Effect of Combination Electroacupuncture and Tenuigenin on the Migration and Differentiation of Mesenchymal Stem Cells following Ischemic Stroke

  • Objectives: Since stroke is a serious health issue, novel therapeutic strategies are required. In a mouse model of ischemic stroke, this study analyzed the potential of electroacupuncture (EA) and tenuigenin (TE) to improve the efficacy of human mesenchymal stem cell (hMSC) transplantation. Methods: Middle cerebral artery occlusion (MCAO) with reperfusion was used to generate ischemic stroke. Forty-eight male C57BL/6 mice were randomly divided into five groups: control, MCAO-operated, MCAO-EA, MCAO-TE, or MCAO + EA + TE. Subsequently, hMSCs were transplanted into the ischemic region and EA, TE, or the combination was administered. Behavior assessments and immunohistochemistry were conducted to evaluate motor and cognitive recovery and hMSCs survival, migration, and differentiation. Results: The combined treatment of EA and TE exhibited enhanced hMSCs survival, migration and differentiation into neural cell lineages while suppressing astrocyte formation. Immunohistochemistry demonstrated increased neurogenesis through hMSCs transplantation in the ischemic brain. Immediate behavioral improvements were not significantly different between groups, but there was a gradual recovery in motor and cognitive function over time. Conclusion: These findings highlight the potential of EA and TE co-treatment as a therapeutic strategy for ischemic stroke, opening avenues for further research to optimize treatment protocols and elucidate underlying mechanisms.

  • In this paper the automatic system for dairy cattle has been desisted such as body temperature measuring unit, feed supplying unit and temperature control unit. Since e disease is strongly related to the body temperature of cattle, early detection of the abnormal temperature would prevent the severe problems which nay occur in dairy farms. An electronic component AD590J is used as temperature sensor for the system, The device is highly robust against the noise since the output signal is the current so it can be applied to a long distance sensing The resolution of signal is 0.1$^{\circ}C$ and the current is 10㎷ Also 12-bit A/D converter is desisted fir interfacing the sensor with a one-chip microprocessor. A temperature measuring experiment using the developed system has been done for measuring the temperature of human beings and the system was proven to be useful for measuring the body temperature of dairy cattle properly. A geared AC motor is used for the feed supplying unit The heater and fm are used as temperature control unit. The feed supplying unit and temperature control unit are well operating in the laboratory experiment.

  • Emissions from automobiles have long been considered a prime source of pollutants involved in smog formation and ozone production. Especially VOCs are associated with serious environmental problems such as photo-chemical smog as well as human health effects. Since motor vehicles are a major source of VOCs, estimating of emission from mobile source is the most important factor to control VOCs. VOCs are emitted from various pollution like motor vehicles, mobile and stationary source that has characteristics of toxicity, cancer-causing, bio-accumulation, durability in air and diffusion can exert a bad influence upon human health and environment. However we don't have any standard or regulation about VOCs emissions. This study is summarized as VOCs emission characteristics from in-use light-duty diesel and LPG fueled vehicles. The vehicle exhaust-gas test mode is CVS cycle and nier-10 cycles that developed on EPA and National Institute of Environmental Research. TO-14 method (Toxic Organic) was chosen for VOCs analysis from EPA in USA. This study results will be useful when make a emission factor and rule making of emission standard about domestic VOCs emission for the improve to air condition.

표면 근전도를 이용한 이두박근의 운동단위 위치 추정에 관한 연구 (A Study on Estimation of Motor Unit Location of Biceps Brachii Muscle using Surface Electromyogram)

  • 본 논문에서는 표면 근전도(surface electromyogram, SEMG)를 이용하여 운동단위(motor unit, MU)의 위치(location)를 추정하는 새로운 방법을 제안하였다. 운동단위의 위치에 따라 운동단위 활동전위(motor unit action potential, MUAP), 나아가서는 표면 근전도의 크기(amplitude)가 변화하므로 운동단위의 위치 추정은 근력 추정에 있어서 중요하다. 제안된 방법은 표면근전도 시뮬레이션을 통해 취득한 기준 신호와 3 채널 표면전극을 이용하여 검출한 표면 근전도 신호를 비교하여 운동단위의 위치를 추정하는 방법이다. 운동단위 위치 추정의 정확도를 파악하기 위하여 컴퓨터 시뮬레이션을 통하여 취득한 MUAP를 본 연구에서 제안한 방법 및 기존 방법들을 적용하여 확인하였다. 시뮬레이션 결과 8[mm] 위치에 운동단위가 위치할 경우 본 논문에서 제안한 운동단위 위치 추정 방법은 0.01[mm]의 평균 추정 오차를 보였다. 반면에 Roeleveld가 제안한 추정 방법은 2.33[mm]의 평균 추정 오차를 보였으며 Akazawa가 제안한 추정 방법은 1.70[mm]의 평균 추정 오차를 보여 본 연구에서 제안한 운동단위 위치 추정 방법이 기존의 방법들에 비하여 더 정확한 위치 추정이 가능하였다.

충격 감소 및 중력 보상을 위한 이족보행로봇의 무릎-골반 관절 설계 (Design of Knee-Pelvis Joint in the Biped Robot for Shock Reduction and Gravity Compensation)

  • In the paper, a design method of knee and pelvis joint in the biped robot is proposed for shock absorption and gravity compensation. Similarly to the human's body, the knee joints of the biped robot support most body weight and get a shock from the landing motion of the foot on the floor. The torque of joint motor is also increased sharply to keep the balance of the robot. Knee and pelvis joints with the spring are designed to compensate the gravity force and reduce the contact shock of the robot. To verify the efficiency of the proposed design method, we develope a biped robot with the joint mechanism using springs. At first, we experiment with the developed robot on the static motions such as the bent-knee posture both without load and with load on the flat ground, and the balance posture on the incline plane. The current of knee joint is measured to analyze the impact force and energy consumption of the joint motors. Also, we observe the motor current of knee and pelvis joints for the walking motion of the biped robot. The current responses of joint motors show that the proposed method has an effect on shock reduction and gravity compensation, and improve the energy efficiency of walking motions for the biped robot.

  • 인간의 보다 나은 삶을 위한 유비쿼터스 사회에서 센서 네트워크기술과 함께 중요시 되고 있는 기술이 자동제어 및 모션제어기술이다. 산업현장 및 생활환경에서 GUI 환경의 보다 빠르고 정밀한 모션제어 및 위치제어기술에 대한 요구는 날로 늘어가고 있다. 특히, GUI 환경의 개선과 산업현장의 변화에 빠르게 적응할 수 있도록 PC 기반의 모션 제어시스템에 대한 수요가 날로 증가하고 있다. 본 연구에서는 높은 신뢰성과 정밀한 모션제어를 제공하는 NI PXI-7352 컨트롤러와 스텝 모터를 활용하여 사용자인터페이스를 획기적으로 증대시킨 그래픽기반 시스템 프로그래밍언어인 LabVIEW를 기반으로 산업현장에서 다양하게 응용할 수 있는 고성능 2축 스텝 모션 제어시스템을 개발하고자 한다.

패턴화된 감각 증진(PSE)이 뇌졸중 환자의 상지 기능에 미치는 즉각적 영향 (Immediate Effect of Patterned Sensory Enhancement (PSE) on Upper Limb Function after Stroke)

  • 본 연구는 패턴화된 감각 증진(Patterned Sensory Enhancement, PSE) 기법이 뇌졸중 환자의 상지 기능에 미치는 즉각적인 효과를 알아보기 위해 PSE와 단순 리듬 자극 간의 차이를 비교분석 하였다. 연구 대상은 서울시와 수원시 소재의 재활병원에서 입원 치료 중인 뇌졸중 편마비 환자 16명이며 실험군과 대조군으로 각각 8명씩 배치하였다. 본 연구의 종속변인은 뇌졸중 환자의 환측 상지 기능으로 6가지 동작의 관절가동범위(ROM, range of motion)와 장악력이며 실험군에게는 PSE를, 대조군에게는 메트로놈으로 제공되는 단순 리듬 자극을 제공하였다. 실험은 음악 자극이 없을 때와 있을 때의 같은 상지 기능을 측정하는 순서로 진행되었으며 측정한 값의 경향을 정확하게 파악하기 위해 동일한 실험을 총 2회 실시하여 평균값을 도출하였다. 연구 진행 결과, PSE를 제공받은 실험군은 음악을 들으며 동작을 수행할 때 상지 관절가동범위가 유의미하게 향상되는 즉각적인 효과를 보였으나(p < .05), 대조군은 즉각적인 효과를 보이지 않았다. 이는 단순 리듬 자극보다 PSE가 상지 운동 향상에 더 적절하게 적용될 수 있다는 것과 음악의 청각적 패턴이 운동 범위의 확장 즉, 운동 향상에 영향을 줄 수 있다는 것을 보여주었다. 본 연구는 PSE가 상지 운동 기능에 미치는 즉각적인 영향을 단순 리듬 자극과 비교분석하였다는 점에서 의의가 있으며 음악 요소의 특징이 유도하고자 하는 신체 운동의 목표와 밀접한 연관성을 가질 때 효과적으로 영향을 미칠 수 있음을 시사한다.

  • Contents 1We developed a new type of lower part of the human-sized BWR (biped walking robot) driven by a new actuator based on the ball screw which has high strength and high gear ratio. Each leg of the robot is composed of three pitch Joints and one roll joint. In all, a 8 degree-of-freedom robot was developed. A new type of actuator for the robot is proposed, which is composed of four bar link mechanism driven by the ball screw.   • This paper presents an artificial intelligent model for a soccer robot. We classified soccer robot as artificial intelligent model into three elemental groups as instinct, intuition, reason. Instinct is responsible for keeping the ball, driving or rushing toward the ball. This is very simple fundamental action without regard to associates and enemies. Intuition contributes to the fast/slow moving and simple basic turing to get near to the ball and to make a goal noticing associates and enemies. Reason is the most intelligent part. The law of reason is not simple relatively with instinct and intuition. We also compared nerve system and muscles of human being model with controller and motor of physical soccer robot model individually. We had designed several algorithms and made programs th investigate effects and control soccer robot.

Moreover, It's also very important to evaluate performance of such a Micro hand-piece, Evaluation of Mechanical property of Material and ANOVA have been known as useful methods in the field of Quality Evaluation. For Verification of Quality Evaluation, It has been evaluated by One-way layout ANOVA based on the data of Surface Roughness Test. Anyhow, This test has been respectively carried out by 3 kinds of Test and Superior performance has appeared in the Test result.
