Throughput increment of hybrid network added fixed node at ad.hoc network (Ad.hoc 네트워크에 고정 노드를 부가한 하이브리드 네트워크의 성능 향상)

  • 본 논문에서는 이동 애드 혹 네트워크의 성능 개선을 위한 방안으로 네트워크 중간에 고정 로드를 부가하여 어느 정도의 성능 향상이 있는지를 모의 실험을 통하여 평가하였다. 모의 실험 결과 이동 노드만을 사용했을 경우보다 고정노드를 함께 사용했을 때의 성능이 더 뛰어남을 알 수 있었고, 이동 노드의 이동 속도에 따른 비교에서도 고정 노드를 함께 사용한 경우가 성능이 더 뛰어남을 확인할 수 있었다. 또한 고정 노드의 개수에 따른 성능평가에서는 고정 노드를 여러 대 사용할수록 지연시간이 단축됨을 확인 할 수 있었다. 본 연구에서 제안한 방식은 이동 애드 혹 네트워크의 중간에 고정 노드를 부가하여야 하는 문제가 있으나, 비용과 처리율과의 관계를 비교한 후 비용 상승에도 불구하고 보다 높은 신뢰성과 빠른 처리율을 원하는 네트워크에 사용하면 효과적일 것이다.

  • 모바일 애드 흑 네트웍(Mobile Ad Hoc Network)에서는 지금까지 라우팅 오버헤드를 줄이기 위한 많을 프로토콜이 제안되었다. 않은 애드 흑 라우팅 프로토콜은 멀티-홉(Multi-Hop) 거리에 있는 목적지 노드까지의 경로 탐색을 위해서 플러딩(Flooding)을 사용한다. 본 논문에서는 애드 혹 네트웍의 라우팅을 위한 존 플러딩(Zone Flooding)을 제안한다. 제안된 프로토콜은 존을 이용하여 경로 설정 과정에 참여하는 노드의 수를 줄이고, 또한 각 노드간의 플러딩 패킷 수를 줄설 라우팅 오버헤드를 줄일 수 있다 경로 탐색 과정에서는 계층적 노드 구조를 이용하여 라우팅에 참여하는 노드 수를 줄인다. 또한 각 노드간에는 존 플러딩 방법을 이용하여 발생되는 라우팅 패킷 수를 줄였다. 시뮬레이션은 NS2 [3]를 이용하여 기존의 라우팅 프로토콜과 제안된 프로토콜의 성능을 비교하였다.

  • 이 논문에서는 기존의 Ad Hoc 네트워크 라우팅 방법 중 proactive routing 과 reactive routing 의 장점을 접목시켜 2-tier 계층구조위에서 효율적인 routing 기법을 제안한다. 또한 제한된 tier-2 네트워크에서 기존의 3GPP 서비스와 상호 연동 가능성을 고려하여 네트워크의 형태 변화에 따른 클러스터 헤더의 효율적인 생성 및 안정적인 경로 확보와 함께 클러스터 헤더의 신뢰성을 제공하기 위한 키 분배 메커니즘을 고찰한다.

  • Vehicular Ad Hoc NETwork (VANET), a subclass of Mobile Ah Hoc NETwork (MANET) has been a tech-buzz for the last couple of decades. VANET, yet not deployed, promises the ease, comfort, and safety to both drivers and passengers once deployed. The by far most important factor in successful VANET application is the data dissemination scheme. Such data includes scheduled beacons that contain whereabouts information of vehicles. In this paper, we aim at regularly broadcasted beacons and devise an algorithm to disseminate the beacon information up to a maximum distance and alleviate the broadcast storm problem at the same time. According to the proposed scheme, a vehicle before re-broadcasting a beacon, takes into account the current vehicular density in its neighborhood. The re-broadcasters are chosen away from the source of the beacon and among the candidate re-broadcasters, if the density in the neighborhood is high, then the candidate rebroadcaster re-broadcasts the beacon with high probability and with low probability, otherwise. We also performed thorough simulations of our algorithms and the results are sound according to the expectations.

  • Riverbed Modeler, which is a commercial packet-level discrete event simulator is used to model, design, and simulate complicated communication protocols and large-scale network. Riverbed Modeler got credit for its reliability in field of network simulation. In the MANET simulation environment using Riverbed Modeler, it is very complicated to add a new routing protocol into existing architecture of routing protocols because it is required lots of modifications of protocol recognition. In this paper, we propose Routing Adding Framework which can reduce errors or mistakes during modifying the existing routing support architecture. Routing Adding Framework is provided as a adapter API for protocol recognition. and it is only minimum modifications for protocol identifiers when a new routing protocol is added to the child process of manet_mgr process which manages routing protocols for IP layer. With Routing Adding Framework, we can reduce less than half modification. Then, we shows an example of implementation of a hybrid routing protocol AntHocNet using Routing Adding Framework, and we verify its design and application of the Routing Adding Framework by obtaining simulation result with similar result given by AntHocNet.

  • A novel hybrid multiple access system, TD-BCDMA, where Binary CDMA that maintains a constant amplitude by clipping the summation of input signals multiplied by the orthogonal codes is transmitted over a TDMA frame structure, was Nosed. In every time slot of TDMA, binary CDMA modulated multiple channel signals are transmitted with the same waveform of TDMA. TD-BCDMA has all the advantages of TDMA. Flexible adjustment of the data transmission rate In demand is possible by adjusting the number of codes and time slots assigned to each user. This property was used to show an example of Ad Hoc network applications. To obtain a proper synchronization scheme for TD-BCDMA, the Receiver Operating Characteristics performance and the false alarm probability and false dismissal probability under various channel environment of two different schemes, a preamble scheme as in TDMA and a synchronization channel scheme as in CDMA were compared. It was proved that the preamble scheme is more practical and suitable than the synchronization channel scheme for the hybrid multiple access system.

  • In mobile multi-hop wireless networks, the authentication between a base station and a mobile multi-hop node, between multi-hop nodes, and between user a station and a multi-hop node is needed for the reliable and secure network operation. In this paper, we survey various authentication schemes which can be considered to be adopted in mobile multi-hop wireless networks and propose a concept of novel mutual authentication scheme applicable to mobile multi-hop network architecture. The scheme should resolve the initial trust gain problem of a multi-hop node at its entry to the network, the problem of rogue mobile multi-hop node and the problem of hop-by-hop authentication between multi-hop nodes. Effectively, the scheme is a hybrid scheme of the distributed authentication method and the centralized authentication method which are considered to be deployed in the wireless ad-hoc network and the wireless network connected to wired authentication servers, respectively.

  • The MANET that can make autonomous distributed Network with Routing function has many differences than past wireless communication. For upcoming ALL-IP environment, MANET device should be connected with wired Internet Network and MANET is required to have a gateway to bridge two different networks to share information from any place. In this paper, Using the GMAHN Algorithm proposed Proactive, Reactive, Hybrid method that provides Inteface between Wired Internet network and MANET, we learned each method's the advantage and disadvantage through the various network environments. And also, we presented the optimization method of Hybrid combined Proactive with Reactive.

  • By the enormous increase in mobile nodes and diverse service requests on wireless networks, wireless mesh network(WMN) takes an interest as the solution for such requests. However, lots of issues which should be solved to deploy WMN are still remained. In the network layer, the performance improvement of routing protocols is the major issue of nowadays researches. WMN can be easily deployed by use of protocols for mobile ad-hoc networks(MANET) because it is much similar with MANET in multi-hop wireless routing and which node plays as host and router concurrently. Unfortunately, most routing protocols for MANET have drawbacks such as large traffic overhead and long delay time for route discovery due to the network extension. They are major factors of performance degradation of WMN and most researches are focused on them. In this paper, domain-based AODV which is amended AODV to be applied in hybrid WMN is proposed. The proposed scheme divides a hybrid WMN as several domains and performs route discovery by header layer domain. Therefore it can reduce the distance for route discovery as much as average hop count between domain header and member nodes. From the simulation, domain-based AODV was showed slowly increasing delay time due to the network extension.

  • This paper designs and Implements a connectivity analyzer for the hybrid vehicular network based on the real-life movement history data achieved from the Taxi telematics system currently in operation, aiming at providing a useful guideline and information to build a telematics network. The simulator traces the location of each vehicle, sets the vehicle type, either gateway or normal, decides whether it can be connected to a mobile gateway, keeps track of status of the vehicle, and calculates the duration of disconnected state. With this analysis considering the transmission range and gateway ratio, we can decide the cost-effective number of mobile gateways having both cellular and ad-hoc network interfaces, and buffer space requirement based on the measured disconnection time and message generation ratio.
