Objectives : The purpose of this study is to report the effect of Hwangryunhaedoktang-Gamibang on Postmenopausal Hot Flushes. Methods : This case study was done on 3 Postmenopausal Hot Flush patients who have visited Korean Medicine Clinic. Hwangryunhaedoktang-Gamibang was prescribed to all 3 patients and evaluated the symptom change through photographs and questionnaire. Investigator's Global Assessment(IGA) was used to evaluate the objective symptom and Visual Analogue Scale(VAS) was used to evaluate the subjective change. Results & Conclusions : The IGA and VAS were decreased in all patients. Most symptoms of 3 patients were improved. As a result of examining IGA, VAS scores and photographs, Hwangryunhaedoktang-Gamibang can be effective on Postmenopausal hot flush.

Hwangryunhaedoktang is one of the prescriptions used in traditional medicine for skin diseases. In this study, Hwangryunhaedoktang-Gamibang (HG) was fermented with Lactiplantibacillus plantarum, a probiotic lactic acid bacterium, to evaluate its potential as a functional cosmetic composition. Strains with anti-inflammatory activity were selected by isolating lactic acid bacteria from kimchi, a traditional Korean fermented food. HG was inoculated with lactic acid bacteria and the viability was measured. The supernatant was obtained by centrifugation of fermented Hwangryunhaedoktang-Gamibang (HGF) and HG, and the filtered supernatant was freeze-dried and used in the experiment. By measuring DPPH and ABTS scavenging activity, it was confirmed that the antioxidant activity was increased. RAW264.7 cells were inoculated with HG and HGF to confirm anti-inflammatory activity through NO assay, and production levels of pro-inflammatory cytokines (IL-1β, IL-6, and TNF-α) were measured through ELISA assay. It was confirmed that HGF had a greater decrease in production than HG. Through lactobacilli fermentation, the beneficial probiotic properties and antioxidant and pro-inflammatory activities of lactic acid bacteria suggest potential clinical or technical applications.

Objectives : This study was performed1 to assess the effectiveness of HwangryunHaedokTang-gamibang on Obesity with atopic dermatitis. Methods : Patients were treated by HwangryunHaedokTang-gamibang. To measure treatment outcomes, BMI, weight, Fat mass, Fat %, VAS scale, SCORAD index were used. Results : After treatment, BMI, weight, Fat mass, Fat% were significantly decreased. Atopic dermatitis VAS and SCORAD index were also decreased at all cases. Conclusions: HwangryunHaedokTang-gamibang may be effective in the treatment of Obesity with atopic dermatitis patients.

Objectives: The purpose of this study is to analyse the domestic trends of Traditional Korean Medicine on Hot flush in menopausal women. Methods: We searched six databases and selected relevant papers according to the criteria. Results: 12 papers included case report, literature review, randomized controlled clinical trials (RCTs), Non-RCTs, and retrospective chart analysis study design. 1. The daily diary, Kupperman's Index, Menopause Rating Scale, Menopause-specific Quality of Life Questionnaire, Digital Infrared Thermographic Imaging were used as a measure of the symptoms of hot flush. 2. There were significant correlations between Thermographic images, Pulse energy, Lifestyle Habits, Low frequency power/High frequency power (LF/HF) ratio and certain items of Menopausal Symptoms Measurement. 3. The case report using Er-Xian decoction and Hwangryunhaedoktang-Gamibang showed significant effect. 4. Domestic RCT studies using herbal or acupuncture treatments showed a significant value of 3.4 on average in the quality assessment conducted in the study. However, the number of domestic studies included was five, which is not enough compared to foreign countries. Conclusions: This study examined domestic research trends on hot flushes of menopausal women and found that various evaluation tools and diagnostic methods were applied. It is necessary to conduct various RCT studies in Korea, where the number of studies is insufficient compared to overseas.
