인쇄회로기판의 미세 신호 연결 홀 형성을 위한 레이저 드릴링 시스템 (Laser Drilling System for Fabrication of Micro via Hole of PCB)

  • The most costly and time-consuming process in the fabrication of today's multi-layer circuit board is drilling interconnection holes between adjacent layers and via holes within a layer. Decreasing size of via holes being demanded and growing number of via holes per panel increase drilling costs. Component density and electronic functionality of today's multi-layer circuit boards can be improved with the introduction of cost-effective, variable depth laser drilled blind micro via holes, and interconnection holes. Laser technology is being quickly adopted into the circuit board industry but can be accelerated with the introduction of a true production laser drilling system. In order to get optimized condition for drilling to FPCB (Flexible Printed Circuit Board), we use various drill pattern as drill step. For productivity, we investigate drill path optimization method. And for the precise drilling the thermal drift of scanner and temperature change of scan system are tested.

공작기계 상에서 마이크로드릴 공정의 머신비전 검사시스템 (Machine Vision Inspection System of Micro-Drilling Processes On the Machine Tool)

  • In order to inspect burr geometry and hole quality in micro-drilling processes, a cost-effective method using an image processing and shape from focus (SFF) methods on the machine tool is proposed. A CCD camera with a zoom lens and a novel illumination unit is used in this paper. Since the on-machine vision unit is incorporated with the CNC function of the machine tool, direct measurement and condition monitoring of micro-drilling processes are conducted between drilling processes on the machine tool. Stainless steel and hardened tool steel are used as specimens, as well as twist drills made of carbide are used in experiments. Validity of the developed system is confirmed through experiments.

집중하중 가정에 의한 관통구멍뚫기법의 잔류응력 측정연구 (A Study of Determination of Residaul Stress of Through-Hole-Drilling Method on Assumption of Concentrated Force)

  • To determine the residual stress, concentrated forces instead of distributed stresses, are assumed to be released around the hole drilled through. Concentrated forces are consisted with pairs of concentrated farces which have opposite directions and small distances. Residual stress determination on assumption of concentrated forces is compared numerically with normal method based on Kirsch's solution and proved to be available when released strains are measured at a little distance.

  • Multi-layer printed circuit board(PCB) is being used widely for the product with relatively complex circuits such as TV, VTR and FAX. With the rapid enlargement of electronic and IT industry, the hole machining technology on multi-layer PCB is increasingly required to improve. Thus, the micro drilling with ultrasonic vibration can be a good method for hole machining. Unlike conventional drilling, ultrasonic vibration applied drilling introduces less wear and fracture of not only tool but also internal surface of workpiece due to little cutting resistance, thus, machinability can be improved. The experiment is conducted through the comparison between the results of conventional drilling and ultrasonic micro drilling as well as among each results by the variation according to not only feed rate of drill but also amplitude and frequency of ultrasonic vibration. The multi-layer PCB consists of 6 layers and ${\Phi}$0.3 diameter drill was used. As a result, it was found that the state of internal surfaces of holes on multiple layer PCBs is improved by the application of ultrasonic vibration.

방전 드릴링에서 전극 소모량 예측 및 보정 (A Study of Electrode Wear Estimation and Compensation for EDM Drill)

  • Electric discharging machining (EDM) is commonly adopted to machine the precise and tiny part when it is difficult to meet the productivity and the tolerance by the conventional cutting method. The die-sinking EDM method works well to machine the micro-parts and the perpendicular wall of die and mould, whereas EDM drilling, called super drill, is excellent to machine the deep and narrow hole regardless the material hardness and the hole location. However, the electrode wear is rapid compared to the conventional cutting tool and makes it difficult to control the electrode feeding and to machine precisely. This paper presents an efficient method to estimate the electrode wear using hole pass-through experiment while the stochastic method is used to compensate for the estimation model. To validate the proposed method, the commercial EDM drill machine is used. The experiment result shows that the electrode wear amount can be predicted very precisely.

  • 화약의 동적 충격에너지를 이용하는 발파굴착은 매우 효율적인 터널굴착방법이다. 그러나 진동과 암소음 등의 발파공해가 발생하는 문제점이 있다. 최근 연구를 통해 노치공을 이용한 선균열 암굴착방법은 발파공해와 터널의 여굴을 상당히 줄일 수 있는 것으로 확인되었고 이에 따라 본 연구에서는 노치발파공의 성형을 위한 노치장비개발에 관한 연구를 수행하였다. 노치공을 효율적으로 성형하기 위해 노치비트의 길이, 높이 등을 다양하게 변화시켜 실험을 수행하여 최적화하였고, 천공속도, 천공정밀도를 높이기 위한 천공비트, 노치비트, 아답타, 노치 가이드로 이루어진 노치비트 시스템을 개발하였다.

강건설계법을 이용한 스웨덴식 벤치발파의 설계 인자 분석 (Parameter Analysis of Swedish Bench Blast Design using Robust Design Method)

  • 스웨덴 식 벤치발파 설계방식에 대하여 실험계획법을 이용하여 설계인자를 분석하였다. 분석에 사용된 직교배열은 $L_9(3^4)$이었고 변수는 각각 3수준의 값을 갖는 천공직경, 화약의 종류, 공의 경사와 암석의 종류로 하였다. 분석결과 저항선 결정 영향요소는 천공직경, 화약의 종류, 암석의 종류 그리고 공의 경사 순이었으며 비장약량 영향요소는 암석의 종류, 화약의 종류 그리고 비천공장에 영향을 미치는 요소는 천공직경과 화약의 종류순이었다. 또 강건설계를 이용한 경제성 검토에서 최적인자 선택이 가능함을 확인하였다.

  • This study is performed to compare characteristics of various measurement technique for weld residual stress. AISI 304 plate with one path weld on the surface was manufactured for this study. Hole drilling method, X-ray diffraction method and instrumented indentation method were used to measure the residual stress before and after welding. All the results were compared and analyzed.

방전드릴링 시 발생하는 초경합금의 표면전해부식 방지 (ED-drilling of WC-Co to Minimize Electrolytic Corrosion on a Workpiece Surface)

  • In this study, a simple and effective method was proposed to minimize electrolytic corrosion on the workpiece during ED-drilling using water as a working fluid. The adhesion of a cover plate onto the surface of the workpiece was greatly effective for suppressing electrolytic corrosion during ED-drilling. The experiment revealed that the adhesion of the cover plate prevented corrosion without causing significant changes in machining characteristics. Using the machining method proposed in this paper, electrolytic-corrosion-free holes can be machined without change in the machinery system. By using corrosion-free hole as a start hole for wire EDM, a lead frame die with high quality was fabricated successfully.

  • This paper presents an evaluation of new drill and blast method with two different drilling directions for pilot tunnel enlargement using numerical experiment and field test. To evaluate the effieiency of new tunnel enlargement method, field tests were performed and compared with conventional drill and blast method. Also, three dimensional transient dynamic analysis was made to investigate the effect of the ground vibration when blasting was performed at same position using the equivalent single hole charge.
