Objectives: The aim of this study is to review clinical studies of Hominis Placenta Pharmacopuncutre on Obstetrics & Gynecology diseases. Methods: Key words "Jahageo Yakchim", "Hominis Placenta Pharmacopuncture", "Human Placenta Pharmacopuncture", "Hominis Placenta Pharmacoacupuncutre" were searched on 6 database systems (DBpia, KISS, KTKP, NDSL, Pubmed, CENTRAL) on August 31th 2018. Results: 1 case reports and 4 controlled studies were collected in accordance with the selection and exclusion criteria. The study design, study results and method of intervention were analyzed. Conclusions: This review shows the necessity of large-scale well designed clinical studies of Hominis Placenta Pharmacopuncture on Obstetrics & Gynecology diseases to evaluate the efficacy and safety.

Objective : This study was carried out to investigate the progress of bilateral simultaneous facial palsy and the effect of Hominis Placenta herbal-acupunture and the other oriental medical therapies. Method : We used two methods to research the progress of disease. 1. Diagnosis - Facial muscle test, Taste test, Hearing test, Photographies, Lab-finding 2. Treatment - Acupuncture, Herbal-acupuncture, Electroacupuncture, Herb-med Edema rate, Pain endurance, WBC, Hemoglobin, Platelet, Total protein, Albumin, Globulin, RA factor, CRP Results : The onset of Rt. facial palsy was earlier than Lt. facial palsy 3days. The reaction on the treatment of Rt. facial palsy was more dull than Lt. facial palsy. In terms of treatment period, Rt. facial palsy was very longer than Lt. facial palsy. Conclusion : According to the above results, we discoveried that Hominis Placenta herbal-acupunture and the other oriental medical therapies had good influence on the bilateral simultaneous facial palsy. In the future, we should endeavor to know influence between Rt. and Lt. face in case of bilateral simultaneous Bell's palsy.

Objectives : This study was designed to find out correlation of filtration rate of herbal-acupunctures and pain score of herbal acupuncture stimulation. Methods : Filtration rate of Hwangryunhaedoktang herbal acupuncture, Kidney yang deficiency number two herbal acupuncture, Hominis Placenta herbal acupuncture, Cervus Elaphus herbal acupuncture, BUM herbal acupuncture and Carthami Flos herbal acupuncture were measured at the korean institute of herbal acupuncture. And Hwangryunhaedoktang herbal acupuncture, Kidney yang deficiency number two herbal acupuncture, Hominis Placenta herbal acupuncture, Cervus Elaphus herbal acupuncture, BUM herbal acupuncture and Carthami Flos herbal acupuncture were injected at Xie points of the subjects. Results : Ranking of herbal acupunctures filtration rates is the same as ranking of pain score and duration time of herbal acupuncture. Correlation analysis result of herbal acupunctures filtration rates and herbal acupuncture VAS with a simple linear regression analysis is that correlation coefficient of Hwangryunhaedoktang herbal acupuncture, Kidney Yang Deficiency Number Two herbal acupuncture, Hominis Placenta herbal acupuncture, Cervus elaphus herbal acupuncture, BUM herbal acupuncture. Carthami Flos herbal acupuncture is 0.44, 0.53, 0.58, 0.76, 0.47 and 0.54. Correlation analysis result of herbal acupuncture's filtration rates and herbal acupuncture stimulation's duration time is that correlation coefficient of Hwangryunhaedoktang herbal acupuncture, Kidney Yang Deficiency Number Two herbal acupuncture, Hominis Placenta herbal acupuncture, Cervus Elaphus herbal acupuncture, BUM herbal acupuncture, Carthami Flos herbal acupuncture is -0.09, 0.11, -0.07, 0.28, -0.11 and -0.09. Conclusion : We found the correlation of filtration rate of herbal-acupunctures and pain score of herbal-acupuncture stimulation. This study help to control pain amount and pain duration time of herbal acupuncture treatment. And this study improve acupuncture theory of herbal acupuncture.

Purpose : The purpose of this study is to report the effect of oriental treatments to postpartum depression Methods : We treated the patient who had postpartum depression and visited Joong-hwa oriental hospital. The patient in this case, 36-years-old female, was admitted for 15days(161th/May/2005-30th/May/2005) due to postpartum depression which was measured by EPDS(Edinburgh Postnatal Depression Scale) and BDI(Beck's depression Inventory). The symptoms of patient are insomnia, anxiety, palpitation, chest discomfort and depression. This patient was treated with Hominis Placenta Herbal acupuncture at CV4(Kwanwon, Guanyuan), CV6(Kihae, Qihai), B23(Shinsu, shenshu), GVl5(Amun, Yamen), herb medication, acupuncture, auricular acupuncture, moxa treatment, and so forth. Results : As a result, symptoms are remarkably alleviated. Conclusions : Hominis Placenta Herbal acupuncture is expected to have an effect on postpartum depression. After this, further approach and study on postpartum depression might be needed.

Objectives : This study is to evaluate Effect of Inhibition Macrophage Migration Inhibitory Factor(MIF) activation by Hominis Placenta Herbal Acupuncture(HPA) on Rheumatic Arthritis(RA). Hominis Placenta is the placenta of healthy human, which is vital-strengthening medical stuff. In recent years, Hominis Placenta applied to chronic diseases because it makes us more resistance to diseases. Therefore it is supposed that HPA is effective on RA, a kind of autoimmune disease. When RA is induced, MIF is activated, too. MIF affects the process of inflammatory disease including RA. Methods : In order to investigate the effect of Hominis Placenta extraction on MIF(early RA inducing cytokine) and MMP(Matrix Metallo Proteinase)-9 mRNA expression by means of Reverse Transcriptase- Polymerase Chain Reaction(RT-PCR). In this study, we investigated the effect of Hominis Placenta extraction on MIF(early RA inducing cytokine) and MMP-9 mRNA expression by means of RT-PCR. Besides we investigated changing of MIF in synovial membrane and, Interleukin-6 receptor(IL-6R)-$\alpha$(pro-inflammatory cytokine), Signal transducers and activators of transcription(STAT)-3, MMP-9 after treating mouse, which is artificially attacked with RA, with HPA on its $ST_{35}$, LE201 in vivo. Results : 1. As a result of treating Lipopolysaccharide(LPS)-stimulated Raw246.7cell with HPA, MIF(RA related cytokine) and MMP-9 mRNA expression is reduced in vitro. And this reaction is concentration-dependatant. 2. In synovial membrane of the mice treated with HPA, inhibition of MIF, IL-6R-$\alpha$, STAT3 & MMP-9 activation is observed in vivo. Conclusions : From the above results, it might be suggested that HPA mitigate tissue damage originated from RA, because it intercepts the early process of by inhibition MIF activity.

Objectives : The purpose of this study is to report the clinical effects of Hominis Placenta Pharmacopunture(HPP) on Vertigo. Methods : A 82-year-old female patient whose chief complaint was Vertigo was treated with Placenta Pharmacopunture at CV6 and GB21, twelves times for a month. Acupuncture and herbal medicine were added depending on the symptoms. Laboratory test was taken and Korean Version of Dizziness Handicap Inventory was examined before and after each treatment. Results : After the treatments, the symptoms were improved. Conclusions : Hominis Placenta Pharmacopuncture may be an efficacious therapy for Iron Deficiency Anemia.

Objectives : The treatment of Bell's palsy must be divided into three states(acute, subacute and healing state). 41 cases of the patient suffering from Bell's palsy were treated and observed from january 2000 to July 2001. The usage of herbal acupunctures on that disease have been effective. So I propose a method of herbal acupunctures on Bell's palsy. Methods : By the states(acute, subacute and healing state) of Bell's palsy, SY(消炎) herbal acupuncture is used at the acute state, Hominis Placenta(紫河車) at the subacute, JGH(中氣下陷) at the healing state. Results : 1. At the acute state, SY(消炎) herbal acupuncture is effective to postauricular pain. 2. At the subacute state, Hominis Placenta(紫河車) herbal acupuncture is effective to decreasing pain and improving symptoms. 3. By the states(acute, subacute and healing state) of Bell's palsy, SY(消炎), Hominis Placenta(紫河車) and JGH(中氣下陷) herbal acupuncture is effective to improving symptoms of Bell's palsy.

Objectives : This study has been designed and performed to identify the effect on Bell's palsy according to the injection of herbal medicine induced from the Hominis Placenta. Methods : We measured the facial palsy changes of the patients who were admitted for Bell's palsy in the Oriental Medical hospital of Dongeui medical center from 03-01-2004 to 07-31-2004. Bell's palsy patients were divided into two groups. One group(A group) was injected with Hominis Placenta herbal acupuncture. The other group(B group) was injected with normal saline. Then effects of these treatment was evaluated by Yanagihara's unweighted grading system. Results : A group was marked more higher than B group in treatment outcome. we discovered that it is significant differences between two groups after 4 week. Conclusions : These results provided that A group is more effective than B group. For clearly proving the effect of Hominis Placenta herbal acupuncture on Bell's palsy, it is need more sample's number and more treatment's duration.

This experiment was designed to investigate the effect of Mominis Placenta herbal acupuncture solution(HP-HAS) on immune cells and cytokines in murine asthma model. In vivo C57BL/6 mice were sensitized and challenged with OVA for 12 weeks. The experimental group was treated with Hominis Placenta herbal acupuncture solution(HP-HAS) at P'yesu(BL13) for the later 8 weeks(3 times a week) and analyzed by ELISA, flow cytometer. The results were obtained as follows Eosinophils in BALF(bronchoalveolar lavage fluid) of HP-HAS group decreased significantly compared with that of control group. IL-4, IL-5, IL-13, IgE in BALF of HP-HAS group decreased significantly compared with that of control group. Number of $CD3e^-/CCR3^+$, $CD69^+/CD3e^+$, $CD11b^+/Gr-1^+$ cells in the HP-HAS group decreased compared with that of control group.

This report was done to observe the effect of Hominis placenta herbal acupuncture on Bell's palsy. The study group comprised 16 patients who arrived at Woo-suk university oriental hospital from January, 1999 till January, 2000 for Bell's palsy. All patients were divided into two group. One was herbal acupunture group, and the other was control group. Acupunture group was done herbal acupuncture therapy on the facial acupuncture points. Followings are achievement and a term of each group. In herbal acupuncture group, 100% motor recovery was 7 case, 75% was 1 case, and 25% motor recovery term was $7.38{\pm}5.21$ days, 50% was $11.00{\pm}6.16$ days, 75% was $15.13{\pm}9.55$ days, 100% was $23.14{\pm}7.97$ days. In control group, 100% motor recovery was 4 case, 75% was 2 case, 25% below was 2 case and 25% motor recovery term was $11.17{\pm}4.96$days, 50% was $18.17{\pm}6.82$ days, 75% was $29.50{\pm}6.95$ days, 100% was $44.00{\pm}11.49$ days. The above results indicate that Hominis placenta herbal acupuncture is a useful effect on Bell's palsy. thus, continuous herbal acupunture study will be needed for more clinical application on Bell' palsy.
