In this paper, we checked health problems of outpatients who suffered from cancer, apoplexy, and arthritis. After accessing each patients condition, in order to alleviate their sufferings, we introduced several methods of aroma therapy as a holistic approach to these health problems. Aromatherapy, which can be defined as a nature-friendly complementary / alternative method, has its great merit in its easy way of treatment by the family member of patient or patient himself. Recently, it was scientifically proved that aroma therapy has various curative effects. The easiness of applying aroma therapy is full of suggestions concerned with the future of nursing science. Recently, in the domain of home care nursing, there happened a fundamental change in its structure: a change from the supplier/professional-centered to the consumer/patient-centered one. With this change, home care nursing as a cherished desire of nursing science obtained its legal ground in the established medical programs and, in the same context, patients came to have the chance to receive demanded medical services in their home without going through complicated hospital admission procedures. Considering the future status of home care nursing as a major contributor in the consumer-centered structure of medical health service, aroma therapy as a complementary/alternative method is expected to contribute not only to establishing more effective structure of health service supply but also to resolving chronic health problem of outpatients.

Human Ecology researches studying human life patterns in Korea are on the same tracts of recent global promotion in Korea as that of other academic studies. In this changing academic atmosphere, Human Ecology-based researches are in demands of suitable research topics and methods. This study was done to investigate the present research situations of Human Ecology-based subdivisional fields, including food and nutrition, clothing and textiles, child studies, family studies, home management, housing studies, consumer sciences and home economics education, by an increasing need in the society of KHEA (Korean Home Economics Association). The study focused on understanding the trends of research topics and methods shown in the papers published in major academic periodicals in Korea as well as world-class (SCI, SSCI) journals in order to predict the future for Ecology-based studies in Korea. The data were collected from all periodicals from January, 2000 to August, 2003, listed in the Korean Research Foundation and from world-class journals comparable to the former. Twenty-six periodicals were chosen for analysis, including papers with authors of ecology-based, field faculty at colleges or universities. There were some differences between the Korean and world-class research topics and methods. In order to narrow the gap between the two, we suggested that serious consideration be given to the research's application-ability toward human beings, which would be the home-ecology study's identity. The same criteria in these fields as used in other natural science fields are not suitable for supporting and evaluating research proposals and outputs, and recent global academic promotions may not be desirable in some respects. However, they do present an opportunity to expose Korean researcher's to world-class scientific societies and upgrade their studies. These efforts should stimulate the field of Human-Ecology studies and enhance the recognitions of these fields among future students.

The purpose of this study is to find some directions for students' future and Home Economics Education. Juniors and Seniors majoring in Home Economics were selected from 4 Universities in Chungbuk Province and the questionnare survey was used. The results of this study are as follows : 1. Most of respondents were defined the H.E. as the academic subject, and 50.2% of them regarded H.E. as a necessary subject regardless of whether it is their major or not. 2. Though the most general motives of choosing H.E. as their major were recommendation of their parents/neighbors or their school record, they are satisfied with their major. 3. The strongest reason majoring in H.E. was that it is helpful to living, and some students didn't show any interest because H.E. was not considered as a realistic study. 4. Many respondents answered that male students have to learn H.E., and thought that H.E. Education is much influential to one's living. 5. 59.6% of respondents replied that cultural studies related to H.E. are opened at the universities, and 90.6% of them thought subjects related to H.E. should be opened as cultural studies. 6. After graduation, 48.3% of respondents will choose their jobs related to their major, and they prefer to be a teacher, a dietition and a fashion designer in its order. 7. 44.3% of respondents thought that H.E. is neglected and 50.7% of them answered that the research by industrial-educational cooperation is necessary. 8. Many students majoring in H.E. took an optimistic view about H.E.'s future as a study.

In Korea, the elderly support has been accomplished by the families in the extended family system with the influence of the transmigration and the confucianism thought. But in Korea the drastic changes of society such as, the growth of the elderly pollution, the urbanization, the decrease of the birth rate, the increase of the working women, the growth of the nuclear families, etc., make the family difficult to take care of the elderly. Therefore, some people insist on the construction of the elderly home as the way to solve the elderly problems and some of corporations including profit-organizations are ready to participate the construction of the elderly home. They force the change of the current social security law because it is impossible to carry out the plans uncer the law. At this point, the conditions of the elderly home in Japan which is geographically close to Korea and has facillicated the elderly home business were examined at the consumer perspectives. The purpose of this study were to consider the possible problems in the elderly home and to prevent from happening another elderly problems in the future.

Recently, the service for nursing home has been transforming in an overall way, and along with that, the supply of the recuperation facilities for the elderly has been expanding. However, the quantitative expansion of those facilities has not been accompanied by the qualitative supply. In consideration of those shortcomings of the existing facilities, it may be necessary to ensure an improvement in qualitative terms. This study investigated and analyzed the Nursing home, examined the current situation, reconsidered the state of recuperation facilities for the elderly as part of effort to prepare for the silver society, and present measures for improvement in an attempt not to repeat mistakes that have been observed in the existing facilities in planning Nursing home that will be open and built in the upcoming days, which aimed to provide basic data that can be used in the future and explore the direction of relevant design.

This study was conducted to explore the factors that influence the development of happiness during childhood using longitudinal data obtained from the Korea Youth Panel Survey(KYPS). Specifically, the causal relationships between factors impacting the individual children, the home environment factor, and the happiness of children were examined over a 3-years-period. The subjects evaluated in this study included 2,844 children (1,524 boys and 1,320 girls) and 2,844 parents who were administered the KYPS. The data were analyzed using the SAS program. The results revealed that happiness that develops during childhood remains stable and constant, which indicates that prior happiness has a strong effect on future happiness. The individual factors affecting the children, which include schoolwork achievement and extra private education, were found to have a great influence on the development of happiness at all ages. The use of longitudinal data in this study is a new method in the field of Human Development.

This study conducted a content analysis of the treatises published in JKHEA(Journal of the Korean Home Economics Association). In total, 2,136 articles published in JKHEA from 1995 to the first half of 2009 were reviewed. Articles were classified by subject matters, research methods, number of researchers, presence of research fund, language and number of reference. Although it is useful to employ content analysis in reviewing academic articles on human ecology in all journal publications, the sheer size of literature available makes this task nearly impossible. As such, we have chosen JKHEA as a popular representative journal on human ecology. This study presented the empirical results of research trends and other characteristics in JKHEA. As such, the results of this study presented a snapshot analysis of research on human ecology and future trends.

본 고찰은 가상현실 기반 가정환경 수정 프로그램들을 살펴봄으로써 향후 국내 가상현실 기반 가정환경 수정 프로그램 개발과 적용에 대한 기초자료를 제공하고자 한다. 문헌고찰을 위해 Medline, Embase, Scopus 등의 데이터 베이스와 수기검색을 이용하여 2011년 1월부터 2021년 6월 현재까지 가상현실을 이용한 가정환경 수정을 다루는 있는 학술연구, 컨퍼런스 및 심포지엄 속의 연구 등을 수집하였다. 선정기준을 통해 총 7편의 연구를 선정하였으며, 선정된 연구들은 가정환경 수정을 위한 가상현실 프로그램 프로토타입 개발 및 프로그램의 수용성 및 사용성 등에 대한 양적, 질적 연구들로 나타났다. 가상현실을 이용한 가정환경 수정 프로그램은 가정환경 수정에 관여하는 이해당사자들을 위해 다양한 목적으로 개발, 적용되고 있으며, 가정환경 수정 전문가 양성 및 이해당사자들을 위한 시뮬레이션 교육 프로그램과 원격 가정환경 평가, 수정 프로세스에 있어 클라이언트의 참여와 가정환경 수정에 관여하는 여러 이해당사자들과의 소통과 협업을 촉진시키는 도구로 사용될 수 있다. 향후 국내 주택의 특성을 반영한 가상현실 기반 가정환경 수정 프로그램 개발 및 실행가능성에 대한 연구가 이루어져야할 것이며 가정환경 수정 현장에서 프로세스를 지원하는 도구로서의 활용을 기대한다.

유비쿼터스 환경이 가장 먼저 실현될 것으로 예상되는 유비쿼터스 홈에 대한 연구가 지금까지 이루어져 왔다. 하지만, 유비퀴터스 홈의 복잡성으로 인하여 신뢰성의 오류 처리가 어렵다는 것이 현실이다. 본 논문에서는 이런 오류들의 검출 및 복구방법에 대하여 유비쿼터스 홈 오류 연구를 위한 시뮬레이터를 개발하여 다양한 실험을 통해 오류의 규칙과 진단 지식의 정확성에 대하여 알아보았고 그 결과를 토대로 향후 연구 과제에 대하여 논하였다.

The purpose of this study is to analyze time-use studies of korea and to discuss them. For the analysis of Korean studies, the articles which were published on the Journal of Korean Home Economics Association, the Journal of Korean Home Management Association, and other journals and theses for a degree from 1962 to 1987 were investigated by theme and research method. Time-use studies in home management began with the experiment for work simplification and the survey of time use by housewives. In recent years all family members are subject to sample, varied themes are studies, and more defined research methods are used. For the future study, it was suggested that genernal theories should be developed and appropriate research method should be applied.
