Crack Propagation at Boundary Face of Composite Compact Tension Specimen

  • In this study, fatigue crack propagation in composite material under fatigue is investigated by simulation result. When another material on the specimen exists vertically to the crack line, the phenomena that crack may go straight or propagate along the boundary face according to the elastic modulus ratio of another material to matrix are investigated with compact tension specimen by compliance method. Crack propagation direction is evaluated by compliance method. By arranging this study result systematically about the crack propagation behavior due to the stiffness of inhomogeneous material, high-tech material (automobile, aircraft and steel industry) can be improved. The estimation of safety design and life (construction & nuclear power station, etc.) will be of great value industrially.

Knowledge Spillover Effects on Agglomerations of Environment-related Industries

  • The number of environment-related technologies has increased remarkably over the past two decades, as has the public's interest in effective resource use and ways to reduce the effects of global warming. Industries that are based on environment-related technologies are thus growing rapidly. Previous studies revealed that externalities derived from the population concentration in urban areas positively affect agglomerations of high-tech industries. Such externalities have been named the "knowledge spillover effect". The purposes of the present paper are to (1) give a thumbnail sketch of the locations of environment-related industries around the world, using the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development environment-related patent statistics, and (2) explicate the effects of the Marshall-Arrow-Romer (MAR) and Jacobs externalities, which result from population concentrations in urban areas, on the agglomeration of environment-related industries in Sweden. The analysis revealed that environment-related industries are located chiefly in urban areas across the globe, and that only the MAR externalities influenced positively on the agglomeration of these industries in Sweden.

  • Nowadays, cloud computing and big data analytics are at the center of many industries' concerns to take advantage of the potential benefits of building future smart cities. The integration of cloud computing and big data analytics is the main reason for massive adoption in many organizations, avoiding the potential complexities of on-premise big data systems. With these two technologies, the manufacturing industry, healthcare system, education, academe, etc. are developing rapidly, and they will offer various benefits to expand their domains. In this issue, we present a summary of 18 high-quality accepted articles following a rigorous review process in the field of cloud computing and big data analytics.

  • RFID is an emerging technology and rapidly applied to various industries due to its high-tech characteristic and convenience. Although RFID provides valuable benefits. it might also generate serious privacy problems. Previous studies show that privacy issues should be incorporated in developing RFID systems and more detailed privacy protection methods. However. they just provide basic concept, rough guideline. and simple architecture about RFID privacy protection. Industry needs more structured framework and detailed systematic process to incorporate privacy issues into the RFID system. The purpose of this paper is to develop a framework and detailed process design of RFID privacy protection issues in retail industries. A framework is developed based on individual sensitivity concept, RFID contents, and interface with EPC global standard. Case study is applied to validate the framework and it turns out to be useful. It is expected that the proposed framework and process design would provide more systematic guide lines to solving RFID privacy problems.

  • The purpose of this study is to suggest the direction of the future fashion by grasping the cyber fashion, which is discussed outstandingly in the recent fashion world, into internal expression and external features. The result of this study is as follows: Cyber fashion means the application of the electronic image, dynamic phenonmenon of machine, and the effects of light to fashion, and it has some external features of geometrical pattern, dynamic structure, and high-tech material and color: Aside from this noticeable characteristics, cyber fashion has some internal features of the direction toward future, the anti-culture, and the surreal. In this cyber fashion, first, computer will be introduced and used as the means to realize a dream of human being. Second, it will be designed with the ideal feature of future society. Third, it will be possible to develope material and design to solve ecological issue of human beings. Fourth, the fashion to give the peace and stability to human being will be popular.

  • Arc-furnace facilities consume 9,895,165(MWh) which is about 69.6 Percent of electronic furnace power consumption. and interior of a country demand power have inclosed annual. but becaused of the problem of cost, power plant location, and environment have faced difficulty to electric power supply. In this paper, Examining Load cutting of Arc-furnace that is dominating high weight of industry electric power use. and it is expected to solve easily electric power supply and demand problem by highest Priority load cutting examination of Arc-furnace when electric power supply and demand problem happens to area electric power system when is urgent.

  • In the case of the manufacturing industry that produces high-tech components such as semiconductors and large flat panel displays, the manufacturing space is made into a cleanroom to increase product yield and reliability, and various environmental factors have been managed to maintain the environment. Among them, airborne particle is a representative management item enough to be the standard for actual cleanroom grade, and a sequential particle monitoring system is usually used as one parts of the FMS (Fab or Facility monitoring system). However, this method has a problem in that the measurement efficiency decreases as the length of the sampling tube increases. In this study, in order to solve this problem, a multiple regression model was created. This model can correct the measurement error due to the decrease in efficiency by sampling tube length.

Too Costly to Convince: how do startups deliver radical innovation via partnership?

  • Despite the importance of partnership for commercialization of innovations in startups, it is not easy for startups to persuade an established firm to collaborate on a completely novel idea. If information transfer about the innovations is too costly, startups may avoid pursuing radically new projects. Our paper examines the impact of policy signals on the novelty of the innovations pursued by startups. In the context of the Orphan Drug Act(ODA), we find that startups develop more radical therapies when policy signals help them to convince potential partners of the value of prospective therapies. While the likelihood of partnership increases, the timing of partnership is delayed in ODA-affected fields.

고령친화용품산업의 현황과 특성: 기업 유형별 탐색을 통한 산업 및 공간 정책에의 시사점 (Characteristics of Firms Related to the Products for the Elderly: Sectoral and Spatial Policy Implications with the Exploration of the Types of Firms)

  • 본 연구에서는 인구고령화에 따라 관심이 높아진 고령친화산업의 현황과 특성을 살펴보기 위해, 고령친화용품산업체를 대상으로 품목별 분류와 입지 특성, 기업 유형 등을 분석하였다. 특허수를 이용한 혁신수행력과 고령친화산업 관련 네트워크참여도를 기준으로 $3\times3$행렬의 9가지로 업체들을 분류하였고, 이에 덧붙어 다른 기관과의 협력, 제조 및 유통 여부 등에 따라 최종적으로 5가지 유형으로 정리하였다. 5가지 유형은 혁신수행력이 높고 네트워크참여도도 높은 유형(HPHC), 중 저기술 제조업체로 네트워크 리더의 역할을 하는 유형(NL-LTM), 유통업체로 네트워크 리더의 역할을 하는 유형(NL-D), 혁신수행력은 높지만 네트워크참여도가 낮은 유형(HP-NO), 혁신수행력이 낮고 네트워크참여도도 낮은 유형(LPI)이다. 이러한 분석결과를 바탕으로 고령친화산업을 발전시키기 위한 산업 및 공간 정책에의 시사점을 제시하였다.

스마트홈 제조업과 서비스업의 국민경제적 파급효과 분석 (An Analysis about Impact of Smart Home manufacturing and service Industry on National Economy)

  • 본 연구는 4차 산업혁명의 핵심 산업으로 주목받고 있는 스마트홈 관련 산업의 국민경제적 파급효과를 정량적으로 분석하여 그 잠재성을 평가하였다. 이를 위해 선행연구들에 대한 문헌검토(literature review)를 통해 스마트홈 관련 산업을 제조업과 서비스업으로 분류하고 외생화하였다. 그리고 2018년 산업연관표를 이용하여 이들 산업이 유발하는 생산, 부가가치, 고용 및 취업효과와 산업간 연쇄효과를 분석하였다. 분석결과 스마트홈 제조업과 서비스업은 각 산업 영역에서 타 산업에 비해 높은 수준의 부가가치유발효과를 보였으며 스마트홈 산업 내부적으로는 제조업의 서비스업 생산 견인 기능이 상대적으로 더 크게 나타났다. 또한 4차 산업혁명기술을 활용하는 산업답게 기술집약적인 산업과의 연관성이 높을 뿐만 아니라 스마트시티, 스마트카, 핀테크 등을 구현하기 위한 서비스 부문과도 깊이 연관되어 있음을 확인하였다. 한편 스마트홈 제조업은 후방파급효과가 전방파급효과에 비해 상대적으로 높은 최종 수요적 산업인 반면 스마트홈 서비스업은 전방파급효과가 후방파급효과에 비해 상대적으로 높게 나타나 중간재 산업으로서 타 산업으로의 공급 기능이 높은 산업임을 알 수 있었다.
