Intelligent Air Quality Sensor System with Back Propagation Neural Network in Automobile

  • The Air Quality Sensor(AQS), located near the fresh air inlet, serves to reduce the amount of pollution entering the vehicle cabin through the HVAC(heating, ventilating, and air conditioning) system by sending a signal to close the fresh air inlet door/ventilation flap when the vehicle enters a high pollution area. One chip sensor module which include above two sensing elements, humidity sensor and bad odor sensor was developed for AQS (air quality sensor) in automobile. With this sensor module, PIC microcontroller was designed with back propagation neural network to reduce detecting error when the motor vehicles pass through the dense fog area. The signal from neural network was modified to control the inlet of automobile and display the result or alarm the situation. One chip microcontroller, Atmega128L (ATmega Ltd., USA) was used. For the control and display. And our developed system can intelligently detect the bad odor when the motor vehicles pass through the polluted air zone such as cattle farm.

  • Personal computer based measurement and control system was constructed and tested in order to fiexibly apply it to laboratoy experiments in which environmental factors such as temperature, humidity, pH, DO and gases should be measured and controlled. Personal computer FC-80 was successively interfaced to the input-output system made up of PPI, A/D converter, D/A converter, programmable timer and USART boards. To test the system, pH control experiment was executed and the pH of the solution could be measured, expressed on the monitor and controlled at constant value.

  • Water management is important in proton exchange membrane fuel cell because the water balance has a significant impact on the overall fuel cell system performance. In fuel cell vehicle, the vehicle's power demand is dynamic; therefore, the dynamic water management system is required. This present study proposes a method to control the humidity of the input air in cathode side of the fuel cell vehicle. The simulation using several driving cycles shows the proposed air humidification control obtains a relatively good result. The liquid saturation level is seen constant at the target level although still there are small deviations at driving cycles which having averagely high power demands.

  • The zone of greenhouse in Korea increase on a scale yearly. Particularly, greenhouse take up a important value on the agriculture economy. Greenhouse of scale, material, heating system, and drain is progressing to industrialization. The dry bulb temperature, humidity, photosynthesis and so forth are necessary to maintain environment control of greenhouse. The dry bulb temperature among them greatly affects growing of a plant. The purpose of this study is to analyzed the indoor environment control system and the characteristic of dry bulb temperature distribution on a large scale greenhouse in summer season.

  • In this paper, we designed IOT(Internet of Things) based hydroponic plant factory in order to avoid the effects of fine dust penetrating into the soil, and proposed the PLC(Programmable Logic Controller) control methods. The designed plant factory could monitor the density of oxygen, the density of nutrient solution, temperature and humidity through touch screen and smart phone, and control the heater and cooler, ventilation and dehumidifier, and wavelengths of LEDs to grow plant in appropriate environments.

  • This study was carried out to develope dehumidifier using underground water for controling moisture in greenhouse. The dehumidifier was designed as horizontal shell type condenser, and experiment was carried out with evaporative cooling system. In shading condition, evaporative cooling with the dehumidifier makes decrease of relative humidity and temperature in the down place of greenhouse than without dehumidifier, so it is expect that the dehumidifier is useful for effective evaporative cooling.

  • Recently, a cement plays an important roll in the materials field. So, in this research we would like to study on the properties of waste gas reduction in the photocatalytic cement. The fundamental phenomena of waste gas reduction in the photocatalytic cement were observed by the NOx analyzer with reaction chamber, UV Lamp, MFC, and humidity control bath. As a result of this study, the photocatalytic cement used photocatalytic powder, admixture and other materials can obtain NOx gas reduction and its photocatalytic efficiency. Developing for the photocatalytic cement, we need a various study.

  • This is to provide basic information and technical data, supported by literature search, for use in designing and /or evaluating ventilation systems for broiler shelters. At first, the general design information including weather data, building requirements, ventilation requirements, and supplemental heating and cooling, was presented. Then, environment requirements for broilers, which are for temperature, humidity, air movement, radiant heat, were described and the optimal ventilation systems for broiler were developed.
