Hemiplegia cruciata (HC) manifests as paralysis of the ipsilateral arm and contralateral leg. Herein, we report a 64-year-old man with weakness of the right leg and of the left arm after multiple sclerosis (MS). His brain and spine magnetic resonance imaging show a lower medulla lesion, which is extended to posterior part of C1 spine through cervicomedullary junction. HC usually results from stroke or trauma, but it is rare as presenting symptom of MS.

This paper describes the exfoliation and surface modification of muscovite mica for UV coating formulation. For the exfoliation of the mica, hydrothermal process was used in the presence of lithium nitrate ($LiNO_3$). After the cation exchange with $Li^+$ ions, the surface of the mica was modified with several amphiphilic substances to increase compatibility and storage stability in UV coating formulation. Such a hydrophobic surface modification affected colloidal stability as well as dispersibility of the exfoliated mica in UV coating solution. Anticorrosive property of mica/UV coated steel plates was tested by salt spray test (SST) and compared with sodium montmorillonite ($Na^+$-MMT)/UV coated steel plates.

We propose an automatic pronunciation diagnosis system to evaluate the pronunciation of a foreign language without the uttered text. We recorded English utterances spoken by native and Korean speakers, and utterances spoken by Koreans are evaluated by native speakers based on three criteria: fluency, accuracy of phones and intonation. The system evaluates the utterances of test Korean speakers based on the differences of log-likelihood given two models: one is trained by English speech uttered by native speakers, and the other is trained by English speech uttered by Korean speakers. We also applied purification algorithm to increase class differentiability. The purification can detect and eliminate the non-speech frames such as short pauses, occlusive silences that do not help to discriminate between utterances. As the results, our proposed system has higher correlation with the human scores than the baseline system.

본 논문은 낚시성 기사 제목과 비낚시성 기사 제목을 판별하기 위한 시스템을 제시한다. 서포트 벡터 머신(SVM)을 이용하여 기사 제목을 분류하며, 분류하는 기준은 딥러닝 기법중의 하나인 워드임베딩(Word Embedding), 군집화 알고리즘 중 하나인 K 평균 알고리즘(K-means)을 이용한다. 자질로서 기사 제목의 단어를 사용하였으며, 정확도가 83.78%이다. 결론적으로 낚시성 기사 제목에는 낚시를 유도하는 특별한 단어들이 존재함을 알 수 있다.

별 생성 과정은 코어라 불리는 고밀도의 분자운이 중력붕괴를 일으켜, 코어의 물질이 원반을 거쳐 원시성으로 유입되는 과정이다. 최근 들어, 원시성으로의 물질 유입량이 시간에 따라 일정하지 않으리라는 것이 일반적으로 받아들여지고 있으며, FU orionis에서 일어났던 accretion burst가 그 하나의 증거로 제시되고 있다. 지난 9월, 또 하나의 FU orionis-type burst가 HBC 722라 불리는 한 young stellar object에서 일어났다. 이 accretion burst로 인해 HBC 722는 V등급에서 4등급 밝아졌으며, 현재 서서히 어두워져 가고 있다. 우리는 지난 11월 말부터 4차례의 BOES 관측을 이 천체에 대해 수행하였고, 그 결과를 발표하고자 한다.

For this study, alkali-activated slag red-mud pavement is manufactured to examine the usability of red-mud as a recycling material in the construction industry. In the compaction curve in terms of the replacement ratio of red mud by binder type, the dry density changed gradually depending on the water content, which implies that there is no distinct difference in compaction according to the replacement ratio of red mud. The compressive strength at 28 days was observed to be 18.9~27.0MPa in ASS, and 18.4~28.8MPa in OPC, showing a similar level between the specimens.
