주거재료용 왕겨보드의 생물학적 평가 (Environmental Effect Evaluation of Rice hull Board for Housing Materials)

  • As a countermeasure to reach self-sufficiency for wood supply and demand, we have to develop wood substitutes. Rice hull is the cheapest fiber material we can get in Korea, What is better the yield of rice hull amounts to 1 million tons per year. Before carrying out this study, new ecomaterial rice hull board for housing materials was developed successfully. In order to evaluate whether the rice hull board with or without bioceramic treatment is suitable for housing materials, we studied the environmental effect of the above materials in comparison with the polycarbonate, stainless, or concrete on the adaptation (body weight, water/feed consumption, general signs, urinalysis, autopsy, etc) and the reproduction(litter size, newborn adaptation, etc)of mice. In conclusion, the concrete cage was the worst in the adaptation and so was the stainless steel cage in the reproduction. The rice hull board cage with or without bioceramic treatment was superior or equivalent to other material cages from the standpoints of the adaptation and reproduction.

자기가수분해 조건에 따른 농산부산물 왕겨의 섬유화 특성 평가 (Evaluation of fiberization of rice hull by autohydrolysis conditons)

  • In the present study, effects of autohydrolysis treatment on the properties of rice hull were investigated. Two temperature condition such as $160^{\circ}C$ and $180^{\circ}C$ and thee treatment time such as 15 min, 30 min and 45 min were applied for autohydrolysis treatment. The pH of extract after autohydrolysis treatment decreased as increasing of the temperature and the treatment time. The ash content and the lignin content of rice hull were not decreased by the autohydrolysis treatment. The structure of rice hull after autohydrolysis treatment became more weak, the better efficiency of the fiberization with PFI-Mill was shown for the autohydrolysis treated rice hull with the higher temperature and the longer treatment time.

  • Structural vibration and noise are hot issues in underwater vehicles such as submarines for their survivability. Therefore, active vibration and noise control of submarine, which can be modeled as hull structure, have been conducted by the use of piezoelectric materials. Traditional piezoelectric materials are too brittle and not suitable to curved geometry such as hull structures. Therefore, advanced anisotropic piezoceramic actuator named as Macro-Fiber Composite (MFC), which can provide great flexibility, large induced strain and directional actuating force is adopted for this research. In this study, dynamic model of the smart hull structure is established and active vibration control performance of the smart hull structure is evaluated using optimally placed MFC. Actuating performance of MFC is evaluated by finite element analysis and dynamic modeling of the smart hull structure is derived by finite element method considering underwater condition. In order to suppress the vibration of hull structure, Linear-Quadratic-Gaussian (LQG) algorithm is adopted. After then active vibration control performance of the proposed smart hull structure is evaluated with computer simulation and experimental investigation in underwater. Structural vibration of the hull structure is decreased effectively by applying proper control voltages to the MFC actuators.

In this contribution an attempt has been made to review and analysis the pressure hull design such the most important subject as various geometrical shape, materials, and strength of pressure hull. Comparative study to theoritical analysis through the experimental measure¬ments are also carried out.

  • This paper presents the results of the structural analysis and the optimization of a 6,500 m manned submersible. Nonlinear structural analysis for imperfect spheres with the maximum allowable out-of-roundness(OOR) was performed to calculate the thickness of the pressure hull. Dimensions of viewports were determined according to ASME PVHO standard. The design optimization of the spherical hull with openings was divided into two steps - the optimization of the detailed shape of the viewport reinforcements and the optimization of the viewport location in the spherical pressure hull.

  • The ship hull construction materials of fishing boat has changed in order that wooden, steel, and fiber glass reinforced plastic(FRP). The fishing boat made from FRP has increased every year because that materials has proved excellent of the characteries for fishing boats construction members. Recently, FRP tend towards evasion for the pollution of air enviroment. Therefore. the materials of fishing boat construction must be exchanged by another one. Aluminium alloys must be recommended for fishing boats construction mateials because that is light weight and corrosion resisting in the sea water. Regulation of the standard of ship hull construction for aluminium alloys fishing boats did not enact laws in the interior now. Therefore, this regulation was studied by the following items. that is Rudder, Bottom construction, Side hull plate construction, Deck plate construction, piller. Water tight bulkhead, Deep tank, Fish tank, Stern construction, Superstructure, Deck house construction, Hatch, Engine room opening, Hatch opening, Bulwark, Welding and Rivet etc. A study on the regulation will be contributed to enact laws for fishing boat construction of aluminium alloys.

선박의 장비 공기소음이 수중소음에 미치는 영향 (Effect of Airborne Noise from Ship Machinery on Underwater Noise)

  • In research vessels or naval ships, airborne noise from machineries such as diesel engine is the major source of underwater noise at low speed. In this paper, effect of engine noise on underwater noise is studied by considering two paths; sound radiation from hull plate and direct airborne noise transmission through hull plate. SEA (Statistical energy analysis) is used to predict hull plate vibration induced by engine noise, where SEA model consists of only two subsystems; engine room air space and hull plate. The pressure level in water is calculated from sound radiation by plate. Engine noise transmission through hull plate is obtained by assuming plane wave propagation in air-limp plate-water system. Two effects are combined and compared to the measurement, where speaker is used as a source in engine room and sound pressure levels in engine room and water are measured. The hydrophone is located 1 m away from the hull plate. It is found below 1000 Hz, prediction overestimates underwater sound pressure level by 5 to 12 dB.

  • 2000년 이후 FRP 보트 선체 제작에 대한 국제적 법적 규제가 강화되고 있다. 본 연구에서는 보트 선체 재료로 폴리에틸렌을 제안하였다. 폴리에틸렌은 저융점 재료로서 보트가 야외에 장기간 노출되는 경우 심각한 열피로를 받을 수 있다. 고밀도 폴리에틸렌 보트 선체에 대한 열적 내구성을 실험적으로 평가하기 위하여 삼점굽힘하중조건하에서 변형률 게이지를 이용하여 열응력을 측정한 뒤 열응력 데이터를 기초로 통계학적으로 열피로 손상을 분석하였다.

Extension of Guilloton's Method for the Calculation of Wave-making Resistance and Velocities at the Vicinity of a Ship Hull(2nd Report)

  • The materials to develop a computer-based method for the wave resistance of a ship within the frame of Guilloton's wedge concept are presented in this paper. A systematic reliable procedure to retrieve the linearized hull corresponding to a given real hull form(the so-called inverse transformation) has been devised. The algorithm based on the present materials produces evidently accurate values of the H-functions, and the wave profiles and the wave resistance coefficients in good agreement with the experimental measurements.
