Effects of a First Aid Coaching Program on First Aid Knowledge, Confidence, and Performance of Child Care Teachers

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to develop a first aid coaching program (FACP) and to investigate its effects on the first aid knowledge, confidence, and performance of childcare teachers. Methods: A Delphi survey that included 16 experts was used to develop the FACP. A total of 60 participants were included to test the effectiveness of the program. The FACP developed using the survey results focused on improving first aid knowledge, confidence, and performance using a coaching-based method. First aid and cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) performance was assessed using 39 items from the program content. Results: Using a 3-round Delphi survey, 6 areas and 42 detailed topics for group and individual coaching programs were developed. The knowledge scores were significantly higher in the experimental group than in the control group (t=4.24, p=.001). The confidence scores were significantly higher in the experimental group than in the control group (F=3.89, p<.001). The performance scores were significantly higher in the experimental group than in the control group (t=12.40, p<.001). Conclusion: Continuous application of the FACP among child care teachers is expected to minimize the harm caused by minor accidents at child care facilities. This program should be formally implemented on a consistent basis.

이공 계열 교수의 강의 실행에 대한 이해: 문화역사적 활동이론(CHAT)을 활용한 사례연구 (An Understanding of Professors' Performance of Teaching in College of Science and Engineering: A Case Study Using the CHAT)

  • In this study, we analyzed professors' performance of teaching in college of science and engineering from the perspective of the CHAT. Two professors volunteered to participate in this study. Their syllabi were collected before the lectures, and their lectures were observed and videotaped. Semi-structured interviews were conducted before and after their lectures. The CHAT components were classified into 'subjects', 'objects', 'rules', 'communities', 'division of labor', and 'tools'. We extracted the content of six CHAT components from the data and constructed the analysis framework based on the extracted contents. The analyses of the results revealed that both professors had difficulties due to the contradictions among the components of subject, object, rules, and community in the activity system. Both professors used various strategies to relieve the contradiction related to students' ability, such as inviting students to participate in their lecture. However the extent of providing opportunities to students to participate was different between two professors. Meanwhile, both professors preferred to continue their own strategies, because they observed positive changes in students' learning. In other words, the success experiences of two professors influenced their performances of teaching. We discussed some suggestions to improve the quality of the lecture in the college of science and engineering.

수술실 간호사의 임상등급에 따른 간호역량 (A Study on the Clinical Competence according to Clinical Ladder of Operating Room Nurses)

  • Purpose: This study was to explore the clinical competence according to clinical ladder of operating room nurses. Method: The subjects were 125 the operating room nurses working at five university hospitals in four city. The instrument to measure the clinical competency and clinical performance of OR nurses was developed by researcher. It consisted of 12 domains of clinical competence and 23 items of clinical performance. Results: Clinical competence and clinical performance of OR nurses group devided into 4 groups by clinical ladder such as 0-12month, 13-36 mon. 37-84 mon. over 85 month were significantly different. More experienced nurses performed higher level of clinical performance and competency in 23 items and 12 domains. Conclusion: It will be needed to add concrete behavioral patterns and behavioral indicators of nursing competencies, per stage of the clinical ladder, by repetitive studies on nurses of various hospitals and to confirm the validity.

응급실 초진간호업무 측정도구 개발 (Development of an Instrument to Measure Triage Nursing Work in Emergency Room)

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to develop an instrument to assess emergency room nurses' knowledge and performance of triage nursing. Methods: The instrument was developed through the stages of conceptual construction, item development, and validity and reliability testing. For the validity and reliability testing, data collected from 48 emergency room nurses using questionnaires was analyzed through descriptive statistics, factor analysis, and reliability coefficients. Results: The knowledge part consisted of 30 items in nine areas, and its reliability was low (KR-20 =0.50). The correct-answer rate was 71.8%. The performance section derived from the factor analysis was composed of two factors with nine items in the triage domain and three factors with 12 items in the non triage domain. The explanatory powers of these factors for the domains were 66.1% and 70.4%, respectively. The overall reliability (Cronbach's ${\alpha}$) was .95, and the reliabilities for the two domains were .88 and .91, respectively. The nurses' mean performance level was 3.2(${\pm}0.45$). Conclusion: The specific contents of the triage nursing work were identified from the developed scale; further research is necessary to in order to develop a scale capable of higher reliability and validity.

영재교육 담당교원의 핵심역량 인식에 대한 중요도와 실행도(IPA) 분석 (Importance-Performance Analysis (IPA) of the Core Competence of Gifted Education Teachers)

  • 본 연구는 영재교육 담당교원의 핵심역량에 대한 중요도와 실행도는 어떠한지 알아보는데 목적이 있다. 이를 위해 초등학교 수학과 과학영역의 영재 담당 교원 114명을 대상으로 영재교육 담당교원의 핵심역량에 대한 중요도와 실행도 설문을 실시하였으며 그 결과를 IPA Matrix를 활용하여 분석하였다. 연구결과, 첫째, 영재교육 담당 교원들의 핵심역량에 대한 중요도과 실행도에 있어 유의한 차이가 나타났다. 둘째, IPA Matrix 분석을 살펴보면 핵심역량 중 지식과 이해, 연구와 교수, 열정과 동기, 윤리와 도덕의 역량은 중요도와 실행도 모두 높게 나타났으나, 소통과 실행, 전문성 교육과정개발 역량은 중요도와 실행도 모두 낮게 분포하는 것으로 나타났다. 세부역량별 차이에 있어 인지적 역량군에서는 '영재성 발달에 대한 지식', '질문에 대한 창의적 답변 능력', '교과 간 융합능력', '창의적 문제해결력 증진을 위한 교수능력'과 정의적 역량군에서는 '영재학생의 문제행동파악'이 중요도는 높지만 실행도는 낮은 것으로 나타났다. 셋째, 수학-과학 영역별 핵심역량의 중요도와 실행도를 분석한 결과, 차이가 있는 영역은 '열정과 동기'로 수학에서는 중요도와 실행도 모두 높은 영역에 위치하는 것으로 나타난 반면, 과학에서는 중요도는 낮고 실행도는 높은 영역에 위치하는 것으로 나타났다. 추가적으로 수학영역과 과학영역의 세부역량별 차이를 살펴본 결과, 수학영역에서는 '영재성 발달에 대한 지식'과 '학급에서의 영재아 판별 능력', '정보수집과 활용능력', '다양한 질문에 대한 창의적 답변능력'이 중요도에 비해 실행도가 낮은 영역에 위치하는 것으로 나타났다. 반면 과학영역의 경우는 '해당교과에 대한 고차원적 분석과 종합능력', '해당 교과와 타 교과와의 융합 능력', '영재아에게 적합한 자기주도학습력 향상을 위한 교수법', '영재학생의 문제행동 파악'과 '상담기법을 활용한 영재 상담'이 중요도는 높으나 실행도가 낮은 영역에 위치하는 것으로 나타났다.

Factors Affecting Student Performance in E-Learning: A Case Study of Higher Educational Institutions in Indonesia

  • This study aims to determine the factors influencing student performance using the teaching and learning process through e-learning based on the unified theory of acceptance and use technology (UTAUT). This study also sets out to propose additional variables to expand the UTAUT model to be more suitable to use in higher education. This research conducted a literature review, expert interviews, and a self-administered survey involving 200 students at tertiary institutions in Riau province, Indonesia. The questionnaire data were analyzed using SmartPLS 2. This study shows that UTAUT constructs, namely, social influence, facility conditions, and effort expectancy have a significant influence on student behavior and performance, while the performance expectancy variable shows no significant effect. The additional variables, including lecturer characteristics, external motivation, and organizational structure, directly affect student performance. However, concerning student behavior, motivation and environment are the only variables with a significant effect. The results of this study suggest the behavior deteminant such as lecturer characteristics, motivation and environment, and organizational structure improve student performance. This study investigates factors affecting the performance of university students through the learning employing e-learning by developing the UTAUT constructs to include the lecturer characteristics, motivation and environment, and organizational structure in improving student performance.

중소기업의 수출지원제도의 활용과 수출혁신성 그리고 수출성과 간의 구조적 관계 (The Structural Relationship between the Use of Export Promotion Programs, Export Innovativeness, and Export Performance of SMEs)

  • This study aims to examine an effective path that links the use of export promotion programs(EPPs) to the export performance of SMEs. In particular, the study focuses on what role the export innovativeness of SMEs plays between EPPs and export performance. In order to verify the conceptual model, the structural equation modeling is applied, using the data collected from a sample of 152 Korean SME exporters. The study highlights the notion that the relationship between the use of EPPs and export performance is not direct and that higher performance can be achieved through export innovativeness, the ability to reconstruct internal resources and to respond quickly to changes in the export market. The results of the empirical analysis show that EPPs partially mediate the relationship between export market-orientation and export innovativeness, and that such mediated export innovativeness continues to fully mediate the relationship between EPPs and export performance. That is, if SMEs make good use of EPPs that meet their needs, they can be encouraged to re-bundle or strengthen their existing resources and capabilities, which in turn lead to higher export performance. The study thus helps extend understanding of EPPs and export performance literature.

신입간호사의 정서지능, 자아탄력성, 핵심자기평가가 간호업무수행에 미치는 영향 (The Influences between New Nurses' Nursing Performance, Emotional Intelligence, Self-resiliency and Core Self-evaluation)

  • 본 연구는 신입간호사의 정서지능, 자아탄력성, 핵심자기평가가 간호업무수행에 미치는 영향을 파악하는 서술적 조사연구이다. 대상자는 경기도에 소재한 800병상 이상의 종합병원 2곳에서 근무하는 12개월 미만의 신입간호사 114명이었다. 자료 수집은 2013년 7월부터 11월까지 간호업무수행, 정서지능, 자아탄력성, 핵심자기평가에 대해 구조화된 설문지를 이용하여 측정하였다. 연구의 결과, 신입간호사의 교육 정도, 직무만족도, 근무부서 업무만족도에 따라 간호업무수행 정도의 차이가 있었으며, 정서지능, 자아탄력성, 핵심자기평가가 높을수록 간호업무수행 정도는 높았다. 정서지능, 교육수준, 핵심자기평가와 직무만족도는 간호업무수행 정도를 잘 예측하는 변수로 확인되었고, 간호업무수행 정도를 33% 설명하는 것으로 나타났다. 따라서 신입간호사의 교육 정도와 직무만족도를 고려하여 신입간호사 오리엔테이션부터 간호업무수행 외에 정서지능과 핵심자기평가를 포함한 실제적인 실무적응 훈련교육이 필요하다.

IPA 기법을 활용한 숲해설가 직무교육프로그램에 대한 중요도와 성취도 차이분석 (Identification of Differences between Importance and Performance of Forest Interpreter Training Programs using the IPA Method)

  • 본 연구는 2014년 숲해설가 직무교육프로그램을 대상으로 중요도와 성취도 분석(IPA)을 이용하여 직무교육프로그램을 평가하고 문제점 및 향후방안에 대한 시사점 제공을 목적으로 이루어졌다. 먼저 숲해설가 직무교육프로그램 중요도와 성취도의 전체평균을 비교한 결과 중요도가 성취도보다 높게 나타났다. IPA 분석을 실시한 결과 I 사분면에 해당하는 항목은 해설가로서의 자신감, 적극적 참여, 숲의 가치를 깨달음, 숲에 대한 이해의 폭 고양, 해설가의 임무 이해, 해설가의 자질 이해로 6개 항목이었으며, II 사분면에 해당하는 항목은 교육내용의 흥미성과 교육을 통하여 많은 것을 배우는 것으로 2개의 변수가 추출되었다. 다음으로 III 사분면에 해당하는 항목은 서비스 대처방법, 해설프로그램 직접기획, 교육내용의 명료성, 교육내용의 정확성, 교육내용의 타당성, 적절한 규모의 학생 수, 적당한 교육시간으로 7개 항목이었으며 마지막으로 IV 사분면에 해당하는 항목은 교육내용 청취시의 집중력, 교육주제에 대한 이해로 2개의 항목이 추출되었다.

공대생들의 협동학습에서 학습양식유형 및 셀프리더십과 팀 수행 (Learning Style, Self-leadership and Team Performance in the Cooperative Learning of Engineering College Students)

  • 본 연구는 협동학습에서 팀 프로젝트를 수행하는 공대생들을 대상으로 학습양식유형 및 셀프리더십이 팀 수행 성적과 어떤 관련성이 있는 지를 파악함으로써 협동학습 효과의 극대화를 위한 기초소양교육 프로그램을 구성하는 데 도움이 되는 기초정보를 제공하기 위해 수행되었다. 팀 수행 성적이 상, 하위 30%에 해당하는 집단 간에 학습양식유형의 분포를 비교한 결과, 상위권 집단의 약 70%가 수렴자와 적응자에 해당된 반면, 하위권 집단의 약 67%가 적응자와 분산자에 해당되었다. 또한 상위권 학생들의 셀프리더십이 전반적으로 높았고, 특히 자기관찰, 자기처벌, 자연적 보상, 성공적 수행 상상하기, 자기대화, 신념과 가정분석 전략을 더 잘 실천하는 것으로 나타났다. 마지막으로 본 연구의 제한점과 후속연구를 위한 제언이 논의되었다.
