In-cylinder flow of a purpose-built small HSDI Hydra Diesel engine was investigated by laser Doppler velocimetry(LDV) during induction and compression processes. The flow was quantified in terms of ensemble-averaged axial and swirl velocities, normalized by the mean piston speed, at a plane located 12mm from the cylinder head and corresponding to the mid-plane of the diametrically-opposed quartz windows at an enigne speed of 1000rpm. The formation of toroidal vortices during the intake process and the evolution and decay of swirl motion during the compression process were observed. Turbulence at around TDC of compression became homogeneous and isotropic.
We present observational estimation of the infrared (IR) luminosity function (LF) of local (z < 0.3) star-forming (SF) galaxies derived from the AKARI NEP-Wide samples. We made an analysis of the NEP-Wide data with optical spectroscopic information allowing an accurate determination of luminosity function. Spectroscopic redshifts for about 1650 objects were obtained with MMT/Hectospec and WIYN/Hydra, and the median redshifts is about 0.22. To measure the contribution of SF galaxies to the luminosity function, we excluded AGN sample by comparing their SEDs with various model template. Spectroscopic redshifts and the AKARI's continuous filter coverage in the mid-IR (MIR) wavelength (2 ~ 25 micron) enable us to avoid large uncertainties from the mid-IR SED of galaxies and corresponding k-corrections. The 8-micron luminosity function shows a good agreement with the previous works in the bright-end, whereas it seems not easy to constrain the faint-end slope. The comparison with the results of the NEP-Deep data (Goto et al. 2010) suggests the luminosity evolution to the higher redshifts, which is consistent with the down-sizing evolutionary pattern of galaxies.
We report preliminary results from our analyses on the star-forming galaxies in the Herschel/SPIRE survey data over the AKARI/NEP-Wide Field. In this work, we utilize a combination of the SPIRE point source catalogue containing ~ 4,800 sources distributed over the wide (5.6 sq. deg) field and the spectroscopic redshift (zSPEC) data for 1790 selected targets obtained by MMT/Hectospec and WIYN/Hydra. Our analyses take advantages of multi-wavelengths photometric data (28 bands at most) covering from u* to $500{\mu}m$ band as well as continuous MIR wavelengths sampling by AKARI and WISE (4 to $25{\mu}m$). Various physical properties such as total infrared luminosity (LTIR), star formation rate (SFR), and luminosity functions (LFs) will be presented.
In order to discover the candidates of emission-line galaxies towards Hydra Void, objective-prism observations using U.K. Schmidt Telescope were carried out. To search the emission feature of [0III]${\lambda}{\lambda}4959,5007$ for all objects on the plate, all observed prism plates were scanned with APM at the Royal Observatory and the copied direct R plates were scanned with PDS Microdensitometer operating in the Inter- University Center for National Science Research Facilities. By utilizing the "XIMTOOL" package, both spectral and direct images for the same field were displayed simultaneously on up and down windows separately. In case of distinct emission features for a certain object, corresponding direct object on the other window was examined through eyeballing to see whether this object is a galaxy. Through this procedure, we discovered in total 33 candidates of emission-line galaxies in a single field.
We present the mid-infrared (MIR) luminosity function (LF) of local (z < 0.3) star forming (SF) galaxies based on the AKARI's NEP-Wide Survey data. We utilized a combination of the NEP-Wide point source catalogue containing a large number (114,000) of infrared (IR) sources distributed over the wide (5.4 sq. deg) field and spectroscopic redshift (z) data for 1790 selected targets obtained by optical follow-up surveys with MMT/Hectospec and WIYN/Hydra. The AKARI's continuous $2{\sim}24{\mu}m$ wavelength coverage and the spectroscopic redshifts for sample galaxies enable us to derive accurate spectral energy distributions (SEDs) in the mid-infrared. We carried out SED-fit analysis and employed 1/Vmax method to derive the mid-IR (e.g., $8{\mu}m$, $12{\mu}m$, and $15{\mu}m$ rest-frame) luminosity functions. Our results for local galaxies from the NEP region generally consistent with various previous works for other fields over wide luminosity ranges. The comparison with the results of the NEP-Deep data implies the luminosity evolution from higher redshifts towards the present epoch. We attempted to fit our derived LFs to the double power-laws and present the resulting power indices. We also examined the correlation between mid-IR luminosity and total IR luminosity.
플라즈마가 발생되면 생체용액과 반응을 하면서 ROS(reactive oxygen species)와 RNS(reactive nitrogen species)가 생성되는데 이 활성 종들이 플라즈마의 주요한 특성이라고 할 수 있다.

We present the mid-infrared (MIR) luminosity function (LF) of local (z < 0.3) star-forming (SF) galaxies in the North Ecliptic Pole (NEP) field. This work is based on the NEP-Wide point source catalogue and the spectroscopic redshift (z) data for ~ 1700 galaxies obtained by the optical follow-up survey with MMT/Hectospec and WIYN/Hydra. The AKARI's continuous $2-24{\mu}m$ coverage and the spectroscopic redshifts enable us to determine the spectral energy distribution (SED) in the mid-infrared and derive the luminosity functions of galaxies. Our $8{\mu}m$ LF finds good agreements with the results from SWIRE field over the wide luminosity range, while showing significant difference from the NOAO deep data in the faint end. The comparison with higher-z sample shows significant luminosity evolution from z > 0.3 to local universe. $12{\mu}m$ LF also shows a clear indication of luminosity evolution.
Six new species of two genera Dysidea and Pleraplysilla (Demospongiae: Dictyoceratida: Dysideidae) are described from Jejudo Island, Dokdo Island and Guryongpo, Korea. Among them, five new species of the genus Dysidea are compared with other reported species in fibres structure, cored detritus and fibres arrangement. Dysidea niveus n. sp. is characterized by thin collagenous plate-like fibres. Dysidea dokdoensis n. sp. is similar to D. geomunensis Kim et al., 2020 in skeletal structure, but differs in length of surface conules. Dysidea hydra n. sp. is similar to D. mureungensis Kim et al., 2020 at the surface, but differs in fibres cored with spicules. Dysidea sabulum n. sp. is similar to D. glavea Kim et al., 2020 in cored large sands in fibres, but differs in having numerous large sands cored in fibres throughout the sponge. Dysidea hirsuta n. sp. is unique, only surface fibres cored with large sands but not in choanosome. A new species of genus Pleraplysilla, P. flabellum n. sp. is compared with seven other reported species. This new species is not encrusting but has a thick flabellate shape.
We present a multi-wavelength study of a supercluster in the NEP region at z=0.087, using AKARI (Infrared space telescope) NEP-Wide (5.8 deg2) survey which has obtained an unique IR imaging dataset with contiguous wavelength coverage from 2 to $24{\mu}m$, overcoming the Spitzer limitation of imaging capability at $10-20{\mu}m$. The NEP-Wide survey is also covered in other wavelength such as X-ray, Radio, GALEX UV in the archive, optical (BRI from Maidanak 1.5m and CFHT's MegaPrime), and NIR imaging data (JH from KPNO 2.1m), with nearly 1900 optical spectra, mostly obtained by our group using MMT/Hectospec and WIYN/Hydra. Armed with the multiwavelength datasets, we investigate the connection between IR properties of galaxies and their environments as a tool to understand the evolution of galaxies in a supercluster environment. Specific attention will be given to MIR emission which can trace star formation activities and passive phases right after post-starbursts, and its relation to other wavelength data.

A $Cu^{2+}$ ion-selective membrane microelectrode has been fabricated from poly vinyl chloride (PVC) matrix membrane containing a new symmetrical hexadentate Schiff,s base 2-{1-(E)-2-((Z)-2-{(E)-2-[(Z)-1-(2-hydroxyphenyl)ethylidene]hydrazono}-1-methylpropylidene)hydrazono]ethyl}phenol (HDNOS) as a neutral carrier, Potassium tetrakis(4-chlorophenyl) borate (KTpClPB) as an anionic excluder and o-nitrophenyloctyl ether (NPOE) as a plasticizing solvent mediator. The microelectrode displays linear potential response in the concentration range of $1.0\;{\times}\;10^{-5}-1.0\;{\times}\;10^{-11}$ M of $Cu^{2+}$. The microelectrode exhibits a nice Nernstian slope of 25.9 ${\pm}$ 0.3 mV $decade^{-1}$ in the pH range of 3.1-8.1. The sensor has a relatively short response time in whole concentration ranges ($\sim$5 s). The detection limit of proposed sensor is $5.0\;{\times}\;10^{-12}$ M (320 pg/L), and it can be used over a period of eight weeks. The practical utility of the sensor has been demonstrated by using it as an indicator electrode in the potentiometric titration of $Cu^{2+}$ with EDTA. The proposed membrane electrode was used for the direct determining of $Cu^{2+}$ content in black and red pepper, and in waste water samples.
