Report on the Vaso-Aging Degree of Workers by SA3000P (SA3000P로 측정된 근로자들의 혈관노화도에 관한 보고)

  • This study was designed to analyze the results of Vaso-Aging Degree in Oriental medical examination. The subjects were workers in the automobile manufacturing industry. The subjects consisted of 24,077 industrial workers who had received Oriental medical examination by Oriental medicine and they submitted questionnaires about drinking history and smoking history, during 9 months from March to November. They were categorized by job class, drinking history and smoking history, exercising history. The percentage of Vaso-Aging Degree were measured by using SA3000P(Medicore, Seoul, Korea). We analyzed the relationship between job class, drinking history, smoking history, exercising history and Vaso-Aging Degree using ${\chi}2$-test of the SPSS Ver. 14.0. In job class, Sales personnel were apt to have a higher level of Vaso-Aging Degree than Office workers. And getting older workers are, the higher Vaso-Aging Degree becomes. Vaso-Aging Degree of the Drinker group showed a higher level than the Non-Drinker group. Vaso-Aging Degree of Smoker group were higher than the Non-smoker group. On the other hand, Vafo-Aging Degree of Non-Exerciser group were higher than the Exerciser group. They have to manage Vaso-Aging Degree closely and educate the workers to quit smoking and drinking for their health promotion. Furthermore, continuous health check up needs to be done connectedly.

Case studies and effects of flipped learning applied to western costume history (플립 러닝을 활용한 서양복식사 수업 사례 및 효과 - 고대 메소포타미아 복식을 중심으로 -)

  • The purpose of this study was to develop and examine the effects of flipped learning in ancient Mesopotamian costume history. The flipped learning class was designed to three steps(pre-class, in-class, after-class). Pre-class: Students learned the socio-cultural background of Mesopotamia by watching videos online and Mesopotamian costume with PPT. In-class: Students were evaluated for their prior learning through the quiz. After the quiz, the instructor had a supplementary mini-lecture. Then the advanced learning was progressed with the team project(Mesopotamian costume analysis) by online Louvre Museum. Students made a team presentation and the instructor provided feedback. After-class: The effectiveness of flipped learning was measured based on the students' self-reflective journals and class awareness surveys. As the results, students actively participated in flipped learning and the class was rated appropriate. Students were satisfied with the overall quality of the flipped learning class. The Effect of Flip Learning Classes in reflective journals were shown as 'related flipped learning style,' 'related online Louvre museum project,' 'understanding of cooperative learning,' and 'contents of the class'. In conclusion, the flipped learning applied to Mesopotamian costume history was positive as a learner-centered education.

Toward Students' Full Understanding of Trigonometric Ratios

  • Trigonometric ratios are difficult concepts to teach and learn in middle school. One of the reasons is that the mathematical terms (sine, cosine, tangent) don't convey the idea literally. This paper deals with the understanding of a concept from the learner's standpoint, and searches the orientation of teaching that make students to have full understanding of trigonometric ratios. Such full understanding contains at least five constructs as follows: skill-algorithm, property-proof, use-application, representation-metaphor, history-culture understanding [Usiskin, Z. (2012). Despite multi-aspects of understanding, especially, the history-culture aspect is not yet a part of the mathematics class on the trigonometric ratios. In this respect this study investigated the effect of history approach on students' understanding when the history approach focused on the mathematical terms is used to teach the concept of trigonometric ratios in Grade 9 mathematics class. As results, the experimental group obtained help in more full understanding on the trigonometric ratios through such teaching than the control group. This implies that the historical derivation of mathematical terms as well as the context of mathematical concepts should be dealt in the math class for the more full understanding of some mathematical concepts.

  • In this study, in order to use history of mathematics effectively, we investigate the pre-service teachers' perceptions about utilizing history of mathematics. As a result, we must introduce history of mathematics will be able to apply concretely in class to the pre-service teachers. And We must provide the method which is various will be able to apply history of mathematics in class to the pre-service teachers enough. Also, We must provide the instance which relates in utilizing history of mathematics to pre-service teachers enough.

Blended Learning Strategy in Smart Learning (스마트 학습 기반 블렌디드 수업 적용 연구)

  • This study is for analyzing the effect of smart blended instructional strategy in history class. The effectiveness of this strategy is set as students' academic achievement and learning interest. This study is applied to elementary school students who participated in history class by classifying the experiment group with smart blended instructional strategy and the comparison group with traditional teaching method. As a result of the t-test, the smart blended instructional strategy positively affected the students' academic achievement and learning interest. Through the qualitative analysis, the students' understanding of the class is improved and the concentration is also improved.

The soil effect on the seismic behaviour of reinforced concrete buildings

  • This paper investigates the soil effect on seismic behaviour of reinforced concrete (RC) buildings by using the spread plastic hinge model which includes material and geometric nonlinearity of the structural members. Therefore, typical reinforced concrete frame buildings are selected and nonlinear dynamic time history analyses and pushover analyses are performed. Three earthquake acceleration records are selected for nonlinear dynamic time history analyses. These records are adjusted to be compatible with the design spectrum defined in Turkish Seismic Code. Interstory drifts and damages of selected buildings are compared according to local soil classes. Also, capacity curves of these buildings are compared with maximum responses obtained from nonlinear dynamic time history analyses. The results show that, soil class influences the seismic behaviour of reinforced concrete buildings, significantly.

  • For this purpose, most of all, we thought over the theoretical background for the application of Web-resources to the teaching and learning program at the school mathematics. Second, we looked into the applied class and the class pattern with the internet. And then, we arranged the cases using the internet web materials. The last, we mentioned what the matters of learning based on the web are and what the teacher's roles are.

A Study on the Teachers' Perceptions about the Applying of the History of Korean Science in Elementary Science Class (초등학교 과학 수업에서 한국과학사 자료의 활용에 대한 교사들의 인식)

  • The purpose of this study was to analyse the teachers' perception about the applying the history of Korean science in elementary science class. To research the educational value and application of the history of Korean Science in Elementary science class, 202 teachers of elementary school were asked to reply the questionnaire of 5-point Likert scale and Elementary science textbooks were analysed. The results of this study indicated that 4th grade science textbooks does not include the history of Korean Science, and a majority of teachers perceived positively about its educational value. 4th grade teachers showed relatively negative perception on the educational value of the history of Korean Science and Elementary school teachers were very positive about including it as the main classes of the curriculum.
