선회류 예혼합버너를 적용한 개질기용 연소시스템의 배기 및 연소특성 (Exhaust and Combustion Characteristics of Premixed Swirl Burner for Steam Reforming System)

  • The reformer system is a method for hydrogen production from hydrocarbon fuels such as natural gas under high temperature environment($about{\sim}1,000^{\circ}C$). The premixed swirl burner with mixing swirler and combustion swirler designed to deliver fuel cell electric output from 0.5 kW to 1.5 kW. Premixed swirl burner experiments using natural gas and mixture of natural gas and anode off gas were carried out to analyse flame patterns and stability by equivalence ratio respectively. The results show that the stable swirl flame can be established for all cases of fuels type using the premixed swirl burner. The swirl flame had a wide stability region and it showed very low CO(50 ppm) and $NO_x$(20 ppm) emission at different fuel type and various equivalence ratio conditions. The operating range of premixed swirl burner for stable swirl flame is found to exist between equivalence ratio of 0.70 to 0.90 for turn down ratio of 3:1.

  • Unburned hydrocarbon is a key contributor to both the fuel economy and emissions of automotive engine. Cyclic variation of HC emission is of importance, especially during throttle transients. The real time measurement of hydrocarbon is particularly important to obtain a better understanding of the mechanisms for combustion and emissions, especially during cold start and throttle transient condition. This paper reports the cycle resolved measurement technique of unburned hydrocarbons to quantify rapid changes of in-cylinder concentration in the vicinity of spark plug by using the Fast Response Flame Ionization Detector(FRFID). While this instrument actually measures fuel concentration, its results can be indicative of the AFR behaviour. In order to understand the rapid change of hydrocarbons with cylinder pressure, it is necessary to study the response time delay of the system, including the time associated with gas transportation to FID. And signal from FRFID is correlated with cylinder pressure data to relate changes in mixture preparation to the classic analysis, such as indicated mean effective(IMEF) and ignition delay, etc.

  • Mathematically and chemically simplified reaction scheme for n(heptane that simulates autoignitions of the end gases in spark ignition engines has been developed and studied computationally. The five(equation model is described, to predict the essential features of hydrocarbon oxidation. This scheme has been calibrated against autoignition delay times measured in rapid compression machines. The rate constants, activation temperatures, Ta, Arrhenius pre-exponential constants, A, and heats of reaction for stoichiometric nheptane/air has all been optimized. Comparisons between computed and experimental autoignition delay times have validated the present simplified reaction scheme. The influences of heat loss and concentration of chain carrier at the beginning of compression upon autoignition delay times have been computationally investigated.

  • This study is intended to check a temperature of the flame to raise by burning A heavy oil in a boiler. to measure the concentration of DS and SOF after collecting the PM(Particulate Matters). and to analyze the components ingredients of SOF by G.C Mass for presupposing the generation of particulate matters(soot). It is thought that the methyl(CH3) of the cyclic compound is changed to the materials of 2 cycles and 3 cycles after becoming CH by dehydrogenation and also mixing with the CH of a chain compound. form H-$\cdot$C=C$\cdot$-H that is mentioned before. in order to become Polycyclic Aromatic Hydrocarbon.

비닐장판 위에서 연소된 인화성 액체의 성장 특성과 탄화 패턴 (Growth Characteristics and Hydrocarbon Patterns of Flammable Liquid on a Vinyl Layer)

  • 본 연구에서는 인화성 액체가 비닐바닥에 뿌려져 화재가 발생되었을 때의 성장 특성 및 탄화 패턴 등을 해석하는데 있다. 아세톤은 화염이 착화되고 약 0.2 s 경과되었을 때 화염이 최성기에 도달하였다. 화염은 난류 패턴이며, 연기의 색상은 흰색이었다. 연소가 진행되는 하단은 층류 패턴이 확인되었고, 상단 부분은 난류 패턴이다. 연소 완료된 바닥은 희미한 포어 패턴을 나타냈다. 벤젠은 착화 후 약 0.6 s 경과하였을 때 강렬한 화염이 생성되었고, 길이는 약 50 mm로 측정되었다. 화염이 쇠퇴기로 접어들었을 때 불완전 연소에 의한 다량의 검은색 연기가 발생하였다. 연소가 완료된 바닥면의 탄화 패턴은 포어 패턴 및 스플래시 패턴 등이 확인되었다. 알코올은 착화되어 약 1.1 s 경과하였을 때 강렬한 화염이 형성되었다. 또한 인화성 액체가 고인 곳은 탄화 심도가 크게 형성되었고, 인화성 액체가 흘러간 곳의 경계면에서 탄화의 흔적이 확인되었다.

  • Natural gas is gaining more attraction as a future fuel in particular both for environmental protection and energy conservation. In order to bring about more widespread use of gaseous engines, the technology capable of achieving output and efficiency performance equivalent to that of diesel engines needs to be developed. In the present paper, the requirements of the pilot torch from pre-chamber for ensuring ignition and promoting combustion are discussed by means of taking high-speed flame photography and system can run with leaner mixture of various fuels comparing to the electric plug ignition system cause the ignition delay period ignited with the torch and the combustion period are very short in spite of changing A/F of gaseous fuels in the main chamber. However, the suitable piston-cavity design for the use of lower-hydrocarbon fuels such as propane and butane must be discussed increasingly in the mear future.

다양한 연료의 혼합에 따른 대향류 확산화염에서의 PAH 및 매연생성 특성 (Effect of Fuel Mixing on PAH and Soot Formation in Counterflow Diffusion Flames)

  • In order to investigate the effect of fuel mixing on PAH and soot formation, four species of methane, ethane, propane and propene have been mixed in counterlfow ethylene diffusion flame. Laser-induced incandescene and laser-induced fluorescene techniques were employed to measure soot volume fraction and polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbon (PAH) concentration, respectively. Results showed that the mixing of ethane (or propane) in ethylene diffusion flame produces more PAHs and soot than those of propene. Considering that propene directly dehydrogenates to propargyl radical, this behavior implied that the enhancement of PAH and soot formation by the fuel mixing of ethylene and ethane (or propane) cannot be explained solely by propargyl radical directly dehydrogenated from ethane (or propane). Thus, combination reactions between C1 and C2-species for the formation of propargyl was suggested to identify the synergistic effect occurring in the flames of ethylene and propane (or ethane) mixtures.

Combustion Characteristics of Heavy Fuel Oil-water Emulsion

  • This study is intended to check the flame temperature to raise in burning grade C heavy fuel oil and emulsion fuel oil in a boiler and to measure the concentration of Dry Shoot(DS) and Soluble Organic Fraction(SOF) after collecting the Particulate Matters (PM). The flames temperature in boiler was measured by burning grade C heavy oil and oil-water emulsion (C heavy oil $70\%\;and\;30\%$ of water) Combustion characteristics of two fuels was also compared by trapping particulate matters (PM) in exhaust gas and measuring the generated quantities of DS and SOF in fuel gas.

단기통 디젤엔진에서 함정용 디젤유의 전·후 분사시기가 연소 및 배출가스 특성에 미치는 영향 (Effect of pre-post injection timing of diesel fuel for naval vessel on the combustion and emission characteristics in an optically-accessible single cylinder diesel engine)

  • 본 논문에서는 함정에 탑재된 추진용 엔진에 사용되는 디젤연료(MDO)의 분사상태를 가시화가 가능한 단기통 디젤엔진에 적용시켜 전 후 분사시기에 따른 연소특성, 일산화탄소(CO) 및 탄화수소(HC) 배출특성을 규명하고, 연소과정의 가시화를 통하여 연소특성을 분석하는데 초점을 두었다. 전 분사시기가 주 분사시기 쪽으로 지연될수록 실린더 내부 평균유효압력($P_{me}$) 및 최고압력($P_m$)은 상승했으나, 주 분사의 방열율은 저감되고, 일산화탄소 및 탄화수소의 발생량 또한 감소하였다. 후 분사시기가 빨라질 경우 주 분사에 의해 형성된 고온, 고압 하에서 연소가 이루어짐에 따라 실린더 내부 평균유효압력 및 최고압력은 증가하였고, 일산화탄소 및 탄화수소 배출수준 또한 증가하였다. 연소과정을 분석한 결과, 전 분사시기가 늦어질수록 주 분사 시 발생되는 착화지연은 매우 짧아지며, 화염강도는 매우 상승하였다. 분사시기에 관계없이 후 분사 시 착화지연 현상은 발생하지 않았으며, 후 분사시기가 늦어질수록 화염의 강도는 점점 떨어졌다.

  • Synthesis of carbon nanomaterials on a substrate coated with metal nitrates using an ethylene fueled inverse diffusion flame was illustrated. The effects of radial distance, residence time of the substrate, and hydrocarbon composition on the synthesis of carbon nanomaterials were investigated. The effects of catalyst metal particles were also studied using SUS304 substrates coated with Fe(NO$_3$)$_3$ (ferric nitrate, nonahydrate) and Ni(NO$_3$)$_2$(nickel nitrate, hexahydrate), and Cu substrate. Carbon nanomaterials, with diameters ranging from 30 - 70 nm, were observed on the substrate for both cases of using substrates only and using them with metal nitrates. In case of using the substrate with metal nitrates, the formation and growth of carbon nanomaterials were occurred in the lower temperature region than that of using the substrates only due to the easy activation of the metal particles coated on the surface of the substrates.
