Mankind has increasingly used land, water, minerals and other natural resources since the beginning of industrialization, and future growth in the population and economy is thought to further enhance the impact upon the Earth. Operating characteristics of high Tc superconducting current limiting fuse at various voltages (고온 초전도 한류퓨즈의 전압별 동작특성)

  • We present the basic properties of a superconducting current limiting fuse (SCLF) based on YBCO/Au films. The SCLFs consists of YBCO stripes covered with Au layers for current shunt. Under the source voltage of 100 $V_{rms}$, the longer the duration time of fault current was, the shorter its discharge time was. The duration time of fault current and its discharge time were reduced by increased voltages in the range of 200 - 300 $V_{rms}$. We thought that this was because the quench propagation was limited by local melting generated with higher voltage.

  • In a recent year, welding is known as a most powerful process in production of pipe. For the conventional purpose, pipe is welded in axial direction to minimize the welding cost. And for the high pressure pipe, welding is done in helical direction to increase a allowable hoop stress. An analytical welding temperature distributions in a metal tube are obtained as a two dimensional case in quasi-stationary state. Numerical values which have been obtained by the analytical investigation shows a good agreement with the isocromatic lines which have been appeared at oxidized zone along the welds. Therefore it is thought that the analytical result can be used in estimating the heat effect upon the material such as a residual stress and strain, metallurgical change and etc..

  • Recently, the strenuous industrial waste is scattered and one of the oyster also make the serious environmental contamination. The purpose of this study is investigating an utilization ability as calcium binder of the oyster with Hwang-To according to a rate(10%, 20%, 30%, 40%, 50%). This study grasp physical properties of the oyster powder, bake production of the paste, and conduct the flow test, stiff time test and strength test. According to baking condition, strength of $1000^{\circ}C$(120minutes, rate 30%) is higher than any other condition. The oyster powder from above $900^{\circ}C$ seem possibility as binder hereafter. It is thought that the continuous research will be necessary.

  • "Jung Ri Eui Kwae" is the book, illustrated and recorded with court coutesy and manners during the King, Jung Jo's honoured coming to his own father's royal tomb "Hyun Ryung Won" of Sa Do Seh Ja(The Crown Prince to be mourned) with his own mother Hae Kyung Koong Mrs. Hong. According to this book, we can see the costumes and its ornaments of the civil and military officials and also of Yu Ryung(the maden court musician) and Dong Ki (a young Kisaeng girl) during serving at Bong Soo Dang bangquet celebrating his own mother's 60th birthday anniversary. It is interesting to review once more the royal ceremonies representing the portion of the costumes and its ornaments in the 18th century of the Yi Dynasty, Yung-Jung Jo era that is to be thought the reform period in almost every field of social system.

  • Barium titanyl oxalates, strontium titanyl oxalates and calcium zirconyl oxalates were prepared with variation of solution concentration and method of adding mixed metal ion solution into oxalic acid. Then they were aged in distilled water, ethanol or methanol, respectively. Barium titanyl oxalates and calcium zironyl oxalates were grown in water and strontium titanyl oxalates were groun in both water and methanol. They were supposed to be grown through the solutionl and reprecipitation mechanism. Nonuniform dispersion of particles in liquid phase is thought to cause abnormal particle growth.

  • On the basis of growth mechanism proposed by recent work, partile of barium titanyl oxalate was controlled by aging in water. From aging at $25^{\circ}C$ for 3 hours, uniform particles of 0.3 ${\mu}$m were obtained. During aging, abnormal particle growth was observed, which were thought to be caused by impurities in water. With increase of aging time and temperature, particle grows more, and differential growth was promoted. In aging for long time, grown particles were cracked.

  • We present the basic properties of a superconductive fuse (SF) based on YBCO/Au films. The SF consists of YBCO stripes covered with Au layers for current shunt. The fault current was limited to a designed value in less than 0.4 msec by resistance development in YBCO/Au upon quenching. This enabled the SF to transfer small fault power and the suppressed current was sustained for more than 0.5 msec while Au layer melting and arcing. The arcing time was less than 2.5 msec, that is short enough to do self-interruption. Under the source voltage of 100 $V_{rms}$, the longer the duration time of fault current was, the shorter its discharge time was. The duration time of fault current and its discharge time were reduced by increased voltages in the range of 200 - 300 $V_{rms}$. We thought that this was because the quench propagation was limited by local melting generated with higher voltage.age.

  • As there expands the usage of Al-Cu connections to interface aluminum and copper in power distribution systems, efforts to mitigate the mechanical, electrical or electro-chemical degradation are widely spreading. The explosive bending technology, in particular, has been thought as a countermeasure for the degradation. In this paper, electrochemical analysis and optical microscopic observation are carried out in order to compare the corrosion resistivities of the commercial compression type bimetallic sleeve and the explosion type bimetallic sleeve. The results show that the explosive bonding technology can prevent the interfacial corrosion caused by the formation of crevices and pits as well as from galvanic potential difference.
