The rationalization for Tunnel Drifting is based on the high productivity which is achievable due to Continuous work with a Jumbo Drill, resulting in a much higher efficiency them the Conventional method of blasting, mucking and supporting services. Large projects of over 4,000m Tunnel Drifting are condidated to justify the use of a Jumbo Drill with a combination of superior explosives, machinery and techniques. During a Tunnel Drifting test, Gulita, Nabit and slurry made by Nitro Nobel were employed with following results. 1, Conditions: a. Granite Rock with Two free face b. Burden (W), 2m c. Diameter of hole, 42mm d. Depth of hole 3.5m e. Hole pitch 0.6m f. Charged Explosive per hole Gelatin Dynamite 4 pieces (112.5${\times}$4ea)+Guuita 5 pieces(110g${\times}$5ea) g. Simal-taneous Detonation h. After the blasting resultant rock size was Less 40% of the 0.3m Lumps. 2. Calculation results W=q/Wn=100cm‥‥‥Burden in simultaneous blasting 0.865kg(7.7ea)/hole ‥‥‥Amount of charge but hole pitch is 1.5W-2W The estimated cost of using a Jumbo Drill for the Construction of a 3,000,000 bbL sub-surface oil storage would be as follows: This calculation is based on the Jumbo Drill advancing 3.6m per blasting cycle. Unit cost/bbL Excavation $3.13 The attached sheet shows ideal Drilling pattern with Burn Cut & Smooth blasting method. In conclusion, it is my opinion that this method will assure safety and save cost and improve our technical know-how.
We investigate transmission of light in nanoscale structures. We present spatial and temporal domain measurements of the dephasing of surface plasmon excitations in metal films with periodic nano-hole arrays. By probing coherent spatial SP propagation lengths of a few f1. $\mu$m and an ultrafast decay of the SP polarization on a 10 fs timescale, we demonstrate that the SP transmission peaks are homogeneously broadened by the SP radiative lifetime. The pronounced wavelength and hole size dependence of the dephasing rate shows that the microscopic origin of the conversion of SP into light is a Rayleigh-like scattering by the periodic hole array. We have experimentally studied the dephasing of surface plasmon excitations in metallic nano-hole arrays. By relating nanoscopic SP propagation, ultrafast light transmission and optical spectra, we demonstrate that the transmission spectra of these plasmonic bandgap structures are homogeneously broadened. The spectral line shape and dephasing time are dominated by Rayleigh scattering of SP into light and can varied over a wide range by controlling the resonance energy and/or hole radius. This opens the way towards designing SP nano-optic devices and spatially and spectrally tailoring light -matter interactions on nanometer length scales.

This paper describes experimental work to control supersonic jet noise using a mesh screen that is placed at the nozzle exit plane. The mesh screen is a wire-gauze screen that is made of long stainless wires with a very small diameter. The nozzle pressure ratio is varied to obtain the supersonic jets which are operated in a wide range of over-expanded to moderately under-expanded jets. In order to perturb mainly the initial jet shear layer, the hole is perforated in the central part of the mesh screen. The hole size is varied to investigate the noise control effectiveness of the mesh screen. A schlieren optical system is used to visualize the flow fields of supersonic jet with and without the mesh screen device. Acoustic measurement is performed to obtain the OASPL and noise spectra. The results obtained show that the present mesh screen device leads to a substantial suppression of jet screech tones. The hole size is an important factor in reducing the supersonic jet noise. For over-expanded jets, the noise control effectiveness of the mesh screen appears more significant, compared to correctly and under-expanded jets

A characteristic of discharge for a foam spray nozzle with various parameters was investigated. The discharge patterns from a fire foam spray nozzle are important to evenly spray over a maximum possible floor area. Two parameters of a foam spray nozzle were chosen, and compared with those from the standard one. Also, in order to evaluate the performance of discharged foam agents used to protect structures from heat and fire damages, the thermal characteristics of fire-protection foams were experimentally investigated. A simple repeatable test for fire-protection foams subjected to fire radiation was developed. This test involves foam generation equipment, a fire source for heat generation, and data acquisition techniques. Results show that the bubble size of foam is increased by large inside diameter of orifice or closed air hole, but phenomenon of discharge angle and expansion ratio is opposite. For the case of the open air hole, liquid film of a circular cone discharges with formation, growth, split and fine grain. In case of the closed air hole, a pillar of foam solution discharges with that. Though the temperature gradient in the foam increases with increased foam expansion ratio. it is not change with increased intensity of heat flux.

The BTA drilling chip is better for deep hole drilling than other self-piloting with pad drilling chips because the large length to diameter ratio allows a unique cutting force dispersion and better supplies the high pressure fluid. Therefore the BTA is useful for many tasks, such as coolant hole drilling of large scale dies, as well as tube seat drilling, which is essential for the heat exchanger, and variable component drilling for automobiles. Deep hole drilling has several significant problems, such as hole deviation, hole over-size, circularity, straightness, and surface roughness. The reasons for these problems, which often result in quality short comings, are an alignment of the BTA drilling system and the unbalance of cutting force by work piece and tool shape. This paper analyzes the properties through an experiment which com¬pared single-edge BTA drills with multiple-edge BTA drills, as well as the shapes of the tools to cause an unbalance of cutting force, and its effect on the precision of the worked hole. Conclusions are as follows. 1) In SMSSC drilling, 60m/min of BTA with single and multi-edged tools proved the best cutting condition and the lowest wear character. 2) The roundness got a little worse as cutting speed was increased, but surface roughness was hot affected. 3) It was proved that the burnishing torque of both drills approached 26%. which is almost the same as the 24% insisted on by Griffiths, and the dispersion characteristic of the multi-edged BTA drill proved better than the single-edge BTA drill.

So far,in deep drilling process there are several manufacturing problems such as hole deviation, hole over size, circularity, straightness and surface roughness. Whit regard to these problems, we atudied the abrasion process on carbided tip of BTA drill and got the follow test results through the abrasion characteristic test and analysis on cutting mechanism for the drill tooth and guide pad. 1) In SM55C drilling process, the most stable and reasonable drilling speed range for optmum abrasion characteristic of drill tooth was 60m.min. 2) The total drilling torque was about 60kg .deg.cm on condition drilling speed 60m/min and 0.15mm/rev. These results show that the theoretical burnising torque is well accord with the tested torque which is working on guide pad.

A study of carbide step drill cutting ability is highly progessing the step drill with more then twice diameter rate is so difficult in regrinding and very easy to damage during machining. As the machining of step drill for closed hole is occur to breakage at small diamter poistion, so it is very difficult to machinine. Thue, in this experiment, We investance roundness and surface roghness by machining distance and were identifid that the first distance, 5~10m, was fine with 7 .mu.m but the arround of 15m was happened so much alternation. And we were indentified that after 20m was happend statable machining. The surface roughness was happened the same conditions. So application of stwp drill we think that the selection of cutting conditions need lots consideration and the study of step drill's diameter ratio ratio is carred out.

Thin glass (< 100 microns) is a promising material from which advanced interposers for high density electrical interconnects for 2.5D chip packaging can be produced. But thin glass is extremely brittle, so mechanical micromachining to create through glass vias (TGVs) is particularly challenging. In this article we show how laser processing using deep UV excimer lasers at a wavelength of 193 nm provides a viable solution capable of drilling dense patterns of TGVs with high hole counts. Based on mask illumination, this method supports parallel drilling of up over 1,000 through vias in 30 to $100{\mu}m$ thin glass sheets. (We also briefly discuss that ultrafast lasers are an excellent alternative for laser drilling of TGVs at lower pattern densities.) We present data showing that this process can deliver the requisite hole quality and can readily achieve future-proof TGV diameters as small $10{\mu}m$ together with a corresponding reduction in pitch size.

Clustering wireless sensor network is an efficient way to reduce the energy consumption of individual nodes in a cluster. In clustering, multihop routing techniques increase the load of the Cluster head near the sink. This unbalanced load on the Cluster head increases its energy consumption, thereby Cluster heads die faster and create an energy hole problem. In this paper, we propose an Energy Balancing Cluster Head (EBCH) in wireless sensor network. At First, we balance the intra cluster load among the cluster heads, which results in nonuniform distribution of nodes over an unequal cluster size. The load received by the Cluster head in the cluster distributes their traffic towards direct and multihop transmission based on the load distribution ratio. Also, we balance the energy consumption among the cluster heads to design an optimum load distribution ratio. Simulation result shows that this approach guarantees to increase the network lifetime, thereby balancing cluster head energy.
A simple molecular theory of mixtures is formulated based on the nonrandom two-fluid lattice-hole theory of fluids. The model is applicable to mixtures over a density range from zero to liquid density. Pure fluids can be completely characterized with only two molecular parameters and an additional binary interaction energy is required for a binary mixture. The thermodynamic properties of ternary and higher order mixtures are completely defined in terms of the pure fluid parameters and the binary interaction energies. The Quantitative prediction of vapor-liquid, and solid-vapor equilibria of various mixtures are demonstrated. The model is useful, in particular, for mixtures whose molecules differ greatly in size. For real mixtures, satisfactory agreements are resulted from experiment. Also, the equation of state (EOS) is characterized well, even the liquid-liquid equilibria behaviors of organic mixtures and polymer solutions with a temperature-dependent binary interaction energy parameter.
