When constructing buildings, planning, design, construction, using & maintenance as building life cycle. Due to industrialization in 1960s and development of new town from the late 1980s to the early 1990s, Korean housing supply rate reaches almost 100%. After construction companies confronted limit of new building construction, they recognized remodeling as a part of construction, and organized remodeling team or FM team to improve sustainable industrial area. However, since companies in Korea are lack of experience and research activities for remodeling, it makes obstacle to improvement of remodeling business. So the objective of this study is to help carry out remodeling business by suggesting the counterplan through investigation of a risk of apartment remodeling business.

The storage style has changed because of diversity of family types, improvement of cost of living, and increase of leisure time. In spite of this change, storage space has still caused discomfort since it did not consider residents' convenience. Therefore, in this study, Brand Apartments were selected, furniture detail drawing was analyzed by plan of housing size and zone to calculate storage area and capacity, and finally needs of storage space were analyzed using survey. Satisfaction of storage space was generally low and $20{\sim}30%$ increase of storage space was demanded. The reasons why the storage space was not satisfied are followed. First, storage space was insufficient. Second, the inner structure of storage space was unified. According to change of life style, needs have changed. To satisfy these needs, the inner division of storage space is planned with considering various items. In addition, development of hardware, flexible division, and priority of storage space with considering user's convenience are needed.

As the data storage device market demands higher data transfer rate with higher track density. TMR budget is to be tighter so that even minor improvement is sought in HDD development fields. Disk flutter associated with the turbulent air flow inside the chamber becomes of great interest for the reduction of PES especially at OD. A comparative transient turbulent flow study is presented in this paper for the reduction of disk flutter with different housing designs.

This study aimed at proposing an policy improving directions of the rural empty homes grant scheme in Korea. The implementation procedures and results of the relevant schemes / projects on optimum use of rural empty homes at home and abroad were reviewed by literature and internet searches. From the reviewing results, an tentative set of policy directions for project improvement were proposed ; extension of project scope to all the redundant resources, dual focussing of project objectives on housing innovation and economic regeneration of communities, and systematization of project plan and implementation especially in the statutory aspects.

There are found rare specific alternatives for sustainable rural development although sustainable development has become popular common concept in international development arena. Korea is trying to reform rural development by introducing a block grants system since 2009 expecting for the efficiency of development investment. However, it seems that such new rural development system is far from realizing the sustainable development. The objectives of the study are to identify the roles and issues of the sustainable development policy and to suggest a policy model for realizing sustainable rural development. Based on the policy model hypothetically established, some policy alternatives were suggested: (i) the establishment of land use system considering sustainability perspectives; (ii) the preparation of environment management measures considering topographical traits; (iii) the improvement of landscape support scheme toward increasing biodiversity; (iv) the systematic implementation of agriculture-environment measures; (v) the implementation of sustainable development projects linking production to housing; (vi) the inclusion of sustainability indicators in rural development evaluation system.

The dwelling transformations of Xiao-He-Long town have been begun with China Economy Policy in 1904. The characteristics of change progress are as follows ; 1. As with pine tree living for a thousand years and increasing profits nearby Yian-Ji-Shi, Xiao-He-Long town as rural district has changed in appearance. 2. In accordance with improvement of rural life after China Reformation and Open Economy policy, residents have a tendency to secure a minimal house site area $400{\sim}500m^2$, and a spacious house which is able to consist barns for farming. 3. Dwelling plan type If Korean-Chinese consists of 'whetongjib, 6 module of Korean traditional unit. 'Whetongjib' has undergone with a corridor attached in porch, main entrance from south to north. 4. Construction materials as structural members bring about a change as result of influencing economic profits nearby Yian-Ji-Shi.

The purpose of this study is examine the characteristics of public open space in the office buildings located in urban commercial strip, in terms of its relationships to street, to building, and to order surrounding facilities. Theoretical basis of this research is that public outdoor spaces are to be the intermediate territory set between streets and a buildings. 5 commercial buildings in Seoul are selected as sample cases and they were closely analyzed in a comparative manner. Based on this comparison, several planning guidelines are suggested for the activation of the space, mainly in terms of the location of public open space in relation to street, the design techniques and devises reflecting the purpose of the space, and territorial arrangement and furniture layout, and the patterns of relationship to surrounding space and facilities.

Experimental approach was investigated to improve gear rattle noise of a small car. During the development of a small car serious problem occurred inside the transmission gear units. The transmission was a carried over system from a less powered predecessor. Several components of suspicion were investigated, and applied to reduce rattle noise. In general, backlash, the assembly gaps, and the clutch disk rattle induce gear rattle noise. Above mentioned improvements were applied to reduce the noise, but still problem remained. Meanwhile, the temperature inside the gearbox was reported to be unusually high and the life of transmission oil quality deteriorated drastically, Temperature increment caused the large gap between the bearing outer diameter and the transmission housing. Large gap made the gear shaft assembly move intermittently and impact each other. The tighter control of the assembly gap allowed the rotating shafts smoothly and reduced the gear rattle noise even in the high temperature range.

Survey shows that temperature accounts for 90.6% of dissatisfaction in general hospital environment. In order to improve this situation, operation and thermal data of S hospital collected in 2006 are analyzed. The objective of this study is to find optimum fiducial temperature that minimizes occupants' complaints using 6 sigma method.
