  • Home network technologies which interconnect various wire and wireless home appliances, access network technologies and service offer technologies are continuing growth. To provide secure services in the home, home network environment, access network environment, and various service and contents offer technologies are consist organically. Thesis of administration method of systematic and effective groove network is most urgent and important urea to offer safety and authoritativeness of home networking service in home network that strong certification and security function are required among these technologies. In this paper, we propose home gateway security management architecture and the way to use SNMPv3. Also, we propose structure and function of home network management system to support various home networking security scenarios.

  • Since home network system is usually set up based on the built-in system inside home at the time of construction, it has a difficulty in being compatible with new devices after construction. In this paper, we propose DBS(Dynamic Binding System) that can make links effectively among the devices located in inside and outside of home networks. Implementation of the DBS is based on the ZigBee's binding in WPAN(Wireless Personal Area Network). For this research, we constructed the system consisting of home server that contains proxy server and location server, devices inside home in which tinyOS is embedded, and mobile device that is an emulator. The communication inside home is done by IEEE 802.15.4 protocol and the communication between servers and mobile devices outside home is done by TCP/IP protocol. Regardless of device's address format, the DBS facilitates a link among the devices located inside and outside of home networks. And, introducing a new device into home network can be recognized easily by exchanging messages between devices.

  • Home service networked system gets more its fault chances, which are fault by the external factors, network fault, home appliance fault, and so on. Moreover, user may want to pay no attention to a sequence of complex or nervous maintenance jobs for system fault management. Therefore, home management system needs the function of home service recovery for fault home device. For this, this paper manages to design home network control log, and proposes the method for securing the home device service continuity analyzing home device service log in the point of fault.

  • Recently the idea of a home automation has been an important issue in many publications and home appliances companies. Home automation is a house or living environment that contains the technology to allow devices and systems to be controlled automatically. Remote and local control are useful to keep home comfortable and to support the elderly and the disabled people. In this paper, we discuss possible developments of Bluetooth wireless technologies and describe the hardware for devices and software for the considerations of a home automation system. Finally, we have validated the testbed by simulating in the Bluetooth home network.

  • Smart Home or Home Network technology is one that continuously creates added value, making a better life. This paper designed and developed a smart home control system using smart phone. This proposed smart home system consists of home server control system, remote smart application system and home node structure. Home node structure, in detail, is composed of intrusion detection, gas leakage or gas valve control, door lock, automatic curtain, ventilation control and On/Off control modules and these modules are controlled at home server. Home server makes it easy to control home automatic control system anytime, anywhere as it provides remote interface that enables control via smartphone and user interface in itself.

  • A home network provides users with a variety of information services. The kind and quality of the services can be substantially enhanced by utilizing a variety of data from sensors. However, home networks currently limit their potential by focusing on providing multimedia services rather than services utilizing sensor data. Outdoor electronics are frequently made in a form that emphasizes only certain limited functions in contrast to home appliances. Thus, sensors with one or two functions rather than many can be used in outdoor systems and their use will be more economical than using sensor nodes indoors with more complex home appliances. In this study, we chose to work with motion sensors as they have many potential uses, and we selected a parking lot control system with to use the motion sensors. This parking lot control system was implemented and applied as part of a home network. For this purpose, we defined and implemented a protocol to manage the network in a ubiquitous sensor network environment for the wireless home network in this study. Although a network management system in a Ubiquitous Sensor Network (USN) related to this study is being advanced for other projects, the protocol interface and message system have not yet been clearly defined for use in a general purpose network or in an extension into heterogeneous kinds of networks, communication support, etc. Therefore, USN network management should be conducted for management of faults, composition, power, and applications. To verify the performance of the protocol interface designed in this study, we designed and implemented the necessary units (sensor nodes, sensor gateway, and server) for each network section and, with them, proved the validity of this study.

  • An intelligent home network system using low-power and low-cost sensor nodes was designed and implemented. In Intelligent Home Network System, active home appliances control is composed of RSSI (Received Signal Strength Indicator) based user indoor location tracking, dynamic multi-hop routing, and learning integration remote-control. Through the remote-control learning, home appliances can be controlled in wireless network environment. User location information for intelligent service is calculated using RSSI based Triangle measurement method, and then the received location information is passed to Smoothing Algorithm to reduce error rate. In order to service Intelligent Home Network, moreover, the sensor node is designed to be held by user. The gathered user data is transmitted through dynamic multi-hop routing to server, and real-time user location & environment information are displayed on monitoring program.

  • The control of electrical appliances residing in the home network can be accomplished via Internet with the UPnP expansion without modifying an existing UPnP. In this paper, we propose the Internet Gateway that consists of an UPnP IGD(Internet Gateway Device) DCP(Device Control Protocol) and an UPnP Bridge as a system to control electrical appliances of home network. UPnP IGD DCP is to enable the configurable initiation and sharing of Internet connections as well as assuring advanced connection-management features and management of host configuration service. It also supports transparent Internet access by non-UPnP-certified devices. UPnP Bridge searches for local home network devices by sending control messages, while control point of UPnP Bridge looks up devices of interest on the Internet, subsequently furnishing the inter-networking controlling among devices which belong to different home network systems. With our approach, devices on one home network can control home electrical appliances on the other home network via Internet through IGD DCP with control commands of UPnP.
