  • Automatic service identification and quality evaluation is one of key characteristics for a Service-Oriented Computing, being receiving a lot of attention from researchers in recent years. However, most researchers focus on identifying and evaluating application services and do not present methods for automatically identifying and evaluating business services from business processes. In general, the manual business service identification process by a human expert is a highly expensive and ambiguous task and may result in the service design with bad quality because of errors and misconception. We propose an automatic business service identification and quality evaluation method using Enterprise Architecture as a machine understandable knowledge-base. We verify the effectiveness of the proposed method through a case study on Department of Defense Enterprise Architecture.

  • Purpose: This study was conducted in order to explore home visiting therapists' self-perceived role, problems, and supplement points of the home-based rehabilitation (HR) program based on the community-based rehabilitation (CBR) model. Methods: Four home visiting physical therapists, who conducted the HR program, participated in this study. After completion of the HR program, in-depth interviews were conducted using a semi-structured questionnaire for participants to explore their self-perceived role, problems, and supplement points of the HR program. Results: Participants regarded the role of the HR program as for "the linkage between recipient & society", "maintenance & improvement of recipients' physical function", and "education of recipient about the way of self rehabilitation". The problems and supplement points were derived from all phases of the HR program, including "human & material resources", "training program for human resources for HR service", "selection of recipient of HR service", "contents of the intervention for HR service", and "duration of HR service". Conclusion: These findings indicate that participants well recognized the intention of the HR program based on the CBR model, and suggest that high-quality human resources with rich expertise and experiences, a training program for HR service led by experts, and selection of recipients led by experts are necessary for an effective HR program. In addition, strategies and capacities specified to HR service should be identified, and applied to the training program for human resources for HR service. The results of this study could provide useful information when the government decides on the next guideline for home visiting health service.

(3) The amount of environmentally-friendly food materials purchased by foodservice employees was high, when they had a high LOHAS index. (4) High foodservice quality management items of foodservice employees were 'sanitation management' (3.87 points) and 'human resource management' (3.84 points), whereas 'menu management' (3.57 points) and 'food material and inspection management' (3.61 points) scored low. The operation is optimized by accurate estimation for ongoing situation. And from the accurate estimation, utility operator gain a information about their service quality and problems, So we developed a evaluation tool (Performance Indicators: PI) for service activity of water and wastewater works. The PI was developed in many countries and some international organizations (World Bank, IWA etc.) for service benchmarking. And ISO (international organization for standardization) just has been making a service standard for water and wastewater system (So called ISO/C224). This proceeding for making a service standard is ongoing now and will be launched in 2007. In our study, PI was composed of 6 parts (A human resource, facility management, operation, service quality, finance and environment). To evaluate water utilities, performance indicators for water was consisted of 100 items. Each 2 water utilities were estimated by this performance indicator. From the study, we just know that the performance indicator was a very useful tool to estimate utility service quality. And from the result, it is possible to know the strong and weak point of estimated utilities.

  • Objectives: The aim of this study is to analyze the current status of possession of measurement and analytical instruments at work environment monitoring organizations and their relationships with human resources, including the number of professional engineers and evaluation scores resulting from evaluation programs in 2012. Materials: Data for measurement and analytical instruments were gathered by inspectors who had been assigned by the Korea Occupational Safety and Health Agency(KOSHA) and the Ministry of Employment and Labor(MoEL) during the evaluation program for 2012. Data for 11 monitoring instruments and nice pieces of analytical equipment were collected from 103 organizations. Additional data such as the type of service provides and the number of professional engineers employed were also recorded by the inspectors. Evaluation scores could be acquired from KOSHA. Results: Comprehensive Occupational Health Service Providers showed good operation quality, while University or Hospital Subsidiary and Work Environment Monitoring Organizations recorded relatively poor results. Evaluation scores correlated well with the possession of measurement instruments and human resources for each organization. High yields provided by professional engineers also showed statistically-associated contributions to evaluation scores and monitoring instrument possession. Compared with monitoring instruments, the amount of analytical equipment had little positive impact on organizations' competence. Conclusions: The evaluation results for domestic monitoring organizations revealed that human resources, possession of instruments, and the quality of employees were critical factors for operating the corporations. Each organization should give considerable effort to improving their ability to strengtheninternal quality, resulting in high-yield production for workers and employers by providing improved workplace monitoring services.
