Recently, interest in eco-friendly structure has been increased and many researches about hwang-toh are being actively processed. However, most researches are about material properties of hwang-toh, and researches about structural performance are insufficient. Moreover, the usability of activated hwang-toh is being identified in some ways, but its use rate is low in economic aspect in reality. Non-activated hwang-toh is expected to be advantageous in respect of economy but its material and structural performance have not been identified. Therefore, the effect of activated hwang-toh and non-activated hwang-toh on flexural capacity of hwang-toh concrete beam is analyzed in this research.

Purpose : The purpose of this article is to make a clarification that Hwang Doyeon(黃度淵) was a official doctor(醫官) who even served as royal doctor(御醫), rather than merely a general doctor who worked in the private sector. The article also attempts to give a new perspective on the medical history about the late period of Joseon(朝鮮) Dynasty. Methods : In researching Hwang Doyeon's master work, the Gains and Losses of Medical Orthodoxy(醫宗損益), the article looks at his clinical medicines. Analyzing the historical records, the article makes an assumption that Hwang Doyeon and Hwang Dosoon(黃道淳), who was selected as an officer to discuss medicine with other medical officers(議藥同參), are the identical person. On this assumption, the article tries to reinterpret the medicine during the later Joseon Dynasty period. Result & Conclusion : The records, including the royal medical treatment records of the Gains and Losses of Medical Orthodoxy, the Daily Records of Royal Secretariat(承政院日記), the genealogy of Changwon Hwangs(昌原黃氏世譜), academic paper and government documents released posthumously, demonstrated that Hwang Doyeon and Hwang Dosoon are the same person. If so, we can have new historical interpretation about medical history of late Joseon Dynasty. First, during the late of Joseon Dynasty, there was an official and active medical knowledge interaction between government and private sector. Second, the Joseon's medicine has been established its own medical system based on the Treasured Mirror of Eastern Medicine(東醫寶鑑), trying to cope with cholera and other contemporary epidemics without relying on Chinese warm disease(溫病) medicine. Third, the Compilation of Formulas and Medicinals(方藥合編), is regarded not only as a must-read medical reading for medical doctors, also playing an important role on popularization of Korean medical knowledge.

Mast cells play an important role in the pathophysiologlcal changes observed in acute cutaneous and inflammatory diseases In order to see whether Kum-Hwang-San has an influence on mast cell- mediated immediate cutaneous reactions, the author has undertaken an animal study. Ears of mice were treated with a compound 48/80 solution topically at 30 min after the cutaneous application of Kum-Hwang-San. At each point, an ear swelling response was measured with a digimatic thickness micrometer. Ear swelling response induced by compound 48/80 was significantly suppressed dose-dependently by Kum-Hwang-San 30 min before topical application as compared with that in nonapplicated control mice, and the value returned to normal levels by 120 min. Compound 48/80- induced mast cell degranulation by Kum-Hwang-San was also remarkably decreased in accordance with the suppression in ear swelling response. Kum-Hwang-San dose-dependently inhibited histamine release from the rat peritoneal mast cells activated by compound 48/80. Another way to test acute cutaneous reaction is to induce passive cutaneous anaphylactic reaction. Kum-Hwang-San significantly inhibited passive cutaneous anaphylactic reaction activated by anti-dinitrophenyl IgE on both topical application and intradermal injection. Kum-Hwang-San also inhibited histamine release from the rat peritoneal mast cells induced by anti-DNP IgE. This study provides evidence that Kum-Hwang-San will be beneficial in the treatment of acute cutaneous diseases.

The purpose of this paper is to clarify the life and poetry of Dokshok Hwang Hyok. In Chapter 2, we looked at the life of Hwang Hyok. There are two characteristics in the life of Hwang Hyok. First, Hwang Hyok had excellent literary talent. Secondly, Hwang Hyok wrote in an attempt to surrender during the Japanese Invasion of Japan. That is why he lived a 21 year detained life. In Chapter 3, we looked at poetry based on the life of Hwang Hyok. The features of poetry are as follows. First, the image of Somu and reality of Tiger and Dhole go around. Hwang Hyok lived a confined life because of the Japanese Invasion of Korea. Because of that, Hwang Hyok recognized the Japanese invasion of the Imperial Japan as a world where Dhole and tigers travel around. It symbolized the image of Sommu that he did not surrender. Second, Changsha, is the world and Gulwon images. Changsha is Gulwon the space of self-destruction. Hwang Hyok likened his dark life to Gulwon dead. This is because Hwang Hyok's life is similar to Gulwon's life. In other words, Hwang Hyok was most appropriate to compare his tough life to Gulwon, who drowned in Myeoglasu.

This research tried to analyze the effects of ecological materials 'hwang-toh (yellow soil)' on indoor environments. For this purpose, two full scale mock-ups were constructed: one with silk wall paper, which is generally used for indoor finishing and the other with hwang-toh, which is the ecological material for wall finishing. Comparison and performance evaluations were conducted, and the effects of hwang-toh finishing on a humid indoor environment were verified. Through this research, it was verified that a hwang-toh plaster finish is effective in maintaining the comfort of an indoor environment.

Objectives : The aim of the study was to investigate the antihypertensive effect of Hwang-gu Acupuncture in hypertensive patients. Methods : We measured the blood pressure of the patients who were admitted in the Oriental Medical Clinic of Brother from 25th November 2005 to 27th March 2006. We included the patients only in case of the systolic blood pressure was over 140mmHg or diastolic blood pressure was over 90mmHg, Twenty two patients were treated by Hwang-gu Acupuncture. In order to evaluate the effect of the Hwang-gu Acupuncture, the blood pressure was measured before and after Acupuncture procedure total 4 times, 10times. Results : There were a significant decrease in the systolic blood pressure and significant decrease in the diastolic blood pressure by Hwang-gu Acupuncture 4 times. The effect of Hwang-gu Acupuncture by measurement time on blood pressure were follows: In a systolic blood pressure was gradually deceased significantly from 1st to 4th but diastolic blood pressure was significantly decreased after 2nd and 4th only. Conclusions : These results suggest that Hwang-gu Acupuncture is effective in decreasing the systolic and diastolic blood pressure.

This article is to review academic aspects of Iljae Lee Hang through Toegye Lee Hwang's comments. Iljae Lee Hang (一齋 李恒: 1499~1576) is a representative Neo-Confucian scholar in Honam area in 16th century. His Sung Confucianism was known to Toegye Lee Hwang by Gobong Gi Dae Seung and consequentially received attention from academic world. Lee Hang's Sung Confucianism, however, has hardly drawn attention since 17th century due to Lee Hwang's negative assessment. Impeaching Lee Hang's academic attitude and methods, Lee Hwang evaluated him as having many problems. Lee Hwang criticized that Lee Hang studied Neo-Confucianism with no great effort and he was so much confident to say 'Logic of the world does not deviate from this' based on Chengzi and Zhuzi's saying which was only appealing to his ideas. Lee Hang actually cited theories of Chengzi and Zhuzi and stressed self-complacency when necessary, which therefore made him fail to exhibit consistency. Iljae partly brought Lee Hwang's criticism upon himself. Lee Hwang's negative assessment is not to be literally accepted but his assessment is helpful indeed to critically examine Lee Hang's Neo-Confucianism.

1. Purpose A branch of acupuncture is to be tender at the sasang contitutional medicine. So studying 『HwangJeNaiKyung』, we find the commencement of sasangin-acupuncture that Dong-Mu was not discovered. 2. Method We select the constitutional acupuncture of 『HwangJeNaiKyung』, and analysis that. 3. Result We can find the constitutional acupuncture of 『HwangJeNaiKyung』 as follows. The first, Acu-point of each constitution is not mentioned. The second, Acupuncture comparing with HyungJiGoRak(形志苦樂) of 『HwangJeNaiKyung』 is effective at mind-treatment. The third, the response of acupuncture supply the commencement that can devide YangIn(陽人) and EumIn(陰人). The forth, according to the fatness and the thinness it must be different with the depth of acupuncture and the time of acupuncture. The fifth, according to the HanYeulHeuSil(寒熱虛實) of constitution, there can be different the depth of acupuncture, the time of acupuncture and the count of acupuncture. But throuth 『HwangJeNaiKyung』 we can not find the commencement of the theory of Dong-Mu's SeungGangWanSok(升降緩束).

Objective : The purpose of this study was to analyze the effects of HwangRyunHaeDok-Tang and combinations of constituent herbs on the arterial contraction. Methods : In order to investigate the effects Scutellariae Radix. Coptidis Rhizoma, Phellodendri Cortex and Gardeniae Fructus, in which one of them, two of them, and all of them, were used to exam. Results : The results were summarized as follows; 1. HwangRyunHaeDok-Tang significantly inhibited the contraction of artery induced by Norepinephrine(NE). However the atonic effect was slightly blunted when the vascular endothelial cell was removed. No significant change in the atonic effect of HwangRyunHaeDok-Tang was found when $_L-NNA$ was used as a preliminary treatment. These results indicate that the vascular atonic effect by HwangRyunHaeDok-Tang is slightly dependent on the endothelial cell, and that the HwangRyunHaeDok-Tang works directly to the vascular smooth muscle in creating the vascular atonic effect. 2. The pretreatment of HwangRyunHaeDok-Tang extract significantly inhibited the contractile response to additive application of $Ca^{2+}$ in the strips which were contracted by NE in $Ca^{2+}$-free solution. 3. HwangRyunHaeDok-Tang extract increased the contraction of arterial smooth muscle induced by KCl. Therefore, it can be concluded that HwangRyunHaeDok-Tang may block the NE-receptor or receptor-operated $Ca^{2+}$ channel. 4. It was determined that Scutellariae Radix, Coptidis Rhizoma and Phellodendri Cortex among the ingredients of HwangRyunHaeDok-Tang have a vascular atonic effect. In addition, those ingredients plays a role in strengthening the atonic effect by working with other herbal medicines. Gardeniae Fructus causes the blood vessel to contract. but it does not influence the atonic effects of other herbal medicines. However Gardeniae Fructus tends to inhibit the vascular atonic effect of Phellodendri Cortex. Conclusion : Based on the above results, it can be said that HwangRyunHaeDok-Tang can be applied to cure hypertension considering those three herbs have significant effects of relaxation.

We will be able to use Hwang-Chil to cure and develop various disease that require tissue regeneration. such as osteoporosis and bone fracture and be used in the orthopedic area. In this study. we observed the effect of Hwang-Chil extract and concentration on osteoblast proliferation. alkaline phosphatase(ALP) activity and calcification. (omitted)
