A Study on the Residence and Consciousness of Cohabitation of Three Generations Family (3세대가족의 동거실태와 동거의식에 관한 연구)

  • This study is to reveal the multi-generations' cohabitation and housing conditions are necessary for each generations to take over the homelike interchange as maintaining the excessive self-support. The subjects of this survey were 151 men and women over 60 years and older in Mokpo. The survey revealed that most or the people owned their own homes, and in many cases that the parents bought the home. There are many cases in which parents have been living with their own homes, and in many cases that the parents bought the home. There are many cases in which parents have been living with their children's families, since their children got married, and there many people who think that cohabitation is natural. In the aspect of living, the families normally eat together but there is a separation in economy and entertainment. There are many renovation and remodeling of a house to adjust the situation of three generations' cohabitation.About 70% of people experience problems with cohabitation. Analysis of Local Community Spaces Bringing Empty Homes back into Use - Focused on Empty Home Utilization Project of Nam-Gu, Incheon (빈집을 활용한 지역사회 거점공간 분석 - 인천시 남구 공가활용사업을 중심으로)

  • Purpose: This study is to identify the implications and improvement solutions to plan the local community spaces bringing empty homes back into use that fit for regional characteristics, by analyzing the Empty Home Utilization Project implemented in Nam-gu, Incheon. Methods: Among 20 homes sponsored by the Project, five homes being currently operated were analyzed in depth, and features of exterior and interior spaces, and operational characteristics of the subject homes having been renovated through the project sponsorship were examined. Results: A plan is being established to systematically manage deserted or empty homes by assigning classification to each home in Nam-gu, Incheon and they are being utilized as a community space, a place of business or a cultural art space. Most of the physical improvements only included minor repairs such as redoing interior finish, as no major renovation was implemented including layout change and wall removing. Absence of major changes including improvement of house structure resulted in problems regarding accessibility and safety. Also, there was a limit to utilize the spaces only with support on physical improvement cost for empty homes, and it was identified that positive support for renovation should be conducted in accordance with its uses for the purpose. Implications: To complete the Empty Home Utilization Project successfully, it is most critical to reflect the resident opinions and demands, and discover local operators. Furthermore, for sustainable operation of local community space, additional plans for support would be required including financial support and training local leaders, consulting support for operation, encouraging community participation, and connecting with neighbor community.

A Comparative Analysis of Designs in Low Carbon Environment-Friendly Business Buildings (국내 친환경 업무용 건축물의 디자인에 대한 비교 연구)

  • The eco-friendly elements are important for new construction and renovation and redevelopment of the buildings. The green buildings are related with minimizing environmental pollution and how to live with nature throughout the entire process of demolishing and building. The purpose of this paper is to study on eco-friendly business buildings in the trend of mandatory green building certification system. The analysis of this paper is comparative studies on practices at eleven domestic eco-friendly business buildings through site survey on design framework of green buildings. The design framework of eleven this buildings is six kinds of skills on technical, renewable, ecological, cultural, healthy, social. The eleven this buildings in the new & renewable energy and IT technology of technical sector are satisfied with the framework. But, domestic most advanced eco-friendly business buildings are placed difference between almost the two times on the lower buildings at comparative evaluation. The three of this buildings are gratified rainwater harvesting and waste recycling systems for renewable and recycle. The buildings have an excellent aspects of technology and ecology. The benefits of this buildings are related with future compulsory zero energy house to take technical advantage of renewable energy. However, the buildings reflecting the regional culture types is insufficient. The buildings should be supplemented as follows. This buildings are need to have the social enhancement programs and design for convenient space of community residents, through health and comfort of on workplace. Moreover, this buildings have features of coexisting with human beings and nature friendly with the aim of realizing the sustainable development. The social enhancement programs through regional cultural aspects with ecology are related with individual and community livings in harmony, non-hierarchical communal lifes. The development of the cultural aspects provide for consensus about the local community and creating sustainable communities. Thus, The buildings are to have energy saving, pleasant and healthy living environment and interactive individual and community livings in harmony.

  • This study aims to provide necessary, basic data for future space planning of rural housing through a survey on the size of residential space and space utilization of rural housing. To this end, this study analyzed the size and space of rural houses in actual use, and also analyzed the size and characteristics of the essential space for life, which were collected via a survey. In particular, Usan Village in Jangheung, where various types of houses and renewed houses coexist due to continued changes in the form of traditional villages, was selected for a target site of this study. In next step, this study analyzed the current status of use of each house in the village and compared the size of each space and the characteristics of space utilization. The results of the survey on Usan village, on where divergent traditional and modern houses are located, are as follows. First, Usan Village has total 31 traditional and modern houses. Most of the houses have been aging and formed into old-age households, and the expansion, renovation, and construction of farmhouses have progressed. Second, the population of Usan Village has decreased, and the number of residents per household is currently 1.4. Third, the survey indicates that the flat area of rural houses was 80.6m2, the average area of living space was 54.1m2, and the average area of water storage space was 26.5m2, and the main living area was changed to water storage space due to the decrease in the number of household members in rural areas.

  • The purposes of this research are to use the buildings efficiently and long, save energies, make the cozy and comfortable environment of residential and living spaces, rearrange the related acts for easy implementation of remodeling, and activate the government's support programs so as to make remodeling activated in a safe mode. The scope and methodology of this research include the review of existing literatures and data on remodeling, census on apartment residents, influence factors, and the development of methods for activation of building remodeling and strengthening of safety management, like activation measures, licensing and ordering regulation updates, etc regarding the remodeling. Safety inspection and in-depth inspection before and after remodeling should be regulated. The construction materials for remodeling should be light weighted and the construction methods which can minimize the impact and vibration during construction should be selected. The improvement of regulation on the remodeling contractor qualification and order method should be updated. If the remodeling is activated and safety management is reinforced by the suggested measures, solving of lack of house, prevention of abuse of resources, and improvement of residential environment could be accomplished rationally.

  • The purpose of this study is to understand the present housing condition of the suburban housing complex, and the residents' preferences to make their living condition better in Yong-in and Yang-pyeong, Pocheon, Kwang-ju and Kimpo in Kyung-Ki province, Korea. Questionnaire survey has been carried out to figure out the current status and residents' preferences of the Suburban housing complexes (hereafter SHC). The study showed the present status and the demands of people for their houses as a result like the below. First, currently the SHCs are managed by a joint control type, and the preferences of the residents' showed the similar way. Because of this status, the SHC planning is supposed to have the self-governing management and community space to support the activity of their community. Second, most SHCs doesn't have many public facility, in contrast, each house has various exteriors. This result shows the residents want more to develop their own houses' exterior than that of the SHC's public facility. Prior to plan the SHC, a program should be considered to give better understanding to residens what is the complexed life and make them choose what they really want to have. Third, the studied SHCs' renovation activities are commonly focussed on the exteriors. This shows the residents' life style is focussed more on the out-door life. The planning for the future SHC is supposed to have the points that could follow up the out-door friendly situations.

A Study on the Arrangements of YangjinDang in Sang-ju Foundation by Date on the Excavation and Jungsuki (중수기 및 발굴 자료로 본 상주 양진당의 배치에 관한 연구)

  • This study estimated the prototype of Yangjindang at the time of its foundation by putting together the literature and discovered data and historical research on family related to Sangju Yangjindang, and looked at its architectural characteristics. These are summarized as follows: First, Yangjindang is an office building which was completed in three years [1629] after its start of construction when Keomgan Jojeong was at the age of 72 [1626] in his latter days and it was used for performing ancestral rites for Jojeong's forefathers of the head family of Pungyang Jo by family origin. Yangjindang was founded as a base of utopia for putting ancestral rites & commemoration, harmoniousness of a tribe, and educational idea into practice together with Ojakdang. Such a movement can be judged to interpret and apply the circumstances of the times realistically and flexibly where they tried to pursue the promotion of Confucianism & studies of the proprieties as well as the consciousness of practice, and to bring a tribe into harmony after the war through the retirement of Toegye School. Second, it is located at a topographically ideal spot on the edge of the Jangcheon-a tributary of Nakdong with a good physiology and landscape and its location was also the lot for a house of Jojeong's ancestor, which was burned down by war. Behind such a location and planning of Yangjindang, it is presumed, though not certain that it was modelled after Naeap village at Andong- Jojeong's parents-in-low's home. Third, as for its foundation size, it's a head house as much as about more than 100-kan, and its structure is composed of Samyo, Bonche, and Yangjindang. In addition, arrangements of buildings and its composition system and renovation procedures followed Chu-tzu Garyoe. Composition of Samyo can be restored to Yangjindang, Jugo, Woesammun, and Samyo; however, there has been no case of existence in case of Jugo building composition & arrangement takes on an aspect of a compromise between Gamyojido and Sandangjido of Garoe, which seems to be the result from flexibly interpreting and applying the rituals and studies of the proprieties of Toegye School in keeping with locational topography and realistic circumstances while making it a principle for them to observe by Toegye School. There exists a difference between Bonche and its counterpart of the upper class housing at Sangju district in that Bonche[main building] is a squre-shaped 'Ttuljip' typical of Andong setting a family ancestral ritual as a main function. Fourth, there existed a lot of hardships in raising money to cover repairs in time of doing repairs to this structure after 180 years since its establishment. In case of the repair work on Bonche, the level of renovation was limited to the replacement of old materials for rafters, doorpost, roof members and railings with new materials, together with partial alterations in case of window system. It is estimated that Yangjindang was renovated in 1808, and afterwards it was renamed Okryujeong after being re-built at another site. Through the repairs, the floor was expanded for the clan's meeting, and angle rafters and roof members were mended as well. Especially, the plane and structure of Okryujeong which was re-built at another site are expected to give clues to its restoration due to the resemblance to original appearance of Yangjindang at the time of its renovation in 1808.

A Study on the Change Trend and Their Using Method of Vacant Houses in the Historic Conservation District - Focused on the Keumma Historic Conservation Area in Jeonbuk Province - (고도보존지구의 빈집 변화추이와 활용방안에 관한 연구 - 전라북도 금마고도보존지구 중심으로 -)

  • This study aims to find out the change trend of the existing vacant houses in the small and medium sized farming city. And the using method of those houses is proposed in this paper. Especially to find out the change trend ratio of vacant houses in the case, the historic conservation area - Keumma village is selected as the research target area. To carry out this study, it was surveyed in 2013 when they were not designated as the special area first. And it is reviewed in 2017 when it is designated. The contents of the survey were their use, old age, structure, materials, color, roof of the main building and wall. they were surveyed by direct and interview survey. And thew were analyzed and synthesized. It is concluded that the 142 vacant houses in 2013 were declined 46houses in 2017. It is caused by the government support. And they will be declined continuously. The architectural statues of vacant houses between in 2013 and in 2017 are almost same in it's use, old age, structure, materials, color, roof of the main building and wall. In the use ratio of the vacant houses that of residence is most high, and that of warehouses, commerce are followed in turn. The reason of that statues is moving out is the first and the death of house holder, the difficulty of managing are followed. As the their re-use plan of owners, the selling is the first, constructing new buildings and the renovation them are followed. As the method of their use, re-use, community facilities, managing in the vacant houses bank are proposed. As the vacant houses are the reason of bad elements in the rural landscape in the farm village, the method of its improvement will be carried out.

The Satisfaction with the Showrooms of the Total Interior Brands applied on Experience Design - Focused on the Showrooms Managed by Domestic Building Material Companies - (경험디자인이 적용된 토탈 인테리어 브랜드의 쇼룸 만족도 - 국내 건자재 기업들이 운영하는 쇼룸을 중심으로 -)

  • The home interior market has been expanding due to the continuing increase of single-person households, the craze for DIY interior design, the increasing demands for old-house renovation and the customer needs for good housing conditions. Now the building materials companies are scrambling for the whole interior market share. The heretofore companies have focused only on the single items, but now they are promoting the comprehensive interior products as total interior brands. Besides, they use their own showrooms to share their brand culture experience and have communication with their customers. As for the show rooms, they have got to represent the identities of the building materials brands. And to present them effectively, it needs to meet the customer needs and emotions. In this connection, the object of this study is to clarify the definitions and the characteristics of the show rooms and the experience design through the literature research, analysis the space characteristics of the experience design in the show rooms of total interior brands, investigate their customer satisfaction and present the direction and the effective methods of the space design for the show rooms of the future. And the study result shows the experience design is the key factor to the high user satisfaction. Thus, the show rooms should provide the well-balanced experience with the adoption of a variety of experience design elements. Especially, the experience design elements are needed in the room to display the merchandise. Lastly, the show rooms are expected to increase constantly, so the study targeted at the specific area, Seoul should be expanded to other areas. And this study based on the customer survey alone have a limit to giving the concrete proposals. Therefore, the follow-up studies with the different methods such as one-to-one interview will be in demand.
