In this paper while a router is routing all packet to the next hop, it inspects whether there is congestion on this current hop router or not and if the router discovers that it has some congestion, it informs that the packet is experienced to congestion. The packet arrived to next hop including some information about the congestion is processed first and it has wider bandwidth than another packet The amount of congestion is recorded to the DS field of IP header by congestion experience level. In the next hop when the packet including the congestion information is routed, the standard packet dropping ratio of the current router is changed in proportion to congestion experience that is recorded in IP header on of that. When the packet that has experienced congestion before is arrived, the router extends the drop threshold value not to drop the packet. It mean that transferring the audio or video stream, if the packet is already experienced the congestion in another hop, the router can provide the better service quality about 15∼25% than another.

Clustering is one of the key technologies in vehicular networks. Constructing and maintaining stable clusters is a challenging task in high mobility environments. DWCM (Distributed and Weighted Clustering based on Mobility Metrics) is proposed in this paper based on the d-hop dominating set of the network. Each vehicle is assigned a priority that describes the cluster relationship. The cluster structure is determined according to the d-hop dominating set, where the vehicles in the d-hop dominating set act as the cluster head nodes. In addition, cluster maintenance handles the cluster structure changes caused by node mobility. The rationality of the proposed algorithm is proven. Simulation results in the NS-2 and VanetMobiSim integrated environment demonstrate the performance advantages.
This paper presents an information theoretic outage analysis for physical layer of a cooperative multihop wireless network. Our analysis shows that cooperation by selecting a proper relay at each hop increases the coverage or data rate of the network. In our analysis we consider both symmetric and asymmetric network model. We also investigate the availability of cooperative relay at each hop and show that end-to-end performance of the network depends on the relay selection procedure at each hop. We also verify our analytical results with simulations.
This paper proposes a medium-access control(MAC) protocol designed for wireless multi-hop sensor networks which is used for connecting physical world and cyber computing space. Wireless multi-hop sensor networks use battery-operated computing and sensing device. We expect sensor networks to be deployed in an ad hoc fashion, with nodes remaining inactive for long time, but becoming suddenly active when specific event is detected. These characteristics of multi-hop sensor networks and applications motivate a MAC that is different from traditional wireless MACs about power conservation scheme, such as IEEE 802.11. Proposed MAC uses a few techniques to reduce energy consumption. Result show that proposed MAC obtains more energy sayings.
The skin whitening effects of pine needle extract, hop extract and chestnut inner shell extract were evaluated both in vitro and in B 16 mouse melanoma cell lines. Each extracts significantly inhibited tyrosinase activity, dopa auto-oxidation and melanin biosynthesis in vitro and in B 16 cell lines. In vitro, hop extract inhibited melanin biosynthesis 15 times stronger than kojic acid at $10{\;}\mu\textrm{g}/ml$ concentration. Each extracts were stronger inhibitors of melanin biosynthesis than kojic acid in B 16 mouse melanoma cell at less than $4{\;}\mu\textrm{g}/ml$ concentration. These results show that extracts fo pine needle, hop and chestnut inner shell could be developed as skin whitening component of cosmetics.

In this paper, we propose a novel protocol called a Multi-hop Diversity Transmission protocol in which the retransmission is realized by a relay that is Nearest to a current Source (MDTNS). We derive the mathematical expressions of the packet error rate (PER) and the average number of transmissions over Nakagami-m fading channels, and verify them by Monte Carlo simulations. The simulation results show that the MDTNS protocol improves the performance of the network in terms of PER when compared to the Multi-hop Diversity Transmission protocol in which the retransmission is done by a relay that is Nearest to Destination (MDTND) and to the conventional multi-hop transmission (CMT) protocol.
In this paper, we propose the enhanced CSMA/CA MAC protocol fir mobile multi-hop wireless Ad-hoc networks. In the conventional wireless Ad-hoc network such as WLAN using CSMA/CA MAC protocol, communications between terminals that fn connected within multi-hop node may degrade the transmission efficiencies as increasing the multi-hop nodes because of RTS-CTS-DATA-ACK message exchange between terminals. In this raper, we apply the ACK/RTS control message into multi-hop transmission between terminals for wireless ad-hoc networks and improve the data traffic transmission efficiencies compared with conventional CSMA/CA MAC protocol used in WLAN.

The IEEE 802.11 is a MAC protocol which has been standardized by IEEE for Wireless Local Area Networks (WLANs). In the IEEE 802.11 WLANs, network nodes experiencing collisions on the shared channel need to backoff for a random period of time, which is uniformly selected from the Contention Window (CW). This contention window is dynamically controlled by the Binary Exponential Backoff (BEB) algorithm. However, the BEB scheme suffers from a fairness problem; some nodes can achieve significantly larger throughput than others. This paper proposes a new backoff algorithm for the IEEE 802.11 DCF scheme. This algorithm uses the hop count for considering fairness. It causes flows with high hop count to generate short backoff interval than those with low hop count, thus getting high priority. Therefore, when a collision occurs, the modified IEEE 802.11 DCF assigns higher priority to flow to be close to a destination.
Multicast data communication is an efficient communication scheme, especially inmulti-hop ad hoc networks where the media access control (MAC) layer is based on one-hop broadcast from one source to multiple receivers. Compared to unicast, multicast over a wireless channel should be able to deal with varying channel conditions of multiple users and user mobility to provide good quality to all users. IEEE 802.11 does not support reliable multicast owing to its inability to exchange request-to-send/clear-to-send and acknowledgement packets with multiple recipients. Thus, several MAC layer protocols have been proposed to provide reliable multicast. However, additional overhead is introduced, as a result, which degrades the system performance. In this paper, we propose an efficient wireless multicast MAC protocol with small control overhead required for reliable multicast in multi-hop wireless ad hoc networks. We present analytical formulations of the system throughput and delay associated with the overhead.
For disaster exploration and surveillance application, this paper aims to present a novel application of a multi-robot agent based on WSN and to evaluate a multi-hop communication caused by the robotics correspondingly, which are used in the uncertain and unknown subterranean tunnel. A Primary-Scout Multi-Robot System (PS-MRS) was proposed. A chain topology in a subterranean environment was implemented using a trimmed ZigBee2006 protocol stack to build the multi-hop communication network. The ZigBee IC-CC2530 modular circuit was adapted by mounting it on the PS-MRS. A physical experiment based on the strategy of PS-MRS was used in this paper to evaluate the efficiency of multi-hop communication and to realize the delivery of data packets in an unknown and uncertain underground laboratory environment.
