  • The reactive and harmonic current components of dc loads can be compensated by the three-phase hybrid power filter (HPF) system. After compensation, the resulting current has sinusoidal and in-phase components with the source voltage. The HPF system is constructed by an active filter and passive filters. The passive filter reduce the 5th and 7th harmonic of the load current. The active filter compensates the remainder of the load current. Using the HPF system, a low cost harmonic compensator can be made. Performance of the HPF system is verified through simulation,

예인 음탐기용 케이블 개발 (Development of Cable for Towed Array Sonar System)

  • Cables for Towed Array Sonar System(TASS) were developed. In order to verify the performance of cables, environmental and operational conditions as well as functional requirements were investigated during design stage. Double armored high and low voltage integrated cable for towed body and two kinds of cables, armored and light weight power and optic hybrid cables for towed array sensor system were developed by modeling and simulation. Customized manufacturing process and test method, such as foam extrusion and dynamic fatigue test were applied to this development. In conclusion, underwater towed hybrid cable with high tensile strength and compact structure were developed.

  • Even though corrugated boards are the most common packaging materials for agricultural products, conventional corrugated boards are not able to maintain the freshness of agricultural products. In order to overcome the limitations of conventional corrugated boards, a new hybrid corrugated board-composed of linerboard, a corrugating medium, and non-woven fabric-was designed to possess antibacterial, high porous and shock-absorbing properties. In this study, we compared the physical properties of non-woven fabric to those of the base papers of conventional corrugated boards and developed a new adhesive system as a first step toward manufacturing the hybrid corrugated board. We found that the non-woven fabric, which had relatively high elongation, was applicable in the corrugated board process, and that the manufacturing conditions must be controlled in order to prevent the break of the non-woven fabric. The mixture of starch and styrene-butadiene (SB) latex showed high adhesive strength, but the addition level of SB latex should not exceed 30% in starch solution.

  • In bone tissue engineering, polycaprolactone (PCL) is one of the most widely used biomaterials to manufacture scaffolds as a synthetic polymer with biodegradability and biocompatibility. The polymer deposition system (PDS) with four axis heads, which can dispense bio-polymers, has been used in scaffold fabrication for tissue engineering applications. A dual-head deposition technology of PDS is an effective technique to fabricate 3D scaffolds. The electrospinning technology has been widely used to fabricate porous and highly interconnected polymer fibers. Thus, PDS can fabricate nanofiber-combined hybrid scaffolds using fused deposition modeling (FDM) and electrospinning methods. This study aims to fabricate nanofiber-combined scaffolds with uniform nanofibers using PDS. The PCL nanofibers were fabricated and evaluated according to the fabrication process parameters. PCL nanofibers were successfully fabricated when the applied voltage, tip-to-collector distance, flow rate, and solution concentration were 5 kV, 1 cm, 0.1 ml/h, and 8 wt%, respectively. The cell proliferation was evaluated according to the electrospinning time. Scanning electron microscopy was used to acquire images of the cross-sectioned hybrid scaffolds. The cell proliferation test of the PCL and nanofiber-combined hybrid scaffolds was performed using a CCK-8 assay according to the electrospinning time. The result of in-vitro cell proliferation using osteosarcoma MG-63 cells shows that the hybrid scaffold has good potential for bone regeneration.

AI7075/CFRP 하이브리드 복합재료의 기계적강도 평가에 관한 연구 (A Study on Mechanical Strength in AI7075/CFRP Hybrid Composite)

  • The combined structure of hybrid composite made through the bonding process of materials of different properties greatly defines its mechanical characteristics, as the results of the experiments on materials of different properties show much dissimilarity. When carbon/epoxy materials are applied to hybrid composite, the carbon materials helps to improve the mechanical properties of the hybrid composite, and the epoxy reduces its fracture strain and impact resistance. Carbon fiber which is now in general commercialization is classified as high modulus or high strength system, and its manufacturing methods are various. The study of the materials having combined structure is focused on the numerical analysis of the layers of bonding surface in materials with difference modulus. The hybrid composite made through the multilayered bonding of reinforced aluminium sheets with aramid fiber now faces the marketing phase, and especially its excellent fatigue resistance and mechanical properties promote active researches on the similar products of hybrid composite. This study aims to investigate the effects of CFRP volume ratio and fiber's orientation over the properties of mechanical strength and fatigue life of the hybrid composite, AI7075/CFRP. To carry out this study, static tensile and fatigue tests were given to some of the panels which, made through the co-cure processing in an autoclave, have different CFRP volume ratio and carbon fiber orientations.

  • After introducing Hybrid Bonding technology into image sensors using stacked sensors and image processors, large quantity production became possible. As a result, it is currently used in most of the CMOS image market in smartphones and other image-based devices worldwide, and almost all stacked CIS manufacturing sites have focused on miniaturization using hybrid bonding. In this study, an upper wafer handling module for Wafer to Wafer Hybrid Bonding developed to increase the alignment and precision between wafers when wafer bonding. The module was divided two parts to reduce error of both the alignment and degree of precision during wafer bonding. Wafer handling module developed both new Tip/Tilt system controlling θx,θy of upper wafer and striker to push upper wafer. Based on this, it was confirmed through the stability evaluation that the upper wafer handling module can be controlled without any problem during W2W hybrid bonding.

  • An intelligent software system which can support efficiently and systematically machine tool design by utilizing deign knowledge is described in this paper. The process of embodiment design of a machining center was modelled represented by IDEF0 and embedded in the system. A hybrid type inference engine has been introduced so that the system can effec-tively deal with knowledge represented in diversified forms The design system was developed on the basis of object-ori-ented programming and has been coded into one software system which can be ported on Windows NT.

Modified hybrid vision correction algorithm을 활용한 상수관망 최적설계 (Optimal design of water distribution system using modified hybrid vision correction algorithm)

  • 상수관망 최적설계는 사용자가 설정한 목적에 따라 다양하게 사용된다. 상수관망 최적설계는 비용의 최소화 및 관의 제작 시 발생하는 에너지 최소화 등 목적이 다양하게 존재한다. 본 연구에서는 Modified Hybrid Vision Correction Algorithm (MHVCA)을 기반으로 다양한 상수관망에 대한 비용 최적설계를 진행하였다. 또한 새로운 평가지표인 Best Rate (BR)를 제안하였다. BR은 K-mean Clustering Algorithm을 기반으로 개발된 평가지표이다. BR을 통해 상수관망 최적설계에 사용된 각 알고리즘의 최적 설계안 탐색 가능성에 대한 비교를 하였다. 다양한 관망에 대한 MHVCA의 최적설계 결과를 Vision Correction Algorithm (VCA) 및 Hybrid Vision Correction Algorithm (HVCA)과 비교하였다. MHVCA는 VCA 및 HVCA보다 낮은 비용의 설계안을 탐색하였다. 또한 MHVCA는 낮은 비용의 설계안을 탐색할 확률이 VCA 및 HVCA보다 높았다. MHVCA는 본 연구에서 적용한 비용 최소화를 위한 상수관망 최적설계 뿐만이 아닌 다양한 목적을 위한 상수관망 최적설계에 적용할 경우 좋은 결과를 나타낼 수 있을 것이다.

Development of a Plate-Fin Type Gas Turbine Recuperator

  • A plate-fin type recuperator for a gas turbine/fuel cell hybrid power generation system was designed, manufactured, and tested. Performance analysis shows that the performance of the system is directly affected by the performance of the recuperator. Therefore, the recuperator should be designed and manufactured carefully, and its performance should be tested and verified before it is integrated into the system. In this paper, the developing procedure including designing, manufacturing, and testing of a cross flow plate-fin type recuperator was presented. Performance test results showed that the design requirements of the recuperator were almost satisfied. Based on the test results, improved design to reduce the size of the recuperator was suggested.

  • The objective of this paper is to present a framework for an expert system for fault diagnosis in an FMS (Flexible Manufacturing Systyem). First, a system is analyzed structurally and functionally, giving the relationships between the system's components. These relationships, represented by strata, are are then stored in a deep knowledge base (DKB). Next, the specific knowledge, represented by echelons, about the symptoms and their probable causes for each component is stored in a shallow knowledge base (SKB) in the form of rule. When the fault diagnosis process begins, it starts to search the DKB and then the SKB, which is called hybrid reasoning in artificial intelligence.
