  • The subject of this thesis is the vibration response of framed structure for buildings of "damed beam" type. In steel rigid frame with damped beams, web plate in mid span of beams is perforated to form a rectangular opening, only upper and lower flanges being remained. When the frame is subjected to horizontal seismic forces, dominant shearing deformation takes place in the opening part of the beams. Energy absorber in stalled in the opening is driven by relative displacement caused by the shearing deformation and provide the frame with damping force. First, static deformation of portal frames having a beam with the web opening is discussed and formulas of elastic deformation is derived.s derived.

  • According to the high accuracy of semiconductor equipments, PCB substrate with much thin thickness is required. However, it is very difficult to sustain the PCB substrate without deformation in case of horizontal installation, due to low bending stiffness. In this research, new PCB process equipment with vertical installation has been developed in order to solve the problem of PCB substrate damage during etching process. As the main parts of etching system on PCB substrate, PCB substrate and JIG are analyzed through finite element method and experimental test. Through the analysis results of stress state, we could find the optimal JIG design to make the damage as low as possible.

  • The purpose of this investigation is to establish which consequence is happen about initial curing concrete's compressive strength of 7days, 28days which changes W/C ratio by the change of vibrating speed and vibrated time. An experimental parameter is fixed 4 degrees of W/C ratio(45%, 50%, 55%, 60%), 3 degrees of vibrated time(3hr, 6hr, 12hr) and different vibrating speed(0.25kine, 0.5kine, 1kine). As the result, compressive strength of 7days was increased when vibrating speed and vibrated time is 1kine, 12h and also compressive strength of 28days was increased when vibrating speed and vibrated time is 0.25kine and 3hr.

구속 받는 3차원 유연 매니퓰레이터 선단의 마찰에 관한 연구 (A Study on End-effector Friction of Constrained Spatial Flexible Manipulator)

  • The force control of a constrained flexible manipulators has been one of the major research topics. However, a little effort has been devoted for the relation between friction force and elastic deflection of end-effector for a constrained flexible manipulator. So, the aim of this paper is to clarify the friction mechanism of a constrained spatial multi-link flexible manipulator by changing the material and connected method of end-effector. In this study, a concise hybrid position/force control scheme is applied to the control of a flexible manipulator, and the experimental results for the constrained vertical motion and constrained horizontal motion is presented. Finally a comparison between these results are presented to show the reduction of vibration of link and friction force.

  • An air spring which is a part of the railroad vehicle suspension system is used to reduce and absorb the vibration and the noise. Main components of the air spying are a cord reinforced rubber bellows, a upper plate, a lower plate and a stopper rubber spring. The characteristics of the air spring which are the load capacity, the vertical and the horizontal stiffness are depended on the configuration of rubber bellows, the angle of cord and the mechanical properties of cord. The computer simulation using commercial finite element analysis codes are executed to predict and evaluate the load capacity and the stiffness. The appropriate shape and cord angle of the air suing are selected to adjust the required performance of the air spring. Several samples of the air spring are manufectured and experimented. It is shown that the results by computer simulation are in close agreement with the test results.

  • This paper proposes an intelligent PID/Fuzzy control system for two humanoid robots to transport objects stably. When a robot transports an object while walking, a whole body system of a robot may not be stable due to vibration or external factors from a different departure speed error and a body movement of walking robots. Therefore, it is necessary to measure the horizontal and vertical locations and speeds of object, then calibrate the difference of departure speed between robots with PID/Fuzzy control. The results of simulation with two robots indicated that a proposed controller makes robots to transport an object stably.

  • This paper presents a performance analysis of the 1st generation bump foil journal bearings for the micro gas turbine TG75. Static performances such as load capacity and attitude angle are estimated by using soft elasto-hydrodynamic analysis technique, and dynamic performances such as stiffness and damping coefficients are estimated by perturbation method. Rotordynamic analysis for TG75 is performed by using the bearing analysis results. TG75 rotor has 2 horizontal and vertical directional natural modes due to the bearing stiffness characteristics. TG75 rotor will be stably operated between the 1st bending mode at 33000cpm and the 2nd bending mode at 85500cpm. Unbalance response analysis results satisfy the API vibration criteria.

  • In general, a yawing motion concept is used for the lateral control of one wheel robot where the gimbal system is located horizontally. In this paper, another concept of the vertically located gimbal system is presented for the same purpose. Although the vertical concept undergoes an instability more easily than the horizontal one, the pitching motion of the gyroscopic effect is considered. Firstly, the trade-off relation between two balancing concepts are investigated by comparing the gyroscopic mechanism. Secondly, the dynamic model for the problem of the proposed concept is derived using the oscillatory inverted stick model. Thirdly, the stability of the model is analyzed using the phase trajectory method. Finally, the control performance of the system by a vibration controller is simulated.

A robust identification of single crack location and size only based on pulsations of the cracked system

  • The purpose of the present work is to establish a method for predicting the location and depth of a crack in a circular cross section beam by only considering the frequencies of the cracked beam. An accurate knowledge of the material properties is not required. The crack location and size is identified by finding the point of intersection of pulsation ratio contour lines of lower vertical and horizontal modes. This process is presented and numerically validated in the case of a simply supported beam with various crack locations and sizes. If the beam has structural symmetry, the identification of crack location is performed by adding an off-center placed mass to the simply supported beam. In order to avoid worse diagnostic, it was demonstrated that a robust identification of crack size and location is possible if two tests are undertaken by adding the mass at the left and then right end of the simply supported beam. Finally, the pulsation ratio contour lines method is generalized in order to be extended to the case of rectangular cross section beams or more complex structures.

Fluidelastic instability of a curved tube array in single phase cross flow

  • Experimental study on the fluidelastic instability (FEI) of a curved tube bundle in single phase downward cross flow is investigated for the design qualification and analysis input preparation of helical coiled steam generator tubing. A 6×9 normal square curved tube array with equal and different vertical/horizontal pitch-to-diameter ratio was under-tested up to 6 m/s in term of gap flow velocity to measure the critical velocity for FEI. The critical velocity for FEI was measured at the turning point from the vibration amplitude plot along the gap flow velocity. Our test results were compared with straight tube results and published data in the design guideline. The applicability of the current design guidelines to a curved tube bundle is also assessed. We found that introducing frequency difference in a curved tube array increases the critical velocity for fluidelastic instability.
