  • The most costly and time-consuming process in the fabrication of today's multi-layer circuit board is drilling interconnection holes between adjacent layers and via holes within a layer. Decreasing size of via holes being demanded and growing number of via holes per panel increase drilling costs. Component density and electronic functionality of today's multi-layer circuit boards can be improved with the introduction of cost-effective, variable depth laser drilled blind micro via holes, and interconnection holes. Laser technology is being quickly adopted into the circuit board industry but can be accelerated with the introduction of a true production laser drilling system. In order to get optimized condition for drilling to FPCB (Flexible Printed Circuit Board), we use various drill pattern as drill step. For productivity, we investigate drill path optimization method. And for the precise drilling the thermal drift of scanner and temperature change of scan system are tested.

  • In the case of high-speed data transmission on high multilayer boards, signal coherence is a problem, especially due to the via hole, and a solution to improve return loss or insertion loss by applying a back drill to the via hole is being proposed. In this paper, Near-Field Electromagnetic measurements were made on a high multilayer board to determine how the presence or absence of back drill affects signal consistency. For this purpose, we used a signal generator, spectrum analyzer, and EMC scanner on a test board to determine if it is possible to distinguish between areas with and without back drill in the via holes of the stubs on the board. Also, we analyzed the measured value of S11, S21 and EMC etc. for how much it improves the signal attenuation of the stub with back drill. Through this, we knew that less electromagnetic waves are generated the stub via with back drill. At future research, we will analyze how much it improves the signal loss and electromagnetic waves due to the depth of back drill.

  • The purpose of this study was to characterize the putative anxiolytic-like effects of the aqueous extract of the root of Polygala tenuifolia ( AEPT) using an elevated plus maze (EPM) and hole-board apparatus in mice. The AFPT was orally administered at 50, 100, 200 or 400 mg/kg to ICR mice, 1 h before the behavioral evaluation in the EPM respectively. Control mice were treated with an equal volume of saline, and positive control mice with buspirone (2 mg/kg). Single treatments of the AEPT significantly increased the percentage of time spent and arm entries into the open arms of the EPM vedrsus saline controls (P<0.05). Moreover, there were no changes in the locomotor activity and myorelaxant effects in any group compared with the saline controls. In the hole-board test, single treatments of the AEPT (200 and 400 mg/kg) significantly increased the number of headdips versus saline controls (P<0.05). In addition, the anxiolytic-like effects of the AEPT were blocked by WAY 100635(0.3mg/kg, I.p), a5-$HT_{1A}$ receptor antagonist not by flumazenil, a $GABA_{A}$ antagonist. These results indicate that P. tenuifolia is an effective anxiolytic agent, andsuggest that the anxiolytic-like effects of P. tenuifolia is mediated via the serotonergic nervous system.

  • Woohwangcheongsimwon (WHCSW) is a traditional oriental medicinal fomula which has been clinically used for treating strokes, palpitation, loss of consciousness and anxiety. The purpose of this study was to characterize the putative anxiolytic properties of WHCSW using an elevated plus-maze (EPM) and hole-board test. Control mice were orally treated with an equal volume of vehicle (10% Tween 80 solution), and positive control mice were treated with diazepam (1 mg/kg, i.p.). In the EPM test, WHCSW significantly increased the percentage of time-spent in the open arms (200 mg/kg, P < 0.05) and the percentage of open arm entries (200 and 400 mg/kg, P < 0.05). WHCSW also significantly increased the number of head-dips in the hole-board test (200 mg/kg, P < 0.05). In addition, the anxiolytic properties of WHCSW examined in the EPM test were inhibited by flumazenil (10 mg/kg, i.p.), a GABA$_A$ antagonist. However, no changes in spontaneous locomotor activity or myorelaxant effects were observed versus 10% Tween 80 controls. These results suggested that WHCSW is an effective anxiolytic agent, and that its anxiolytic effects are mediated via GABA$_A$ receptors.

  • The effect of the relative location between pre-swirl nozzle and receiver hole on the performance of radial on-board injection type pre-swirl system was analyzed. In this study, tendency of the change of discharge coefficient and temperature drop efficiency were analyzed for 20 design points through the combination of 5 pre-swirl nozzle location and 4 receiver hole location. Discharge coefficient of system tended to be similar to the pressure ratio of the pre-swirl nozzle. System performance variation occurred as the flow structure in the cavity was affected by the surface, and the influence of the stationary surface is greater than that of the rotating surface. Discharge coefficient of system changed -1.39% to 1.25% and temperature drop efficiency changed -5.41% to 2.94% refer to reference design point.

  • The Copper-Clad Laminate (CCL) is a main electronic component of specialtype printed circuit boards (PCBs) such as Silver Through Hole PCB. This CCL should have high reliability under the aging test, and usually the test is done at a higher temperature (110-$150^{\circ}C$) than the normal. Then, this test condition of high temperature may cause such quality problems as hole eccentricity and reduction of distance between part holes. After measuring the CCL shrinkage affected by temperature, the correction factor of a press mold was a, pp.ied to solve these problems. The results showed that the tolerance of hole pitch(${\pm}$$100{\mu}m$) was satisfactory and the internal and external failure costs were reduced by 55%.

  • Generally, the build-up printed circuit board manufactured by a sequential process involving etching, plating, drilling, etc, which requires many types of equipments and long lead time. Etching process is suitable for mass production, however, it is not adequate for manufacturing a prototype in the development stage. In this study, we introduce a screen printing technology for prototyping a build-up printed circuit board. As for the material, photo/thermal curable resin and conductive paste are used for the formation of dielectric and conductor. The build-up structure is made by subsequent processes such as formation of a liquid resin thin layer, solidification by a UV/IR light, and via hole filling with a conductive paste. By use of photo curable resin, productivity is greatly enhanced compared with thermal curable resin. Finally, the basic concept and the possibility of build-up printed circuit board prototyping are proposed in comparison with the conventional process.

  • Works were focused on back pressure characteristics of ceramic fiber filter on DPF (Diesel Particulate Filter) system and experiments were performed to select appropriate filter which can filter particulates. Filters were installed on metal -support tube which has openings for exhaust gas flow. Ceramic fiber filters with high specific surface area and adequate high temperature strength are commercially available for filtration of diesel particulates and in -situ hot regeneration. Thus, ceramic blanket and ceramic board which are used as insulating media were applied to filter and filtration apparatus was installed on exhaust gas line connected to 2.0 L diesel engine. Alternating filter structure to adapt DPF system, collection efficiency test of diesel particulates was measured. In case of ceramic blanket, pressure drop was low, caused by the destruction of soft structures. Also, particulate collection efficiency was decreased depending on loading time. In case of ceramic board, structure design was altered to reduce back pressure on DPF system. Structure design was altered to induce Z-flow by making 10 mm and 5 mm holes on the surface of media. Alteration of 5 mm hole showed that media have low back pressure but particulate collection efficiency was 77%, while 10 mm hole showed that of 90%.

  • This experiment was performed to investigate the anxiolytic-like effects of cyclopeptide fraction alkaloids of Zizyphi Spinosi Semen (CFAZ), by using the experimental paradigms of anxiety, and compared with those of a known anxiolytic, diazepam. CFAZ (8.0 mg/kg, p.o.) increased the percentage of time spent on the open arms and the number of open arms entries in the elevated plus-maze test, increased the number of head dips in the hole-board test, and increased the percentage of center zone ambulatory time in the open-field box. However, CFAZ has no effect on the locomotor activity, while diazepam (2.0 mg/kg, p.o.) significantly reduced locomotor activity. CFAZ did not influence the grip force in the grip strength meter test, either. From the molecular experiments, CFAZ increased chloride influx in cultured cerebellar granule cells. In addition, $GABA_A$ receptors $\gamma$-subunit were over-expressed by CFAZ in cultured cerebellar granule cells. It is concluded that CFAZ may have anxiolytic-like effects, and these effects may be mediated by $GABA_A$ receptors.
