic ${\Delta}^7$-SR against well-studied cholesterol lowering agents such as triparanol ($IC_{50}=16\;{\mu}M$). 3-$\beta$-[2-(diethylamino)ethoxy]androst-5-en-17-one (U18666A) ($IC_{50}=5.2\;{\mu}M$), and trans-1.4-bis(2-chlorobenzylaminomethyl)cyclohexane dihydrochloride (AY-9944) ($IC_{50}=0.25\;{\mu}M$). Of the three well-known AY-9944-sensitive cholesterogenic enzymes (i.e., ${\Delta}^7$-SR, sterol ${\Delta}^8$-isomerase, and sterol ${\Delta}^14$-reductase). ${\Delta}^7$-SR was found to be the most sensitive enzyme with a noncompetitive inhibition of this compound ($K_i=0.109\;{\mu}M$). Substrate specificity studies of the microsomal ${\Delta}^7$-SR indicate that the relative reaction rate for 7-dehydrocholesterol and ergosterol are 5.6-fold and 1.6-fold higher than that for lathosterol. ${\Delta}^7$-SR activity was also modulated by feeding rats a diet supplemented with 0.5% ergosterol (>2.6-fold) in addition to 5.0% cholestyramine plus 0.1% lovastatin ($\simeq$5.0-fold). Finally, microsomal ${\Delta}^7$-SR was solubilized by 1.5% 3-[3-(cholamidopropyl)-dimethylammonio]-1-propanesulfonate (CHAPS) and enriched on PEG (0~10%) precipitation, which should be suitable for further purification of the enzyme.

1-Methyl Substituent and Stereochemical Effects of 2-Phenylcyclopropylamines on the Inhibition of Rat Brain Mitochondrial Monoamine Oxidase A and B

  • (E)-2-Phenylcyclopropylamine ((E)-TCP), (Z)-2-Phenylacyclopropylamine ((Z)-TCP), (E)-1-methyl-2-phenylcyclopropylamine ((E)-MTCP), and (Z)-1-methyl-2-phenylcyclopropylamine ((Z)-MTCP) were synthesized and used to determine to what extent 1-methylsubstitution and stereochemistry of 2-phenycyclopropylamines affect inhibition of monoamine oxidase (MAO). Inhibition of rat brain mitochondrial MAO-A and B by the compounds were measured using serotonin and benzylamine as the substrate, respectively and $IC_{50}$ values obtianed with 95% confidence limits by the method of computation. For the inhibition of MAO-A, (E)-MTPC ($IC_{50}$ = 6.2 * $10^{-8}$M) was found to be 37 times more potent than (Z)-MTCP ($IC_{50}$ = 7.8 * $10^{-8}$M), was 7 times more potent than (Z)-MTCP($IC_{50}$= 4.7 * $10^{-7}$M) and (E)-TCP($IC_{50}$ =7.8 * $10^{-8}$M),0.6 times as potent as (Z)- TCP ($IC_{50}$ = 4.4 * $10^{-8}$M). The results suggested that while without 1-methyl group, potency of a (Z)-isomer was comparable to that of (E)-isomer, the methyl group in its (Z)-position was very unfavorable to the inhibition of MAO and that in its (E)-position, the methyl group contributed positively to the potency as found by the fact that (E)-MTCP was 1-5 times more potent than (E)-TCP. In view of the selective inhibition of MAO-A- or B over MAO-A and 1-methyl substitution as well as the stereochemical factors did not significantly influence the selectivity.

실리콘 기판 위의 나선형 인덕터에 대한 SPICE 모델 (SPICE Model of the Spiral Inductor on Silicon Substrate)

  • 회로설계 엔지니어들이 쉽게 RF IC 설계에 사용할 수 있는 나선형 인덕터의 SPICE 모델을 개발하였다. 이 모델은 나선형 인덕터의 등가회로 소자 값들을 SPICE의 user-defined function 및 subcircuit 기능을 이용하여, 레이아웃 변수, 공정 변수, 실리콘 기판 변수로부터 정의하였다. 특히 인덕턴스는 임의의 회전에 대한 인덕턴스 Li 및 임의의 두 회전에 대한 상호 인덕턴스 Mij를 subcircuit으로 정의하여 전체 인덕턴스 값을 계산하였다. 모델의 정확성을 검증하기 위하여 CMOS 0.8${\mu}m$ 공정으로 제작된 나선형 인덕터의 측정 s-파라미터, 총 인덕턴스 및 quality-factor 결과를 시뮬레이션 데이터와 비교한 결과 일치함을 확인하였다. 본 논문에서 제시된 SPICE를 이용한 나선형 인덕턴스 모델은 scalable하며, 실리콘 기판의 영향등을 포함하기 때문에 레이아웃 최적화에 쉽게 사용할 수 있는 장점을 가진다.

Numerical optimization of flow uniformity inside an under body- oval substrate to improve emissions of IC engines

  • Oval substrates are widely used in automobiles to reduce the exhaust emissions in Diesel oxidation Catalyst of CI engine. Because of constraints in space and packaging Oval substrate is preferred rather than round substrate. Obtaining the flow uniformity is very challenging in oval substrate comparing with round substrate. In this present work attempts are made to optimize the inlet cone design to achieve the optimal flow uniformity with the help of CATIA V5 which is 3D design tool and CFX which is 3D CFD tool. Initially length of inlet cone and mass flow rate of exhaust stream are analysed to understand the effects of flow uniformity and pressure drop. Then short straight cones and angled cones are designed. Angled cones have been designed by two methodologies. First methodology is rotating flow inlet plane along the substrate in shorter or longer axis. Second method is shifting the flow inlet plane along the longer axis. Large improvement in flow uniformity is observed when the flow inlet plane is shifted along the direction of longer axis by 10, 20 and 30 mm away from geometrical centre. When the inlet plane is rotated again based on 30 mm shifted geometry, significant improvement at rotation angle of $20^{\circ}$ is observed. The flow uniformity is optimum when second shift is performed based on second rotation. This present work shows that for an oval substrate flow, uniformity index can be optimized when inlet cone is angled by rotation of flow inlet plane along axis of substrate.

식용 버섯류의 도파민 베타 수산화효소에 대한 저해활성 검색 (Screening of Inhibitory Activity of Edible Mushrooms on Dopamine ${\beta}-Hydroxylase$)

  • 식용버섯류 중 국내에서 재배되고 있는 식용버섯류에 대한 생리활성 검색의 일환으로 영지, 양송이, 표고 등 3종의 버섯을 대상으로 dopamine ${\beta}-hydroxylase(DBH)$에 대한 저해활성을 tyramine을 기질로 하여 검색하였다. 각 버섯들의 DBH에 대한 저해활성은 영지버섯은 클로로포름 분획에서 100% 이상의 현저한 저해활성을 나타내었으며 표고와 양송이는 에틸아세테이트 분획에서 각각 79.7%라 64.7%의 저해활성을 나타내었다. 한편, 이들 버섯류의 각 용매분획에 대하여 DBH 저해활성을 검색하여 각 분획의 $IC_{50}$을 구하고 용매분획 총량의 specific activity를 비교한 결과, 영지버섯의 클로로포름분획의 $IC_{50}$$1.60{\times}10^{-4}\;g$으로 DBH에 대한 저해활성을 나타내었고 양송이와 표고버섯의 경우 에틸아세테이트 분획의 $IC_{50}$$5.50{\times}10^{-4}\;g,\;2.35{\times}10^{-4}\;g$으로 각각 검색되었다.

A 77GHz MMIC Transceiver Module for Automotive Forward-Looking Radar Sensor

  • A 77GHz MMIC transceiver module consisting of a power amplifier, a low noise amplifier, a drive amplifier, a frequency doubler and a down-mixer has been developed for automotive forward-looking radar sensor. The MMIC chip set was fabricated using $0.15{\mu}m$ gate-length InGaAs/InAlAs/GaAs mHEMT process based on 4-inch substrate. The power amplifier demonstrated a measured small signal gain of over 20dB from $76{\sim}77GHz$ with 15.5dBm output power. The chip size is $2mm{\times}2mm$. The low noise amplifier achieved a gain of 20dB in a band between $76{\sim}77\;GHz$ with an output power of 10dBm. The chip size is $2.2mm{\times}2mm$. The driver amplifier exhibited a gain of 23dB over a $76{\sim}77\;GHz$ band with an output power of 13dBm. The chip size is $2.1mm{\times}2mm$. The frequency doubler achieved an output power of -16dBm at 76.5GHz with a conversion gain of -16dB for an input power of 10dBm and a 38.25GHz input frequency. The chip size is $1.2mm{\times}1.2mm$. The down-mixer demonstrated a measured conversion gain of over -9dB. The chip size is $1.3mm{\times}1.9mm$. The transceiver module achieved an output power of 10dBm in a band between $76{\sim}77GHz$ with a receiver P1dB of -28dBm. The module size is $8{\times}9.5{\times}2.4mm^3$. This MMIC transceiver module is suitable for the 77GHz automotive radar systems and related applications in W-band.

  • 코디에라이트($2MgO,2Al_{2}O_{3},5SiO_{2}$)는 다층 IC 기관용 재료로써 최근에 큰 관심을 갖고 연구되어지고 있다. 졸겔법에 의해서 합성된 코디에라이트 기판위에 구리층을 만들고 동시 소성 분위기와 소성 온도 변화르 통해서 접합면의 형태변화를 분석함으로써 접합력이 우수한 소성 조건을 찾아보았다. 수분을 함유한 Ar가스( $Ar+H_{2}O$) 분위기에서 동시 소성하는 경우 좋은 접합 특성을 보여 주었으며 특히 접합 특성 향상에 승온 속도가 큰 영향을 미친다.

수종의 천연물이 모노아민 옥시다제 활성에 미치는 영향 (제2보) (Effects of Herbal Medicines on Monoamine Oxiclase Activity (II))

  • The effects of MeOH extracts from 88 herbal medicines on monoamine oxidase (MAO) acitivity were investigated. MAO was purified from mouse brain and its activity was determined by fluorospectrophotometer using kynuramine as a substrate. The $K_m\;and\;V_{max}$ values (n=4) of MAO were $78.2{\pm}4.0\;{\mu}M$ and $0.65{\pm}0.05$ nmol/min/mg protein, respectively. Four MeOH extracts from Melilotus sauvelolens, Eupatorium lindleyanum Bupleurum longiradiatum and Sorbaria sirbiforia showed a strong inhibitory effect with less than $100{\mu}g/ml$ in their $IC_{50}$ values on MAO activity. Six MeOH extracts including Agastache rugosa showed a mild inhibitory effect with 100~200${\mu}$g/ml in their $IC_{50}$ values. Twenty-two MeOH extracts including Melandryum seoulense exhibited a week inhibition of MAO activity with 200~300${\mu}$g/ml in their $IC_{50}$ values.

Abalone Protein Hydrolysates: Preparation, Angiotensin I Converting Enzyme Inhibition and Cellular Antioxidant Activity

  • Abalone protein was hydrolyzed by enzymatic hydrolysis and the optimal enzyme/substrate (E/S) ratios were determined. Abalone protein hydrolysates (APH) produced by Protamex at E/S ratio of 1:100 showed angiotensin I converting enzyme inhibitory activity with $IC_{50}$ of 0.46 mg/mL, and APH obtained by Flavourzyme at E/S ratio of 1:100 possessed the oxygen radical absorbance capacity value of $457.6{\mu}M$ trolox equivalent/mg sample. Flavourzyme abalone protein hydrolysates (FAPH) also exhibited $H_2O_2$ scavenging activity with $IC_{50}$ of 0.48 mg/mL and $Fe^{2+}$+ chelating activity with $IC_{50}$ of 2.26 mg/mL as well as high reducing power. FAPH significantly (P<0.05) protected $H_2O_2$-induced hepatic cell damage in cultured hepatocytes, and the cell viability was restored to 90.27% in the presence of FAPH. FAPH exhibited 46.20% intracellular ROS scavenging activity and 57.89% lipid peroxidation inhibition activity in cultured hepatocytes. Overall, APH may be useful as an ingredient for functional foods.
