  • This is a pilot study on rural women's psychological trap to define some obstacles to self directed learning. During few decades, according to major crop of each farm household has shifted from rice to other crops like as vegetables, fruits, horticultures, livestock, etc., women's role or labor sharing of women in farming has been also increased. Although women are important human resources, till now, there is no a research or an approach to rural woman on the view of individual human being. Therefore this study will contribute to understand woman's behavior or attitudes based on psychological description at each person's experiences. For this study, the data was collected from 23 women leaders who participated in a training course in 2005, through the scale of Jeffrey E. Young & Janet S. Klosko which was developed to improvement of one's repetitious behavior based on cognitive psychological care. It was categorized into 11types of psychological trap of one person, named as follows; (1) trap of being deserted by someone (2) trap of disbelief and being ill-treated (3) trap of weakness (4) trap of dependence (5) trap of emotional deprivation (6) trap of feelings of alienation among society (7) trap of deficiency (8) trap of anxiety to failure (9) trap of subordination (10) trap of the merciless standard by self-estimation (11) trap of the sense of privilege. From the data, the average age of subjects was 52.8years old, and the educational back of subjects was higher than general rural women. In both of the trap of weakness and the trap of the merciless standard by self-estimation, the ratio of over and 4 point score of 6 points was 71.4% and 76.2%. It means most of subjects have experienced fear of unexpected calamity(trap of weakness), and mental press hard for efforts to meet one's ideal standard(trap of the merciless standard by self-estimation). Especially the trap of the merciless standard by self-estimation may have relation with rural women's over burden from farming and local society activities.

  • Tanzania is a coastal state on the western Indian Ocean in Africa. In an artisanal or small scale fishery, the combination of large numbers of fishers and landing places, mixed gears and migrant fishers makes fisheries management an often complex task. Lack of capital, low level of technology, poverty and high cost of transport are major socio-economic problems in Tanzanian fisheries. The combined approach of community-based management and provision of education and training for extension workers and fishers themselves are required. It is also necessary to build the capacity of fisheries institutions to meet the human resources development challenge.

  • The demand for specialized human resources capable of bringing about highly advanced logistics systems and the integration of logistics centers situated in local hubs, has been on the rise. Logistics industry requires more of a systematic mind set, endless innovation, and the navigation of uncharted waters than the logistics industry. This study lays out the reasons for the importance of developing human resources in the logistics industry, and then carries out an evaluation of the current state of human resources development in that particular field in Korea. This study found that there is not only a shortage in terms of the courses needed to develop the skills required to carry out the core activities associated with the logistics sector, but also that students' ability to speak English and Chinese, which are ubiquitous in the international logistics industry, was also wanting. There is a need for the study of logistics at the university level to be based on practical applications rather than theoretical ones.

  • This study is to make LCIA(Life Cycle Impact Assessment) easier as a methodology of environmental scores(called E-score) that integrated environmental load of each emission substance based on environmental damage such as in human health, ecosystem and resources category. The concept is to analyzes the LCI(Life Cycle Inventory) and defines the level of environment damages for human health, ecosystem and resources to objective impact assessment standard, and makes the base of marginal damage to calculate the damage factor, which can present the indication that can establish the standard value of environmental impact. First, damages to human health are calculated by fate analysis, effect analysis and damage analysis to get the damage factor of health effect as a DALY(Disability Adjusted Life Years) unit. Second, damages to ecosystem are calculated by fate analysis, effect analysis and damage analysis to get the damage factor of the effect as a PDF(Potentially Disappeared Fraction) unit through linking potentially increased disappeared fraction. Third, damages to resources are carried out by resource analysis and damage analysis for linking the lower fate to surplus energy conception to get damage factor as a MJ(Mega Joule) unit. For the ranking of relative environment load level each other, LCIA can be carried out effectively by applying this E-score methodology to the particular emission substances. A case study has been introduced for the emission substances coming out of a tire manufacturer in Korea. It is to show how to work the methodology. Based on such study result, product-designers or producers now can apply the E-scores presented in this study to the substances of emission list, and then calculate the environment load of the product or process in advance at any time and can see the environment performance comparatively and expected to contribute to the environmental improvement in view of environmental pollution prevention.

  • Plant secondary metabolites have always been a focus of study due to their important roles in human medicine and nutrition. We transferred the isoflavone synthase (IFS) gene into soybean [Glycine max (L.) Merr.] using the Agrobacterium-mediated transformation method in an attempt to produce transformed soybean plants which produced increased levels of the secondary metabolite, isoflavone. Although the trial to produce transgenic plant failed due to unestablished hygromycin selection, transformed callus cell lines were obtained. The induction rate and degree of callus were similar among the three cultivars tested, but light illumination positively influenced the frequency of callus formation, resulting in a callus induction rate of 74% for Kwangan, 67% for Sojin, and 73% for Duyou. Following seven to eight subcultures on selection media, the isoflavone content of the transformed callus lines were analyzed by high-performance liquid chromatography. The total amount of isoflavone in the transformed callus cell lines was three- to sixfold higher than that in control callus or seeds. Given the many positive effects of isoflavone on human health, it may be possible to adapt our transformed callus lines for industrialization through an alternative cell culture system to produce high concentrations of isoflavones.

  • New occupational qualification system built on NCS(National Competency Standard) aimed to induce industries, the final appliers of qualification, to play a leading role in designing qualification and to spontaneously apply such qualification standard to employment and promotion so as to reinforce universality of qualification. In this study, we verified the validity of NCS level of qualification categories for 130 occupational fields by redesigning NCS-based new occupational qualification system with a focus on 7 major areas, including mechanical field, which were found to have wide-ranging social ripple effect throughout society and high acceptability in 2014. The results of study on suitability at qualification level suggested the followings: First, there is a difference in number of competency units for each qualification category, depending on area. New qualification covering 7 major areas included 15.3 competency units for each qualification category, which exceeds the number of competency units(about 10 units) in subdivided NCS. By field, some difference was found with 7.9 competency units for cultural field and 22.6 competency units for information and communication area. Second, preference above normal level was observed in the criteria, procedure and method for determining qualification redesigning. However, preference below normal level was exhibited in connection with possibility of linkage with overseas qualifications, although preference was above normal level in relation to the suitability of design/qualification level and qualification categories based on lifelong career development path within scope of NCS as the criteria for determining the redesign of qualification categories. Second, we compared NCS level and SC(Sector Council level, and the results showed that NCS level was found to be somewhat well-defined. For the qualifications with different definitions, it was deemed difficult to determine superiority between NCS level and SC level. However, majority opinion indicated that it would be desirable to follow NCS level because NCS was created through collection of opinions for a prolonged period.

  • This paper covers a series of activities including initial proposal and actual development for the performance improvement of large-scale public facility management system under the application of green IT concept, which finally produced various excellent results in the administration of expense control, human resources, and general affairs. Actual development procedure starts from the analysis required by system users with the purpose of finding cost reduction opportunities under the application of green IT concept, which is followed by a series of activities including making a proposal for performance improvement, the development of trial system and the actual application into real system. As an example of large-scale public facility management system, national qualification management system was taken in order to convert the existing individual test storage unit into on-line storage space equipped with reinforced security function, resulting in acquisition of efficient productivity and greater savings in human resources as well as general expenses. A comparison with existing system and newly developed system was made in the area of number of operators, abnormal processing, system maintenances. It proved that efficiency increased to the minimum of 2 times and to the maximum 12 times with the 5 million savings of personal storage unit.
