적응 모듈러스와 적응 스텝 크기를 적용한 Hybrid-SMMA 등화 알고리즘의 성능 평가 (Performance Evaluation of Hybrid-SMMA Equalization Algorithm based on Adaptive Modulus and Adaptive Stepsize)

  • 본 논문은 SMMA (Sliced Multi Modulus Algorithm) 등화 알고리즘에서 등화기의 출력 전력에 비례하는 adaptive modulus와 adaptive stepsize를 적용하므로서 등화 성능을 개선할 수 있는 Hybrid-SMMA 알고리즘에 관한 것이다. 기존 SMMA 알고리즘에서는 등화기의 탭 계수 갱신을 위한 오차 신호를 발생할 때 송신측 신호의 통계 특성치인 modulus를 고정적으로 사용하지만, 제안 Hybrid-SMMA에서는 등화기 출력 신호의 전력에 비례토록 modulus와 오차 신호의 비선형성을 이용하여 stepsize를 적응적으로 변화시킨다. 제안 알고리즘의 개선된 등화 성능을 컴퓨터 시뮬레이션을 통해 확인하였으며, 시뮬레이션 결과 제안 방식이 기존 SMMA보다 모든 성능에서 우월함을 확인하였다.

  • 본 논문에서는 CR-MMA (Constellation Reduction-Multi Modulus Algorithm) 등화 알고리즘에 adaptive modulus와 adaptive stepsize를 적용하므로서 등화 성능을 개선할 수 있는 Hybrid-CRMMA 알고리즘을 제안한다. CR-MMA 알고리즘은 16-QAM과 같은 nonconstant modulus 신호를 constant modulus 신호로 reduction한 후, 송신 신호의 통계치인 고정 modulus를 이용하여 오차 신호를 발생하므로 기존 MMA의 적응 등화 성능을 개선시키기 위하여 등장하였다. 제안 방식인 Hybrid-CRMMA는 CR-MMA의 constellation reduction 개념에 등화기 출력 신호의 전력에 비례토록 adaptive modulus와 오차 신호의 비선형성을 이용하여 adaptive stepsize를 적용하였으며, 이의 개선된 등화 성능을 컴퓨터 시뮬레이션을 통해 확인한다. 이를 위한 성능 지수로는 등화기 출력 신호 성상도, 수렴 특성을 나타내는 잔류 isi, 최대 찌그러짐, MSE 및 알고리즘의 외부 잡음에 대한 강인성을 나타내는 SER을 사용하였다. 컴퓨터 시뮬레이션 결과 제안 Hybrid-CRMMA가 기존 CR-MMA보다 모든 성능 지수에서 우월함을 확인하였다.

  • 본 논문은 DSE-MMA (Dithered Sign Error-MMA) 적응 등화기에서 adaptive modulus와 adaptive stepsize를 이용하여 등화 성능을 개선할 수 있는 Hybrid-DSE-MMA에 관한 것이다. DSE-MMA는 탭 계수 갱신을 위한 오차 신호를 얻을 때 dither 신호를 부가한 후 이의 부호만을 이용하므로 SE-MMA의 외부 잡음에 대한 robustness 성능을 개선시키지만, 고정 modulus와 stepsize를 이용하므로 수렴 속도와 잔류 isi 성능이 저하되는 단점이 있다. 논문에서는 등화기 출력 신호의 전력에 비례하는 adaptive modulus와 adaptive stepsize를 DSE-MMA에 적용하므로서 저하되는 등화 성능을 개선할 수 있음을 컴퓨터 시뮬레이션을 통해 확인한다. 개선된 등화 성능을 기존 DSE-MMA와 비교하기 위하여 수신측에서의 등화기 출력 신호인 복원된 신호 성상도, 잔류 isi, MD (Maximum Distortion), MSE 및 외부 잡음에 대한 알고리즘의 강인성을 알 수 있는 SER 성능을 사용하였다. 컴퓨터 시뮬레이션 결과 Hybrid-DSE-MMA 알고리즘은 모든 잔류 isi와 MD, MSE 및 SER등의 모든 성능 지수에서 DSE-MMA 보다 개선 되지만 수렴 속도가 늦어짐을 알 수 있었다.

비선형 시스템의 TSK 퍼지모델 기반 하이브리드 적응제어 (TSK Fuzzy Model Based Hybrid Adaptive Control of Nonlinear Systems)

  • In this thesis, we present the Takagi-Sugeno-Kang (TSK) fuzzy model based adaptive controller and adaptive identification for a general class of uncertain nonlinear dynamic systems. We use an estimated model for the unknown plant model and use this model for designing the controller. The hybrid adaptive control combined direct and indirect adaptive control based on TSK fuzzy model is constructed. The direct adaptive law can be showed by ignoring the identification errors and fails to achieve parameter convergence. Thus, we propose an TSK fuzzy model based hybrid adaptive (HA) law combined of the tracking error and the model ins error to adjust the parameters. Using a Lyapunov synthesis approach, the proposed hybrid adaptive control is proved. The hybrid adaptive law (HA) is better than the direct adaptive (DA) method without identifying the model ins error in terms of faster and improved tracking and parameter convergence. In order to show the applicability of the proposed method, it is applied to the inverted pendulum system and the performance is verified by some simulation results.

휠-트랙 하이브리드 모바일 플랫폼을 위한 지형 적응성 장애물 극복 자세 제어기 개발 (Development of Terrain-Adaptive Attitude Controller for Hybrid Mobile Platform with Wheel & Track)

  • This paper describes terrain-adaptive attitude controller for a hybrid mobile platform which operates in wheel & track mode. The wheel mode of the hybrid mobile platform allows quick driving performance in the flatland, while the track mode provides adaptive movement in the rough ground or stairway. The switching of the platform between two modes is automatically controlled by attitude controller algorithm. In addition, in the track mode, the platform automatically adjusts its attitude angle to overcome the obstacles in front. This paper demonstrates the attitude controller for the aforementioned wheel-track hybrid mobile platform in order to overcome terrain obstacles by using an adaptive method. The driving performance of the hybrid mobile platform has been tested and verified in various surrounding environments in both wheel and track mode. Further, this paper presents the experiments by using the track structure of mobile platform on forming adaptive attitude under various types of obstacles. The practicability and effectiveness of the proposed attitude controller of the platform has been demonstrated in urban building and a test-bed.

Hybrid Adaptive Volterra Filter Robust to Nonlinear Distortion

  • In this paper, the new hybrid adaptive Volterra filter was proposed to be applied for compensating the nonlinear distortion of memoryless nonlinear systems with saturation characteristics. Through computer simulations as well as the analytical analysis, it could be shown that it is possible for both conventional Volterra filter and proposed hybrid Volterra filter, to be applied for linearizing the memoryless nonlinear system with nonlinear distortion. Also, the simulations results demonstrated that the proposed hybrid filter may have faster convergence speed and better capability of compensating the nonlinear distortion than the conventional Volterra filter.

  • In this paper, we propose a hybrid d-step predictor which is composed of an adaptive predictor and a Kalman predictor. We prove the performance limit of the proposed predictor. Simulation is conducted to examine the performance of the proposed predictor. Simulation results show that the proposed combined predictor is superior to the adaptive predictor and the Kalman predictor. Proposed predictor is used for prediction of gun tip vibration of k1 tank. The result is compared with that of conventional adaptive predictor.

  • This paper proposes an adaptive hybrid genetic algorithm (aHGA) for effectively solving the complex reliability optimization problems. The proposed aHGA uses a loca1 search technique and an adaptive scheme for respectively constructing hybrid algorithm and adaptive ability. For more various comparisons with the proposed adaptive algorithm, other aHGAs with conventional adaptive schemes are considered. These aHGAs are tested and analyzed using two complex reliability optimization problems. Numerical result shows that the proposed aHGA outperforms the other competing aHGAs.

  • The performance of 2-frame PTV(particle tracking velocimetry) system was improved using an adaptive hybrid scheme. The original 2-frame PTV method based on the match probability concept employs global match parameters for the entire flow field. Since this does not reflect fully the detailed local velocity change, it sometimes reduces the recovery rate of velocity vectors and increases the number of erroneous vectors in the region where an extraordinary flow structure exists. In this study, the preliminary FFT-based PIV results are used as an input parameter to determine the local match parameters needed for the 2-frame particle tracking algorithm. A computer simulation using synthetic particle images was carried out to study the performance of the adaptive 2-frame PTV technique. The adaptive hybrid method shows the better performance with increasing the velocity vector recovery rate and decreasing the computation time, compared to the original 2-frame PTV method.

  • IN ADAPTIVE LINEAR PREDICTION, AN ADAPTIVE CAPABILITY IS BUILT INTO THE PROCESSOR SUCH THAT AS THE IMAGE STATISTICS CHANGE, THE PREDICTION FILTER COEFFICIENTS THEMSELVES CHANGE, PRODUCING A NEW FILTER MORE CLOSELY OPTIMIZED TO THE NEW SET OF IMAGES STATISTICS. THE LMS ALGORITHM MAY BE USED TO ADAPT THE COEFFICIENT OF AN ADAPTIVE PREDICTION FILTER FOR IMAGE SOURCE ENCODING. IN THIS PAPER, TWO CODING SYSTEMS USING DPCM AND LMS ALGORITHMS RESPECTIVELY FOR OBTAINING THE FIRST TRANSFORMED COEFFICIENT IN HYBRID CODING ARE COMPARED.
