This Paper aims to introduce Euler's life, works and thoughts, to show that it is his Christian worldview that enables his achievements. His life teaches us the lesson that examining philosophical base and historical background is crucial to understand mathematics or mathematicians, and that it is necessary to overcome given conditions and environments rather than expect better environments to reach meaningful achievements.

In this paper, we study the symmetry of figures in elementary geometry. First, we investigate the historical and mathematical background of symmetry of figures and we explore the suitable teaching and learning methods for symmetry in elementary geometry. As a ritual that deals with the issues of human life and death, and that embodies complicated cultural implications, funerals have been an important material to refer to in considering the spiritual life as well as the social aspects of contemporary people. The present study on the 19th-century Western funerals is significant in that current funerals have been formed and changed from the ancient practice in a long historical background. The funeral patterns in 1890 to 1910, the period when reformatory movements started to appear in the custom concerning death, have been changed and fixed to be the current funeral custom. The range of the present study is limited to the characteristics of enbalmment, funeral processions and ceremonies, as well as the costumes for the mourning period. The research method employed in the study is the review of literature concerning death and funeral rituals, previous studies, domestic and international technical literature, and photographs or paintings.

Definition of health education can be various depending on historical background and individual point of view. In the industrialized era when health promotion is given a high priority in health activities, health education could be defined as a combination of planned learning experiences and social actions, which expand health knowledge and experiences of individuals and communities in order to meet their health needs, change harmful health behaviors to be desirable for health promotion and motivate them to do that. To realize the proposed definition of health education, health education should develop new policies in harmony with health promotion, facilitate the development of human resources, reflect the modern educational technology, strengthen multisectoral approach, and pay more attention to monitoring and evaluation. To fulfill the above mentioned role, health education approach should shift foci from diseases to health orientation, from individualistic health behavior modification to a systematic change of the general public, from medical domination to recognition of lay competence and from authoritarian health education to supportive health education.

The purpose of this study was to analyzed factors that influenced the degree of satisfaction difference of domestic and imported theatre costumes. One hundred and fifty theatrical artists were surveyed by questionnaires, and response from 128 was statistically analyzed. The data was analyzed using frequency, and paired t-test with SPSSWIN 10.0. The results were as follows. 1. The degree of satisfaction between domestic and imported theatrical costumes was different significantly. 2. The degree of satisfaction of domestic theatrical costumes was tow in the areas of design, color, fabric, and suitability with a historical background, compared with imported costumes. A major cause of the low degree of satisfaction was the lack of funds and professional theatrical costume designers. 3. The degree of satisfaction of imported theatrical costumes was low in the cost, size, and alteration and mending facilities, compared with the domestic costumes. The problems of size was caused by the shape difference between Koreans and a foreigners 4. further research should be conducted into the theatre costumes suitable for the domestic theatrical artists's size, and body shape.

This thesis is related with Anti-dumping law about Korea's export in EU. Indeed, Korea' export to EU market is how related to EU's Anti-dumping law this study was intended to reveal from a legal point of view. For this purpose from EU's Anti-dumping law's institution at present to application historical channel was examined and is showed Anti-dumping law's application procedure briefly. Throughout this study what we could get are EU's Anti-dumping law based on a statute, EU's Anti-dumping law's institution background and the law's application procedure & effects.

South Asian's growing obsession with fair skin has made the cosmetic industry into a multibillion-dollar trade over the last decade alone. With reports of toxicity and potential mutagenicity of conventional skin lightening agents, cosmetic industries are looking for plant-based skin whitening formulations. In this review some potential depigmentation agents from South Asian region are discussed, including their historical background, biochemical characteristics and recent findings on their depigmenting activity.

The ozone layer monitoring program of the Global Environment Laboratory at Yonsei University in Seoul, established as one of the Global Ozone Observing System($GO_3OS$) of the World Meteorological Organization(WMO), has been carried out daily by measuring total ozone and its vertical distribution using a Dobson Ozone Spectrophotometer(Beck #124) since 1984. In this paper, we review the organization and the historical background of ozone measurements in Korea, describe data acquisition and analysis systems, and briefly summarize the results from our ozone observations.

Reliability plays a pivotal role in products safety and quality. DoD RIAC recently developed a new reliability prediction methodology, $217Plus^{TM}$, for electronic systems. It officially replaces the well-known MIL-HDBK-217 and is expected to be widely used. Although theoretic study about $217Plus^{TM}$ and its application towards field systems seem to be attractive, it is also desirable to understand the general background of its development. In this paper, we performed a historical review of the arenas related to reliability prediction. Due to the vast of materials, our scope was limited to the development of $217Plus^{TM}$. We first reviewed Rome Laboratory and RIAC. We then explained the development course of reliability methods, MIL-HDBK-217, PRISM, and 217-Plus. This review will form not only a good understanding of the methodology but a basis for future study. We conclude this study with provision of future research areas.

Culture has long been associated with and advanced by stone as observed in prehistoric dolmen, menhir, megalith monuments, memo-rial stones, and others. The closs association of monuments is seen even in an earlist form of culture and is witnessed to evolve with human history. Korea, with its large quality granite repository, has been active with granite-based monuments in various forms of towers, bridges, and larterns. These stone structures are so abundant throughout Korea that Korea has been called the country of stone tower in Asia. With this historical background, we survey these Korean memorial stone and monuments, found at roadsides, momerial buildings, village entrances, scenic places, schools, sermon halls, public pleasure ground, and other common places. Based on installation orientation, location, and size, a particular emphasis is on the structural value, meaning, beauty, and function of these momnuments coupled with trees, shrubs, water and appropriative landscapes.
