Huge amounts of contents are being uploaded every day on various streaming platforms. Among those videos, game and sports videos account for a great portion. The broadcasting companies sometimes create and provide highlight videos. However, these tasks are time-consuming and costly. In this paper, we propose models that automatically predict highlights in games and sports matches. While most previous approaches use visual information exclusively, our models use both audio and visual information, and present a way to understand short term and long term flows of videos. We also describe models that combine GAN to find better highlight features. The proposed models are evaluated on e-sports and baseball videos.

This paper proposes a method for estimating the illuminant chromaticity using the distributions of the camera responses obtained by a CCD camera in a real-world scene. Illuminant estimation using a highlight method is based on the geometric relation between a body and its surface reflection. In general, the pixels in a highlight region are affected by an illuminant geometric difference, camera quantization errors, and the non-uniformity of the CCD sensor. As such, this leads to inaccurate results if an illuminant is estimated using the pixels of a CCD camera without any preprocessing. Accordingly, to solve this problem the proposed method analyzes the distribution of the CCD camera responses and selects pixels using the Mahalanobis distance in highlight regions. The use of the Mahalanobis distance based on the camera responses enables the adaptive selection of valid pixels among the pixels distributed in the highlight regions. Lines are then determined based on the selected pixels with r-g chromaticity coordinates using a principal component analysis(PCA). Thereafter, the illuminant chromaticity is estimated based on the intersection points of the lines. Experimental results using the proposed method demonstrated a reduced estimation error compared with the conventional method.

In this paper, we propose a novel neural relighting that infers a relighted rendering image based on the user-guided specular highlight map. The proposed network utilizes a pre-trained neural renderer as a backbone network learned from the rendered image of a 3D scene with various lighting conditions. We jointly optimize a 3D light position and its associated relighted image by back-propagation, so that the difference between the base image and the relighted image is similar to the user-guided specular highlight map. The proposed method has the advantage of being able to explicitly infer the 3D lighting position, while providing the artists' preferred 2D screen-space interface. The performance of the proposed network was measured under the conditions that can establish ground truths, and the average error rate of light position estimations is 0.11, with the normalized 3D scene size.

A reflection signal in an active sonar using a high frequency is mainly formed of a specular reflection from the surface of an object along with several equivalent scatters inside, which are characterized by the spatial distribution of the highlight on the object. This study analyze the existing echo signal synthesis models eq, random distribution model, equivalent interval distribution model & MUTAHID(Modified Underwater TArget by HIlight Distribution) model for simulated target, and compare the characteristics of the reflected signal synthesis results for each model in various conditions. These highlight distribution models can be efficiently applied to the simulated target signals synthesis of various real systems requiring the echo signal synthesis on the underwater target.

In this paper, an algorithm for estimating the scene-illuminant color directly from an image is proposed. To determine the scene-illuminant color in the image. the intersection point between the light locus of camera (CCD) reponses and an approximated lines for the cluster of pixels in a highlight area on chromaticity coordinates is used. By using the predetermined characteristics of the used camera for some illuminants, this algorithm allows us to obtain more accurate estimation of the scene-illuminatnt color from a captured image than that the previous methods provide.
With the spread of social media and mobile devices, people spend more time on online than ever before. As more people participate in various online activities, much research has been conducted on how to make use of the time effectively and productively. In this paper, we propose two methods which can be used to extract highlights and make searchable media indexes using online social data. For highlight extraction, we collected the comments from the online baseball broadcasting website. We adopted peak-finding algorithm to analyze the frequency of comments uploaded on the comments section of the website. For each indexes, we collected postings from soap opera forums provided by a popular web service called DCInside. We extracted all the instances when a character's name is mentioned in postings users upload after watching TV, which can be used to create indexes when the character appears on screen for the given episode of the soap opera The evaluation results shows the possibility of the crowdsourcing-based media interaction for both highlight extraction and index building.
This study demonstrated the ability of a Landsat-8 OLI multispectral data to identify and delineate hydrothermal alteration zones around auriferous prospects within the crystalline basement, North-western Nigeria. Remote sensing techniques have been widely used in lithological, structural discrimination and alteration rock delineation, and in general geological studies. Several artisanal mining activities for gold deposit occur in the surrounding areas within the basement complex and the search for new possible mineralized zones have heightened in recent times. Systematic Landsat-8 OLI data processing methods such as colour composite, band ratio and minimum noise fraction were used in this study. Colour composite of band 4, 3 and 2 was displayed in Red-Green-Blue colour image to distinguish lithologies. Band ratio ${\frac{4}{2}}$ image displayed in red was used to highlight ferric-ion bearing minerals(hematite, goethite, jarosite) associated with hydrothermal alteration, band ratio ${\frac{5}{6}}$ image displayed in green was used to highlight ferrous-ion bearing minerals such as olivine, amphibole and pyroxenes, while ratio ${\frac{6}{7}}$ image displayed in blue was used to highlight clay minerals, micas, talc-carbonates, etc. Band rationing helped to reduce the topographic illumination effect within images. The result of this study showed the distribution of the lithological units and the hydrothermal alteration zone which can be further prospected for mineral reserves.
This paper proposes an automatic highlight building algorithm for soccer video by using the structural characteristics of broadcasted sports video that an interesting (or important) event (such as goal or foul) in sports video has a continuous replay shot surrounded by gradual shot change effect like wipe. This shot editing rule is used in this paper to analyze the structure of broadcated soccer video and extracts shot involving the important events to build a highlight. It first uses the spatial-temporal image of video to detect wipe transition effects and zoom out/in shot changes. They are used to detect the replay shot. However, using spatial-temporal image alone to detect the wipe transition effect requires too much computational resources and need to change algorithm if the wipe pattern is changed. For solving these problems, a two-pass detection algorithm and a pixel sub-sampling technique are proposed in this paper. Furthermore, to detect the zoom out/in shot change and replay shots more precisely, the green-area-ratio and the motion energy are also computed in the proposed scheme. Finally, highlight shots composed of event and player shot are extracted by using these pre-detected replay shot and zoom out/in shot change point. Proposed algorithm will be useful for web services or broadcasting services requiring abstracted soccer video.
