Expanding Generalized Hadamard Matrices over Gm by Using Generalized Hadamard Matrices over G (그룹 G상의 일반화된 하다마드 행렬을 이용한 \ulcorner 상의 일반화된 하다마드 행렬의 확장)

  • Over an additive abelian group G of order g and for a given positive integer λ, a generalized Hadamard matrix GF(g,λ) is defined as a gλ$\times$gλ matrix [h(i,j)] where 1$\leq$i$\leq$gλ,1$\leq$j$\leq$gλ, such that every element of G appears exactly λ times in the list h(i$_1$,1)-h(i$_2$,1), h(i$_1$,2)-h(i$_2$,2),...,h(i$_1$,gλ)-h(i$_2$, gλ) for any i$\neq$j. In this paper, we propose a new method of expanding a GH(\ulcorner,λ$_1$) = B = \ulcorner over G by replacing each of its m-tuple \ulcorner with \ulcorner GH(g,λ$_2$) where m=gλ$_2$. We may use \ulcornerλ$_1$(not necessarily all distinct) GH(g,λ$_2$)'s for the substitution and the resulting matrix is defined over the group of order g.

Fabrecation and Characterization of $SrBi_2TaNbO_9$ Ferroelectric Thin Film Prepared by Sol-Gel Method (SOL-GEL법을 이용한 $SrBi_2TaNbO_9$ 강유전성 박막 제조 및 특성 평가)

  • Polycrystalline SBTN ferroelectric thin films were prepared by sol-gel method with various Nb mole ratios on Pt/ $SiO_2$/Si (100) substrates. The films were annealed at different temperatures and characterized in terms of phase and microstructure. Relatively a well saturated hysteresis pattern was obtained at x =0.2 in S $r_{0.8}$B $i_{2.3}$(T $a_{1-x}$ N $b_{x}$)$_2$ $O_{9+}$$\alpha$/ thin films. At an applied voltage of 5V, the dielectric constant ($\varepsilon$$_{r}$) and dissipation factor (tan $\delta$) of typical S $r_{0.8}$B $i_{2.3}$(T $a_{1-x}$ N $b_{x}$)$_2$ $O_{9+}$$\alpha$/ thin film (x=0.2) were about 236.2 and 0.034. Measured remanent polarization (2Pr) and coercive field (Ec) were 4.28C/c $m_2$, and 38.88kv/cm respectively. No fatigue was observed up to 6$\times$10$_{10}$ switching cycles at 5V and the normalized polarization reduced by a factor of only 4%.%. 4%.%. 4%.%.%.%.%.

Dimesogenic Compounds with Chiral Tails: Synthesis and Liquid Crystalline Properties of a Homologous Series of a, w-Bis[4-(4'-(S)-( -)-2-methylbutoxycarbonylbiphenyl- 4-oxycarbonyl)phenoxy]alkanes

  • A series of new liquid crystalline dimesogenic compounds with chiral tails was synthesized, and their thermal and liquid crystalline properties were studied. The chain length of the central polymethylene spacers (x) was varied from dimethylene (2) to decamethylene (12). These compounds were characterized by elemental analysis, IR and NMR spectroscopy, differential scanning calorimetry (DSC), and cross-polarizing microscopy. All compounds were found to be enantiotropically liquid crystalline, and the values of melting ($T_m$) and isotropization temperature ($T_i$) as well as enthalpy change (Δ$H_i$) and entropy change for isotropization (Δ$S_i$) decreased in a zig-zag fashion revealing the so-called odd-even effect as x increases. Their mesomorphic properties fall into three categories depending upon x; (a) compounds with x=2 and 4 formed two different mesophases, smectic and cholesteric phases in that order on heating, and vice versa on cooling, (b) compounds with x=3, 7, 8, 10 and 11 reversibly formed only the cholesteric phase, and (c) compounds with x=5, 6, 9 and 12 exhibited only a cholesteric phase on heating, whereas on cooling they formed two different mesophases, cholesteric and smectic phases, sequentially.
