  • This paper attempted to verify that Investigative Enterprising(IE) axis in the Holland hexagonal model can measure the internal and external job value. This study analyzed internal and external job values of 19 subjects who participated in the 150 Job cards classification test. The results of this study are as follows: First, the study group with Holland hexagonal model centered on the Investigative Enterprising type(IE) axis and artistic type(A) and social type(S) showed internal job value and supported the hypothesis. Second, the hypothesis that the group with the hexagonal model centered on the Investigative Enterprising(IE) axis and the bias toward the realistic type(R) and the conventional type(C) would pursue external job value was rejected. This is due to the Korean cultural context that pursues psycho-cultural value in Confucian culture. There is also a Holland hexagonal model that is not exactly distributed to the left of the Investigative Enterprising(IE) axis. Third, the group of amphibolic job value based on the Investigative Enterprising(IE) axis, and the Holland hexagonal model is expressed in artisic type(A), social type(S), realistic type(R), and conventional type(C) supported some hypotheses. This paper is the first to suggest that the Investigative Enterprising(IE) axis of the Holland hexagonal model can be used to measure job value, and the Holland hexagonal model can predict job value as well as career choice. This paper is intended to expand the foundation of the Holland theories, and to provide meaningful contribution to the basis for vocational studies.

  • The purpose of this study is to develop the academic and career counseling program for students of engineering college who don't have aptitude in engineering. Therefore we began with analyzing the outcome of Holland career aptitude test from enrolled students of engineering college. The method of this study is first, we classified between students who have aptitude on engineering and who don't. Next, we compared grades of between them. Lastly, we studied the needs of the students who don't have aptitude in engineering. The final result and analysis of study were used for suggestion of develop academic and career counseling program for students of engineering college who don't have aptitude on engineering.

  • The purpose of this study was to analyze the relationships among science gifted students' MBTI personality tendencies, Holland's professional personality types, and academic achievement, with the aim of developing individualized guidance strategies based on these results. To achieve this, we first examined the relationship between MBTI personality tendencies and Holland's professional personality types, the relationship between MBTI personality tendencies and the academic achievement of science gifted students, and the academic achievements based on the psychological functional type and psychological temperament type of science gifted students. The findings are as follows: Firstly, an analysis of the differences in Holland personality types between the introverted (I) and extroverted (E) student groups revealed significant differences in the enterprising type. Specifically, extroverted students scored higher than introverted students in the enterprising type. Secondly, a comparison of Holland personality type scores between judging (J) and perceiving (P) student groups showed that the judging (J) group scored higher in the realistic type than the perceiving (P) group. Differences in academic achievement were observed in terms of energy direction, information processing, and approach to life among the four MBTI personality tendencies. Finally, differences were found in psychological temperament type, but not in psychological functional type. The sensing perceivers (SP) type showed the highest score, while the sensing judger (SJ) type showed the lowest score in basic academic ability, and this difference was statistically significant

  • This study is to examine that there are differences in Holland personality types and talent of elementary school students depending on cerebral hemisphere and their relationship. The study is targeted 679 elementary school students. To examined the hypothesis, frequency analysis, t-test, correlation analysis, using SPSS 18.0 were conducted. First, The elementary school students, artistic and enterprising types appeared more evident in the right-brain than left-brain. Second, there are positively conspicuous differences between RIC group and SAE group in left-brain. Third, in comparison with cerebral hemisphere and talent of elementary school students, creative, nature, communicative and body appeared more evident in the right-brain. Fourth, there are positive relationships in Holland personality types, cerebral hemisphere, and talent. However, there is no relationship between left-brain and artistic type, right-brain and social type.

  • Vocational rehabilitation is defined as a process which helps people with disabilities to maintain life of non-disabled people and vocational assessment is a part of it. Traditionally, vocational assessment is performed through using of assessment tools, vocational counseling and so on. It is very efficient to apply vocational assessment to people with disabilities using the internet, but we should provide them with web accessibility. In this paper, we design and implement the aptitude test system for people with visual impairment supporting web accessibility. We develop the aptitude test system using the Holland Test which is the assessment tool of career guidance and counseling. We also show that the aptitude test system for people with visual impairment supports web accessibility more than previous Holland Test which is served in the internet.

  • Data mining techniques enable us to generate useful information for decision support from the data sources which are generated and accumulated in the process of routine organizational management activities. College administration system is a typical example that produces a warehouse of student records as each and every student enters a college and undertakes the curricular and extracurricular activities. So far, these data have been utilized to a very limited student service purposes, such as issuance of transcripts, graduation evaluation, GPA calculation, etc. In this paper, we utilized Holland career search test results, TOEIC score, course work list and GPA score as the input for data mining, and we were able to generate knowledge and rules with regard to the college road map advisory service. Factor analysis and AHP(Analytic Hierarchy Process) were the primary techniques deployed in the data mining process. Since these data mining techniques are very powerful in processing and discovering useful knowledge and information from large scale student databases, we can expect a highly sophisticated student advisory knowledge and services which may not be obtained from the human student advice experts.

  • Five equating methos for elective subjects of College Scholastic Ability Test were analyzed under a common-items nonequivalent groups design using a real data set of 110 thousand examinees. Five methods were (a)two-stage linear equating (b) two-stage equi-percentile equating (c) Tucker equating (d) Frequency estimation equating and (e)Braun-Holland equating. The results indicated that Frequency estimation equating fits well and two-stage linear equating produces most different equating results from the Frequency estimation equating.

  • We study the periodic homogenization of the non-stationary Stokes equations. The fundamental homogenization theorem and corrector theorem are proved under a very general assumption on the viscosity coefficients and data. The proofs are based on a weak formulation suitable for an application of classical Tartar's method of oscillating test functions. Such a weak formulation is derived by adapting an argument in Teman's book [Navier-Stokes Equations: Theory and Numerical Analysis, North-Holland, Amsterdam, 1984].
