Here, in this research we have studied a two dimensional problem in a homogeneous orthotropic magneto-thermoelastic medium with higher order dual-phase-lag heat transfer with combined effects of rotation and hall current in generalized thermoelasticity due to time harmonic sources. As an application the bounding surface is subjected to uniformly distributed and concentrated loads (mechanical and thermal source). Fourier transform technique is used to solve the problem. The expressions for displacement components, stress components and temperature change are derived in frequency domain. Numerical inversion technique has been used to obtain the results in physical domain. The effect of frequency has been depicted with the help of graphs.
Vibration disturbances induced by the reaction wheels can severely degrade the performance of high precision payloads on board satellites with high pointing stability requirements. The unwanted disturbances produced by the reaction wheels are composed of fundamental harmonic disturbances due to the flywheel imbalance and sub/higher harmonic disturbances due to bearing irregularities, motor imperfections and so on. Because the wheel speed is constantly changed during the operation of a reaction wheel, the vibration disturbance induced by the reaction wheels can magnify the satellite vibration when the rotating frequency of wheel meets the natural frequency of satellite structure. In order to provide an effective isolation of the reaction wheel disturbances, isolation performance of a hybrid vibration isolator is investigated. In this paper, hybrid vibration isolator that combines passive and active components is developed and its hybrid isolation performance using notch filter control is evaluated in single-axis. The hybrid isolation performance using notch filter control show additional performance improvement compared to the results using only passive components.
STSAT RWA (Reaction Wheel Assembly) micro-vibration is measured using KISTLER dynamic plate that can provide the time signals of three orthogonal forces and torques simultaneously up to 400Hz. In the post-processing, measured data are evaluated with respect to the wheel spin rate in both time and frequency domains, and the static/dynamic unbalances are evaluated from the extracted first harmonic component. Also the friction torque profile at each wheel speed is estimated from the measured data. Several higher order harmonic components are observed, that comes from its rotor shape as well as the wheel bearing characteristics. One of the most peculiar characteristics of this wheel is that the dynamic properties of two radial unbalance components are much different from each other as the RWA mounting configuration on a spacecraft is different from conventional RWA mounting configuration. Rocking mode is not appeared below 400Hz for all operating speed because the wheel size is very small. The post-processed results will be used for jitter analysis of STSAT due to RWA micro-vibration.
Reactors are connected with capacitors to passive filter circuits for reducing harmonics caused by power conversion application. This passive filter frequently gets out of order by voltage and current stress. Especially filter reactor has too much voltage harmonics components, its trouble rate is higher than capacitor. In this paper, we analyzed voltage and current of reactor and capacitor used for passive filter by simulation and measurement. If reactor has a tolerance on variation of reactance value, series resonance frequency is different from originally filter design frequency and parallel resonance can be generated at the close point of the former. Because filter absorbs harmonic component of non-linear load, much of harmonic voltage has been impacted on reactor.
This paper describes the resistive FET mixer with low IF for the 4-Ch DBF(Digital Beam Forming) receiver with LNA(Low Noise Amplifier). This DBF receiver based on the direct conversion method is generally suitable for high-speed wireless mobile communications. A radio frequency(RF), a local oscillator(LO) and an intermediate frequency(IF) considered in this research are 2.09 ㎓, 2.08 ㎓ and 10㎒, respectively. The RF input power, LO input power and Vgs are used -10㏈m, 6㏈m and -0.4 V, respectively. In the 4-Ch resistive FET mixer with LNA, the measured IF and harmonic components of 10㎒, 20㎒, 2.09㎓ and 4.17㎓ are about -12.5 ㏈m, -57㏈m, -40㏈m and -54㏈m, respectively. The IF output power observed at each channel of 10㎒ is about -12.5㏈m and it is higher 27.5 ㏈m than the maximum harmonic component of 2.09㎓. Each IF output spectrum of the 4-Ch is observed almost same value and it shows a good agreement with the prediction.
In this paper, we briefly introduce the test bench and test method of RWA micro-vibration. TAMAM RWA (Reaction Wheel Assembly) micro-vibration was measured on a KISTLER dynamic plate which can measure time signals of three orthogonal forces and torques simultaneously up to 400Hz, and test data was analyzed. Measured data were evaluated with respect to the wheel spin rate and the static/dynamic unbalances were estimated from the extracted first harmonic component. The estimated static and dynamic unbalances were 0.79gㆍcm and 17.4gㆍ$\textrm{cm}^2$ respectively. The resonance mode and two rocking modes were observed as a results of its frequency analysis. Several higher order harmonic components were observed, which comes from its rotor shape as well as the wheel bearing.
With biological effects by ELF (Extremely Low Frequency) magnetic field generated from power system, the transient magnetic field from electric appliances is a major issue presently. Because the transient magnetic field induces higher current than the power frequency field inside living bodies, transient magnetic field exposure has been much focused. In this paper, it is shown that transient magnetic field from electric home appliances can be characterized as magnetic dipole moment. In this method, the dipole moment vector is assumed by allowing an uncertainty of 6dB in the estimated field. A parameter M that represents biological interaction was applied also. The proposed method was applied to 7 types of appliances (hair drier, heater, VDT, etc.) and their equivalent magnetic dipole moment and harmonic components were estimated. As the results, the useful data for quantifying magnetic field distribution around electric appliances were obtained.
This paper is a study on frequency analysis and electronic noise reduction of energy storage system (ESS). We acquired 4 necessary data for about 2 minutes and 4 seconds using a sampling frequency of 10,000 Hz in ESS. Fast Fourier transform (FFT) was used for electronic noise analysis from the acquired data. As a result, it was confirmed that DC component, fundamental wave, second and higher harmonic component exist. For the attenuation of harmonics, low-pass filter (LPF) was applied. We confirmed that an attenuation of approximately 59.3% appears from the second harmonic. The presence of many harmonic components in the data of the ESS was expected to occur due to the insufficiency of optimization among the modules inside the ESS. Therefore, we propose that a national certification system for ESS should be introduced to settle down the issue properly.
During a model test of Hutton TLP, a "ringing" response was first observed about 20 years ago. This phenomenon is a resonant build up over the time of wave period and this burst-like motion can cause the extreme load on the TLP tether. It is often detected in the large and steep irregular waves but the generation mechanism leading to the "ringing" is not yet well understood. According to the research since then, the higher order harmonic components may account for the "ringing" on the floating offshore structures. The main purpose of the present research is, thus, to measure the higher harmonic forces exerted on a vertical truncated circular column and to compare them with available data. A vertical truncated cylinder with a diameter of 3.5inch and a draft of 10.5inch is used as a test structure, which is a scaled model of ISSC TLP column. The cylinder is installed at a distance of 45ft from the wave maker in order to avoid parasitic waves created in the wave flap. Attached to the upper part of the cylinder are two force gages to measure the horizontal (surge) and vertical (heave) forces on the cylinder. The incoming waves are Stokes waves with a slope ranging from 0.06 to 0.24. The forces and waves are measured for 60 seconds with a sampling rate of 50 Hz. Among the recorded data, the first 10 waves are excluded because of transient behavior of the waves and the next The horizontal and vertical forces are analyzed up to 5th order harmonics. The horizontal forces are then compared to the values from the theoretical model called "FNV model". In addition, force transfer functions are also investigated. Major findings in this research are below. 1) The first order forces measured are slightly larger than the theoretical values of "FNV model" 2) The "FNV model" considerably overpredicts the second order forces. 3) The larger the amplitude and more extreme the wave slope, the smaller the predictions are compared to the experimental. 4) The higher harmonic forces are significantly smaller than the first harmonic force for all wave parameters. 5) The normalized forces vs. waves slopes are almost constant in the lower harmonics but vary a lot in the higher harmonics. 6) The trend of forces is more nonlinear in the horizontal forces than in the vertical forces as the wave slope increases. 7) The part of the results above is also observed by other researchers and confirmed again through the present work.
