AQWA-ANSYS 연계에 의한 대형 부유구조체의 파랑운동-구조거동 통합해석 (Integrated Analysis of Hydrodynamic Motions and Structural Behavior of Large-Scaled Floating Structures using AQWA-ANSYS Coupling)

  • 부유구조체의 설계를 위해서는 파랑하중하에서 부유구조체의 파랑운동 특성과 구조거동에 대한 평가가 요구된다. 부유구조체의 구조거동 평가에서는 파랑하중에 의한 파압분포가 반영되어야 하지만, hydrodynamic 해석모델과 구조해석 모델사이의 파압 연계가 어려워 정확한 구조거동 평가가 어려웠던 문제점이 있었다. 본 논문에서는 파랑하중하에서 대형 부유구조체의 정확한 구조거동 평가를 목적으로 파랑운동-구조거동 통합해석을 실시하였다. AQWA에 의한 hydrodynamic 해석을 바탕으로 부유구조체에 작용하는 파압 분포를 ANSYS Inc.에서 제공하는 Workbench 인터페이스를 이용하여 ANSYS의 구조해석 모델에 연계하였다. 연구결과 본 연구의 파랑운동-구조거동 통합해석은 파랑하중에 의해 부유구조체에 발생하는 파압분포를 구조해석 모델에 정확하게 반영할 수 있어 파랑하중에 의한 부유구조체의 구조거동을 정확하게 평가할 수 있는 것으로 나타났다. 또한, 상부 슬래브의 인장응력은 파랑 입사각 $0^{\circ}$의 경우에 가장 불리하고, 하부 슬래브의 인장응력은 파랑 입사각 $45^{\circ}$의 경우에 가장 불리한 것으로 나타났다.

  • The purpose of this study is to investigate the applicability of the two dimensional model in natural rivers. In this study, two dimensional unite element model, SMS, is used to simulate a complex flow along with the sediment movements in the natural river. The RMA-2 model embeded in SMS is used to simulate flow phenomena and SED-2D model is employed to simulate sediment transport. The model is applied to the confluence zone of the Gam River and mouth of Nakdong River. For model calibration, the result of the unsteady flow analysis is compared with the Typhoon 'Rusa' data. In addition, the runoff analysis was conducted for the determination of the project flood and the flood forecasting. The simulation results presented the characteristics of two dimensional flow with velocity vector and flow depth. The sediment transport characteristics are shown in terms of sediment concentration as well as bed elevation change. Accordingly, the SMS model in this study turned out to be very effective tool for the simulation of the hydrodynamic characteristics under the various flow conditions and corresponding sediment transports in natural rivers.

EFDC 해수유동모형의 계산시간 효율화 (On reducing the computing time of EFDC hydrodynamic model)

  • EFDC 모형에서 해수유동과 퇴적물 이동을 모의하고자 하는 경우에 필요한 해수유동과 퇴적물 이동 모듈외의 수질 모델 등의 요소가 해수유동 모의시간에 미치는 영향을 검토하였다. 해수유동과 퇴적물 이동의 계산에 불필요한 수질요소관련 프로그램과 조건문 들을 모델에서 제거하는 방법으로 모형을 간략화하고 계산시간을 비교하였다. 수정된 EFDC 모형(EFDC-E)을 사용하여 목포해역에서 조류에 대하여 모의하고, 계산에 소요되는 시간과 모의결과를 EFDC 모형을 이용한 모의결과와 비교하였다. 또한, 2차원 모형과 3차원 모형을 동시에 적용하여 2차원 모의결과와 3차원 모의결과의 차이점에 대한 분석과 각 모형의 목포해역 조류 비대칭에 대한 재현성에 대해서 검토하였다. 간략화과정을 통해서 개선된 EFDC-E 모형은 EFDC 모형보다 2차원과 3차원 조류모의에서 약 3배 빠르게 계산하는 것을 확인할 수 있었다. 2차원 모의결과는 수심평균유속을 계산하여 상층에서 관측한 조류를 정확하게 재현하지 못하였으나, 3차원 모형을 적용한 결과는 2차원 모의보다 유속크기가 관측치와 보다 잘 일치하는 모습을 보였다.

물질순환모델을 이용한 제주항의 수질관리(I) - 제주항의 물리해양환경의 변화 - (Water quality management of Jeiu Harbor using material cycle model(I) - The Variation of Physical Oceanographic Environments in Jeiu Harbor -)

  • In order to control of water quality in Jeju harbor, variation of physical oceanographic environments was estimated using material cycle model. It is composed of the three-dimensional hydrodynamic model for the simulation at water flow and material cycle model for the simulation of water quality. The three dimensional hydrodynamic model simulation of the circulation and mixing in Jeju Harbor has been conducted forced by Sanzi River Discharge, Tidal elevation, wind and Solar heat in case of August and November, 2000 and February and May, 2001, respectively. The results of numerical model and observation show that the model can produce realistic results of current in the harbor. The monthly variation of velocity pattern are not so much changed are found In Jeju Harbor. The residual current was forced by temperature, salinity, density, wind and tidal current. The residual current of August, 2000 are the strongest among four month. It can be explained that the density effect can be important role in residual current at Jeju Harbor. As the results of salinity distribution simulation, very low concentration of all levels were simulated in August, 2000. The flowrate of Sanzi river was investigated 77,760 ㎥ /d in August, 2000. Therefore, pollutant loadings from Sanzi river should be considered for water quality management in Jeiu harbor.

RANS 기반의 세장체 이론을 이용한 선형 조종 유체력 미계수 추정에 관한 연구 (Prediction Method for Linear Maneuvering Hydrodynamic Derivatives Using Slender Body Theory Based on RANS)

  • It is important to predict the hydrodynamic maneuvering derivatives, which consist of the forces and moment acting on a hull during a maneuvering motion, when estimating the maneuverability of a ship. The estimation of the maneuverability of a ship with a change in the stern hull form is often performed at the initial design stage. In this situation, a method that can reflect the change in the hull form is necessary in the prediction of the maneuverability of the ship. In particular, the linear hydrodynamics maneuvering derivatives affect the yaw checking motion as the key factors. In the present study, static drift calculations were performed using Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) based on Reynolds Average Navier-Stokes (RANS) for a 40-segment hull. A prediction method for the linear hydrodynamic maneuvering derivatives was proposed using the slender body theory from the distribution of the lateral force acting on each segment of the hull. Moreover, the results of a comparison study to the model experiment for KVLCC1 performed by KRISO are presented in order to verify the accuracy of the static drift calculation. Finally, the linear hydrodynamic maneuvering derivatives obtained from both the model test and calculation are compared and presented to verity the usefulness of the method proposed in this study.

Hydrodynamic Responses of Spar Hull with Single and Double Heave Plates in Random Waves

  • Heave plates have been widely used to enhance viscous damping and thus reduces the heave response of Spar platforms. Single heave plate attached to the keel of the Spar has been reported in literature (Tao and Cai 2004). The effect of double heave plates on hydrodynamic response in random waves has been investigated in this study. The influence of relative spacing $L_d/D_d$ ($D_d$-the diameter of the heave plate) on the hydrodynamic response in random waves has been simulated in wave basin experiments and numerical model. The experimental investigation has been carried out using 1:100 scale model of Spar with double heave plates in random waves for different relative spacing and varying wave period. The influence of relative spacing between the heave plates on the motion responses of Spar are evaluated and presented. Numerical investigation has been carried out to investigate effect of relative spacing on hydrodynamic characteristics such as heave added mass and hydrodynamic responses. The measured results were compared with those obtained from numerical simulation and found to be in good agreement. Experimental and numerical simulation shows that the damping coefficient and added mass does not increase for relative spacing of 0.4 and the effect greater than relative spacing on significant heave response is insignificant.

사항중인 선체 주위의 점성유동 계산 및 조종유체력에 선미형상이 미치는 영향 (Computation of Viscous Flows around a Ship with a Drift Angle and the Effects of Stern Hull Form on the Hydrodynamic Forces)

  • 사항상태의 선박 주위의 점성유동 계산을 위하여 RANS 방정식에 대한 수치계산법을 개발하였다. 수치계산법은 이산화방법으로 유한체적법에 기초하여, 비점성 대류항에 대하여는 3차 정도의 flux-difference splitting 방법을 사용하고 시간 적분은 Euler 음해법을 사용하였다. 난류모형으로는 Spalart-Allmaras one-equation 모형을 사용하였다. 개발된 수치계산법을 이용하여 선수형상은 같으나 선미형상이 다른 두 VLCC 선형에 대한 조종유체력 및 유동 특성을 계산하고 이를 실험결과와 함께 비교하고 살펴보았다. 계산결과는 구속모형시험과 국부유동계측으로부터 얻은 유체력 및 유동을 잘 예측하고 있을 뿐 아니라 선미형상 차이에서 나타나는 유체력 및 유동특성의 차이도 잘 보여주었다.

CFD를 이용한 KVLCC1의 Circular Motion Test 시뮬레이션 (Circular Motion Test Simulation of KVLCC1 Using CFD)

  • In this study, the turbulent free surface around KVLCC1 employed in the circular motion test simulation is numerically calculated using a commercial CFD(Computational Fluid Dynamics) code, FLUENT. Also, hydrodynamic forces and yaw moments around a ship model are calculated during the steady turning. Numerical simulations of the turbulent flows with free surface around KVLCC1 have been carried out by use of RANS equation based on calculation of hydrodynamic forces and yaw moments exerted upon the ship hull. Wave elevation is simulated by using the VOF method. VOF method is known as one of the most effective numerical techniques handling two-fluid domains of different density simultaneously. Boundary layer thickness and wake field are changed various yaw velocities of ship model during the steady turning. The calculated hydrodynamic forces are compared with those obtained by model tests.

선미 형상을 반영한 조종 유체력 미계수 추정에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Maneuvering Hydrodynamic Derivatives Estimation Applied the Stern Shape of a Vessel)

  • The various model tests are carried out to estimate and verify a ship performance in the design stage. But in view of the cost, the model test should be applied to every project vessel is very inefficient. Therefore, other methods of predicting the maneuverability with confined data are required at the initial design stage. The purpose of this study is to estimate the hydrodynamic derivatives by using the multiple regression analysis and PMM test data. The characteristics of the stern shape which has an important effect on the maneuverability are applied to the regression analysis in this study. The correlation analysis is performed to select the proper hull form coefficients and stern shape factors used as the variables in the regression analysis. The comparative analysis of estimate results and model test results is conducted on two ships to investigate the effectiveness of the maneuvering hydrodynamic derivatives estimation applied the stern shape. Through the present study, it is verified that the estimation using the stern shape factors as the variables are valid when the stern shape factors are located in the center of the database.

GIS와 연계한 한강 하류부에서의 동수역학적 수치모형의 개발 (Development of Hydrodynamic Model on the Downstream of Han River by Using Geographical Information System)

  • 본 연구에서는 2차원 동수역학적 수치해석모형을 개발하고, 한강하류부에 적용하였다. 과학적인 천수흐름 거동해석을 위해서 GIS에 기초한 등수역학모형을 구성하였으며, 개발된 모형의 검증을 위해서 모의수행에 의한 결과 값과 현장관측값과의 비교를 수행하였다. 본 연구에서 제시된 수치해석 모형은 Petrol-Galerkin 유한요소법이다. 또한 GIS를 이용한 하천흐름해석기법을 관측 하였으며, 이는 다양한 해석을 통해 직접적으로 사용자의 결정에 도움을 주게 된다. 본 연구의 결과는 다양한 하천, 저수지 그리고 하구의 해석에 관한 지침이 될 수 있을 것으로 사료된다.
