This paper investigates the problem of random analysis of fixed structures which are influenced by waves and current. Morison eqution was employed to deal with the wave and current load. The wave kinematics are randomly generated from the wave spectrum. The necessary statistics are calculated from the resulting response time history. The simulation results are turned out to be very sensitive to the simulation technique.

Biometrics systems are used in a wide range of areas, including the area of crime prevention, due to their unique characteristics. However, serious problems can occur if biometric information is disclosed to an unauthorized user. To address these issues, this paper proposes a real valued fuzzy vault method, which adopts a real number error correction code to implement a fuzzy vault scheme for protecting fingerprint temples. The proposed method provides the benefit of allowing the private key value to be changed at any time, unlike biometric template such as a fingerprint, which is not easily renewable even if its security has been breached. The validity of the proposed method is verified for fingerprint verification.

Quartz glass are used in semiconductor industries as the reaction furnace, wafer carrier and accessaries. During the process the quartz glass received compression by direct contact with other quartz glass ware and metal as the form of weight itself and vacuum pressure and fatigue by vibrations caused by process. Even as the other ceramic materials quartz glass have high compressive strength but often there happened crack and breakage of quartz glass resulted in a great damage in the process. In this paper investigation will be carried out on fracture behavior of quartz glass under local load to give guideline to prevent unintended fracture of quartz glass.

The metabolites of marine mollusk Mytilus edulis were isolated and characterized, revealing the presence of the rare free fatty acids and proteinogenic amino acids together with a non-proteinogenic free amino acid, taurine. The free fatty acids in this organism were particularly interesting for the presence of both unusual n-6 acid [20:4 (n-6)] and triple bond containing acid (2,5-octadecadiynoic acid). In addition to the proteinogenic amino acids commonly found in proteins, non-proteinogenic free amino acid taurine was isolated and the structure was determined by its physicochemical properties. Recently taurine has been given much interest in the molecular level because of diverse biological activities and the medicinal properties. Furthermore, the result of the analyses of analyses of free amino acids showed that glycine, glutamic acid, serine and alanine, which were considered to be related to the taste of this organism, are predominantly present.

Recently, a study on LB ultra thin film of molecular size is widely performed. To make use of LB ultra thin film in engineering applications, it is important to investigate how uniformly Langmuir film is deposited on a substrate. In this paper, to confirm the uniformity of film deposition, the relation between the monolayer numbers deposited and its ratio is investigated by deposition of the Y type and Hetero type LB film. If films are deposited ideally, the deposition ratio will become 1.0. From the experimental results, it can be suggested that the deposition of LB film is done well, as we obtained an approximate value 1.0 by the calculation of deposition ratio of L film area and LB film deposition area.
