Agricultural extension programs in Korea had focused mainly on increased production, and the biggest pride of extension was the achievement of rice self-sufficency in 1970s and abundant vegetable and animal production in 1980s. Farming in Korea has changed rapidly in recent years and extension system on commercialized crops have not been satisfactorily developed to mete farmers` demands. Facing the emerging challenges of international competition and trade liberalization for agricultural commodities, the goals of extension should be focused on increased income and the welfare of coral communities. The transfering of agricultural extension educator from central government jobs to local ones has emerged recently under the trends of localization which resulted unstable job environment of extension educator. Intensive pre-service and in-service training of extension workers on current and advanced techologies are essential to upgrade the quality of extension services, and the future directions for professional development of agricultural extension educators in Korea were suggested as follows: 1. Establishing a national network on agricultural extension system to promote exchanges of information among counties and provinces, to conduct meetings and to publish information on agricultural extension. 2. Determining the implications of recent national and global trends on agricultural extension, and strenthening communication at local, national and international levels for an effective extension system in the era of localization, internationalization and globalization; 3. Recognizing the effect of number and quality of extension staff on the impact of extension and providing opportunities development and advancement of extension personnel through education, training, incentives and rewards; 4. Giving a higher priority to agricultural extension in national policies in order to ensure the adequacy of budgetary support and recognition of importance of extension by the ministries concerned and mass communications.
This study describes approaches to fisheries management that restrict access by fishers to an area in some way. When fishery closure is established as a technical conservation measure it is a form of input control as a Korea fisheries management system. There are many compelling reasons why a fisheries manager should seriously consider closed areas and/or time restrictions, either as a complement to other measures or as the primary facet of the Korean fisheries management strategy. Fishery closures have been shown to be effective in many fisheries and are an important tool in the management armoury. In many respects justifications for their use and the process of implementation are likely to be relatively straightforward compared to permanent area closures. From a Korean fisheries management perspective, the benefits that flow from fishery closures are usually less easy to predict than for other management measures. Moreover, even if one accepts that implementation of fisherg clossures will provide higher production levels in adjacent fished areas, the potential benefits may often be in danger of being largely dissipated. If, for example, the fishery remains open access, the increased production is likely to attract new entrants into the fishery, thereby driving it back towards bioeconomic equilibrium. From a Korean wider fisheries conservation perspective, however, fishery closures have important and clearly defensible roles to play and some form of zoning arrangement will often effectively serve conservation values. Given the increasing trend towards the establishment of national networks of fisherg closures, it seems likely that fisheries managers throughout the world will need to ensure that they are familiar with the issues surrounding these approaches. The importance of being explicit about the goals for fishery closures in Korea have been continually emphasised throughout this study. There may, of course, be multiple justifications for the measure, in which case it is important to try and specify them in order of priority.
This study was carried out as a basic fundamental research to propose a theoretical framework for Home Economics curriculum. This research employed the Delphi Method to reach a consensus with the experts in each related educational field of study for putting forth a newly proposed theoretical framework of a Home Economics curriculum. The finally proposed theoretical framework will definitely play a crucial role in establishing a standard framework for educational goals and curriculum content for Home Economics curriculum since it is put forth with a strong agreement from a high proportion of the expert groups. Results on the nature and characteristics of, structural framework of curriculum contents, and literacy through Home Economics were drawn from the 3-round Delphi survey: 1. Home economics has a liberal and practical-critical nature and it promotes enhancement of quality of life through a practical problem-solving process in maintaining family life. 2. The structural framework of the home economics curriculum contents is organized with three-dimensional components of content area (dimension 1), process area (dimension 2), focus of organizing content (dimension 3). 3. One's empowering capability through home economics education is proposed: inquiring knowledge and understanding phenomena for future society, solving practical problems in family life, developing higher order thinking skill, cultivating a positive attitude and a values system toward life.
An estimation of optimal requirement of additional N by cropping pattern and growth stage is very important for greenhouse watermelon. The objectives of this study were to estimate an amount of optimal additional N based on growth, N uptake and yield of watermelon. In order to achieve these goals, we performed the study at farmer's greenhouse with a fertigation system and watermelon was cultivated three times (spring, summer and autumn) in 2015. The levels of additional N were set up with x0.5, x0.75, x1.0 and x1.5 of the $NO_3$-N-based soil-testing N supply for watermelon cultivation. The trends of growth and N uptake of watermelon markedly differed from cropping pattern; spring (sigmoid), summer and autumn (linear). The yield of watermelon was the highest at summer season and followed by autumn and spring. Also, the x1.5N showed a significantly higher yield compared to other N treatments. On the basis of growth, N uptake and yield of watermelon, we estimated an optimal level of additional N by cropping pattern and growth stage as follows; 1) spring (transplanting ~ 6 WAT : 6 ~ 14 WAT : 14 ~ harvest = 5 : 90 : 5%), summer (transplanting ~ 4 WAT : 4 ~ 8 WAT : 8 ~ harvest = 25 : 50 : 25%) and autumn (transplanting ~ 4 WAT : 4 ~ harvesting : 50 : 50%). In conclusion, nutrient management, especially N, based on cropping pattern and growth stage was effective for favorable growth and yield of watermelon.
In this study, investigation into the impact of sensation seeking tendency and clothing attitudes upon brand variety seeking will be made through the presentation of sensation seeking tendency as consumer's motivation of clothing behavior and clothing attitude as parameter. To give goals of this study. First, to help the understanding of consumers by elucidating consumer's psychological characteristics against sensation seeking tendency, clothing attitude and diverse brands seeking. Second, to offer standard for specifying market by presenting theoretical as well as empirical data. Third. to create successful marketing strategy according to consumer groups and moreover to increase sales efficiency. Research results are as follows : As a result of investigating on which factor among sensation seeking tendency affects on seeking various brands, change seeking tendency and aesthetic seeking impact upon seeking various kinds of brands. Change seeking is turned out to be the most influential factor. Fashion leadership, fashion innovativeness, attention concentration, social approval and clothing interest had an impact on diverse kinds of brand seeking: there was a positive relations with fashion leadership. attention concentration. clothing interest and fashion innovativeness, whereas a negative link with social approval. Three factors of sensation seeking tendency, two factors, that is change seeking and aesthetic seeking. have direct and indirect paths that lead to diverse brand seeking, via clothing attitude. that is to say, clothing interest. fashion leadership. social approval and attention concentration. On the other hand, thrill and risk seeking only had indirect path. Aesthetic seeking showed higher significance to indirect effect on diverse brand seeking which takes clothing attitude as a parameter, than that of direct effect. Brand variety seeking was under considerable effect of fashion leadership, clothing interest and attention concentration, in order.

Background: Health risks associated with unhealthy behaviours in adolescent and university students contribute to the development of health problems in later life. During the past twenty years, there has been a dramatic increase in public, private, and professional interest in preventing disability and death through changes in lifestyle and participation in screening programs. The aim of the study was to evaluate university students' health-promoting lifestyle behaviour for cancer prevention. Method: This study was carried out on university students who had education in sports, health and social areas in Celal Bayar University, Manisa, Turkey. The health-promoting lifestyles of university students were measured with the "health-promoting lifestyle profile (HPLP)" The survey was conducted from March 2011 to July 2011 and the study sample consisted of 1007 university students. T-test, ANOVA and multiple regression analyses were used for statistical analyses. Results: In the univariate analyses, the overall HPLP score was significantly related to students' school, sex, age, school grades, their status of received health education lessons, place of birth, longest place of residence, current place of residence, health insurance, family income, alcohol use, their status in sports, and self-perceived health status. Healthier behaviour was found in those students whose parents had higher secondary degrees, and in students who had no siblings. In the multiple regression model, healthier behaviour was observed in Physical Education and Sports students, fourth-year students, those who exercised regularly, had a good self-perceived health status, who lived with their family, and who had received health education lessons. Conclusion: In general, in order to ensure cancer prevention and a healthy life style, social, cultural and sportive activities should be encouraged and educational programmes supporting these goals should be designed and applied in all stages of life from childhood through adulthood.
For the purpose of turning learners' locus of control into internal-controllable variables, counseling materials were developed, and attribution counseling was given. The counseling effects were practically confirmed by way of teaching and evaluation in the actual classes, and furthermore the efforts to provide learners with successful experiences in learning were repeatedly made. As a result, the conclusions are as follows: 1. The procedure of Individual counseling for learning attribution based on individual standard grades and data of the variable order of merit apparently shows learners that if learners are to try their best in learning, they will surely go far in terms of learning in the near future. 2. The procedure of Individual counseling for teaming attribution based on achievement distribution in individual behavior-oriented fields suggests to learners that how to learn is as important as how much effort they make. Surely enough, learners are required to make more effective and efficient efforts, considering their own learning abilities. 3. With the above 1, 2 procedures involved, learners have attributed locus of causality in achievement to their internal-controllable causes. 4. With preparatory assignments according to learner's abilities provided, even slower learners came to be assured that their constant efforts could give rise to success in learning achievement. 5. Above all, it was confirmed that the learners' struggling attitude might well have a significant correlation with achievement success. The learners who are willing to attribute locus of causality in achievement to their internal-controllable causes or strenuous efforts and intrinsic motivation tend to be convinced that they can address themselves to whatever faces them, so they can set up specific learning goals fit for their abilities. Accordingly, they will bit by bit acquire successful experiences (often called 'Aha' experiences) and in turn, feeling the senses of self-efficacy and self-esteem enough to push their efforts even further, they can grow to form a positive self-concept. With one successful experience after another fed back into learners, they are gradually motivated to bring the oncoming achievement expectation to a higher level. To conclude, it is necessary that instruction leading to internal-controllable attribution should be provided, inducing learners to recognize success and failure in learning achievement as a result of their strenuous efforts.
Top management's will was considered most positive by all of the surveyed local businesses, followed by organizational culture, information technology, evaluation and reward, and organizational structure in order. When influences of educational background on factors of success in knowledge management were analyzed, it was found that such background was affecting organizational structure at the significance level of 0.01 and information technology and top management's will at that of 0.05. Those who were more educated responded that success in knowledge management were dependent more on top management's will. but less on organizational structure. Concerning effects of organizational position on factors of success in knowledge management, it was found that such position was influencing top management's will at the significance level of 0.01 and organizational structure at that of 0.05. Those who were higher in organizational position responded that success in knowledge management were dependent less on top management's will, but more on organizational culture, and evaluation and reward. It as generally agreed among the surveyed businesses that knowledge management is a key strategy for business survival in the 21st century. To utilize knowledge management as their strategy, Korea's businesses should change their recognition of such management, reform their organizational culture, have CEOs of strong conviction and will and firmly establish their own information technology. It is necessary to make recognized the importance of knowledge management and culture knowledge management culture. If a person has a strong conviction or will of achieving goals by using intellectual efforts, creative imagination and necessary information, such information can be regarded as a proper knowledge. In conclusion, knowledge enterprises should strengthen their ability of knowledge use by associating their competition strategies with knowledge management. They also need to positively invest in the capture and new development of knowledge and build up infrastructures for knowledge management.
Objectives: This study was conducted to describe child perceived health knowledge, health education needs, and health behaviors by sex as a representative general characteristic and examined their associations for students' better health behavior changes. Methods: The survey participants were 410 fourth to sixth grade students in two elementary schools in Seoul, Korea. A total of 12 classes in two elementary schools were randomly selected and all students of the selected classes participated in the self-administered survey. The questionnaire contained the items of perceived health knowledge, health education needs (health topics which they want to know more), health behavior, and general characteristics. Results: Perceived health knowledge, health education needs, and health behaviors were, generally, better among girls than boys. Sexual differences were not large in perceived health knowledge, health education needs, health behaviors. Perceived health knowledge had significant positive correlation with health behaviors both in boys and girls(p <.01). The correlation between perceived health knowledge and health behaviors(r =.36) was two fold greater than correlation between health education needs and health behaviors(r =.18) among boys; where as the two correlations were similar to each other among girls. The significant factors were perceived health knowledge, sex, grade, and health education needs in order, and the four factors described health behaviors in 21.0%. The higher perceived health knowledge, girls, lower grade, and more health education needs was associated with the better health behaviors. Conclusions: There was significant sexual difference of the relationship between health knowledge, health education needs, and health behaviors among children. Perceived health knowledge was more important factor to improve health behaviors among boys while perceived health knowledge and health education needs had equal importance on health behaviors among girls. Therefore, knowledge building should be an essential part of health education class goals for building better health behaviors.
Purpose: CMMI is a process model used to assess or improve an organization's software development capabilities. This paper deals with the quality indicators when using CMMI and their priorities for possible improvement. Methods: The 22 process areas and 167 practices of CMMI are matched with 60 indicators of Quality Scorecard(QSC) first to analyze the balance of CMMI in terms of prevention, appraisal, and final result categories and second to isolate a set of key areas for quality focused performance measures. Results: A total of 86.2% (144 out of 167) CMMI practices were mapped to QSC. According to the CMMI level of maturity, level 2 and 3 accounted for more than 75% of the total. The practices at the maturity level of 4 and 5 were mapped to more than 52% of the final result's measurements. It has been observed that CMMI practices need further elaboration at higher levels to consider prevention, appraisal, and final results simultaneously. Conclusion: In order to improve the quality performance of the organization by applying CMMI, the final result measures should be refined in metrics, cycles, and methods, and then corrective actions could be conducted to improve the performance of CMMI practices. This strategy would help the practitioners benefit from CMMI in fostering the overall quality level of key activities for the organization's business goals.
