Among several technologies related to human brain, Brain Computer Interface (BCI) system is one of the most notable technologies recently. Conventional BCI for direct communication between human brain and machine are discomfort because normally electroencephalograghy(EEG) signal is measured by using multichannel EEG sensor. In this study, we propose 2-channel EEG sensor-based application control system which is more convenience and low complexity to wear to get EEG signal. EEG sensor module and system algorithm used in this study are developed and designed and one of the BCI methods, Motor Imagery (MI) is implemented in the system. Experiments are consisted of accuracy measurement of MI classification and driving control test. The results show that our simple wearable system has comparable performance with studies using multi-channel EEG sensor-based system, even better performance than other studies.

In this paper force feedback control system is investigated for improving the quality of the haptic feedback in virtual reality applications. We suggested the method of controlling the haptic device and modelling the virtual environment. Haptic device is composed of five bar link structure, voice coil motor, control board, and virtual environment modeling program. We applied voice coil motor in the actuating system for simple structure and easy control. Virtual environment modelling is constructed in PC, and the control signals of the actuators and the encoder data are transferred to the control system through USB. Experiment is performed to evaluate the characteristics of the haptic device.
A patient with respiratory disorders such as a sleep apnea is increasing as the obese patient increase on the modern society. Positive Airway Pressure (PAP) devices are used in curing patient with respiratory disorders and turn out to be efficacious for patients of 75%. However, these devices are required for evaluating their performance to improve their performance by the mechanical breathing simulator. Recently, the mechanical breathing simulator was studied by the real time feedback control. However, the mechanical breathing simulator by an open loop control was specially required in order to analyze the effect of flow rate and pressure after operating the breathing auxiliary devices. Therefore the aims of this study were to make the mechanical breathing simulator by a piston motion and a valve function from the characteristic test of valve and motor, and to duplicate the flow rate and pressure profiles of some breathing patterns: normal and three disorder patterns. The mechanical simulator is composed cylinder, valve, ball screw and the motor. Also, the characteristic test of the motor and the valve were accomplished in order to define the relationship between the characteristics of simulator and the breathing profiles. Then, the flow rate and pressure profile of human breathing patterns were duplicated by the control of motor and valve. The result showed that the simulator reasonably duplicated the characteristics of human patterns: normal, obstructive sleep apnea (OSA), mild hypopnea with snore and mouth expiration patterns. However, we need to improve this simulator in detail and to validate this method for other patterns.
This paper presents the grip force control of myoelectric hand prosthesis according to myoelectric signal generated in the human muscle. The control system consist of a controller for driving DC motor, torque sensor for measuring out torque of motor, slip sensor for detecting slip of torque. The experimental results proved the reliability of proposed control system.
This paper researched the algorithm of robot's walking and action on the basis of robot studied and made at our laboratory and studied how to efficiently control the robot joints by developing wireless Digital Servo Motor using Zigbee Sensor Network Module which is using at wide part recently. I realized the stable walking by adopt Press Sensor at the bottom of robot foot to get stability of walking. Also I let the algorithm calculate the robot movement to make the joint motion and monitored the robot walk to its motion. At this Paper, I studied the method organizing the motion by the each robot walking and measuring the torque applying to the joint. And I also knew that it is possible to make its control and construct hardware more conveniently than them of the existing studied and controling 2Legs Walking Robot by applying it at walking robot and developing wireless servo motor by Zirbee Sensor Network.
This paper presents a robustly adaptive flux observer for speed-sensorless induction motor control. The proposed approach employs additional robustifying signals to cope with the parametric uncertainties instead of designing an estimator, which has been normally used in power electronic drives. For that, the sliding-mode like adaptive controls are designed and their gain parameters are determined so that the observer dynamics are stable in the sense of Lyapunov, and furthermore they can guarantee the robustness against parametric uncertainties in induction motor systems. Estimated rotor speed is to be used to generate feedback control signal for the speed sensorless vector control system. To show the validity and efficiency of the proposed system, simulation results are presented.
In human walking, muscle co-contraction which produces simultaneous activities of multiple muscles is important in motor control mechanism of the central nervous system. This study aims to understand positive and negative covariation mechanism of inter-muscle activities during walking. In this study, we measured electromyography (EMG) in leg muscles. To identify motor modules, we recored EMG from 4 leg muscles bilaterally (the tibialis anterior, medial gastrocnemius, rectus femoris and medial hamstring muscles) and performed non-negative matrix factorization (NMF) and principa component analysis (PCA). Then, we computed covariation values from various combinations between muscles or motor modules and used two-way repeated measures analysis of variance to identify significantly different covariation patterns between muscle combinations. As the results, we found significant differences between covariation values of muscle combinations (p < 0.05). muscle groups within the same motor modules produced the positive covariations. However, there were strong negative covariation between motor modules. There was negative covariation in all muscle combination. Stable inter-module negative covariation suggests that motor modules may be the control unit in the complex motor coordination.

Fuzzy Logic Control immitating human decision making process is a novel control strategy based on expert's experience and knowledge and many process designers are developing its applications. But it is difficult to obtain a set of ruler from human operators. And there is a limitation on adjusting to environmental changes. In this paper, we proposed adaptive fuzzy algorithm to overcome these difficulties using weights added to the rules. To verify the validity of this control strategy, we have implemented this algorithm for a DC servo motor with PD-type fuzzy controller.

An alternative human interface enabling people with severe motor disabilities to control an assistive system is presented. Since this interface relies on the biosignals originating from the contraction of muscles on the face during particular movements, even individuals with a paralyzed limb can use it with ease. For real-world application, a dedicated hardware module employing a general-purpose digital signal processor was implemented and its validity tested on an electrically powered wheelchair. Furthermore, an additional attempt to reduce error rates to a minimum for stable operation was also made based on the entropy information inherent in the signals during the classification phase. In the experiments, most of the five participating subjects could control the target system at their own will, and thus it is found that the proposed interface can be considered a potential alternative for the interaction of the severely disabled with electronic systems.
