High Density Salt & Pepper Noise Reduction using Lagrange Interpolation and Iteration Process (Lagrange 보간 및 반복 처리를 이용한 고밀도 Salt & Pepper 잡음 제거)

  • Along with the rapid development in digital times, image media are being used in internet, computer and digital camera. But image deterioration occurs due to various exterior reasons in the procedures of acquisition, processing, transmission and recording of digital image and major reason is noise. Therefore in order to remove salt & pepper noise, this study suggested the algorithm which replaces the noise to original pixel in case of non-noise, and processes the noise with Lagrange interpolation method in case of noise. In case high density noise was added and the noise could not be removed, noise characteristics were improved by processing the noises repeatedly. And for objective judgment, this method was compared with existing methods and PSNR(peak signal to noise ratio) was used as judgment standard.

  • In order to reconstruct a high resolution image, it is important to reconstruct frames from fields. A number of approaches have been developed in making frames. In this paper, we propose a new deinterlacing algorithm based on local motion compensation, which is performed based on statistical property. The proposed algorithm achieves faster processing speed than block matching algorithm and higher resolution than inter-field interpolation. The effectiveness of the proposed algorithm is demonstrated experimentally.

  • For the analysis of Kirchhoff plate bending problems, a new meshless method is implemented. For the satisfaction of the C¹ continuity condition in which the first derivative is treated as another primary variable, Hermite interpolation is enforced on standard reproducing kernel particle method. In order to impose essential boundary conditions on solving C¹ continuity problems, shape function modifications are adopted. Through numerical tests, the characteristics and accuracy of the HRKPM are investigated and compared with the finite element analysis. By this implementation, it is shown that high accuracy is achieved by using HRKPM fur solving Kirchhoff plate bending problems.

  • In this paper, attempts have been made to control AC synchronous servo motor used as actuators of joints of the FARA robot with high dynamic performance and precise positioning. The AC synchronous servo motors used in FARA robots have resolves as position sensors. Resolver to digital converters are used in order to obtain the information of rotor speed and position from resolver outputs. The proposed joint position control system consists of four speed controller and one position controller. Analog methods are used in the position controller, while digital methods are used in the position controller. For precise position control, PID control algorithm and interpolation functions are executed in two 16 bit microprocessors with sampling rate 2ms. Experimental results show that the proposed joint position control system can be effectively applied to industrial robots in order to obtain high dynamic performance and precise positioning. The proposed joint position control system is being used in the control of FARA robots of Samsung Electronics.

  • In this paper, we propose a new color interpolation method based on trilateral filter approach, which not only preserve the high-frequency components(image edge) while interpolating the missing raw data of color image(bayer data pattern), but also immune to the image noise components and better preserve the detail of the low-frequency components. The method is the trilateral filter approach applying a gradient to the low frequency components of the image signal in order to preserve the high-frequency components and the detail of the low-frequency components through the measure of the freedom of similarity among adjacent pixels. And also we perform Gaussian smoothing to the interpolated image data in order to robust to the noise. In this paper, we compare the conventional demosaicing algorithm and the proposed algorithm using 10 test images in terms of hue MAD, saturation MAD and CPSNR for the objective evaluation, and verify the performance of the proposed algorithm.

  • A two-phase (gas and liquid) flow analysis solver, named CUPID, has been developed for a realistic simulation of transient two-phase flows in light water nuclear reactor components. In the CUPID solver, a two-fluid three-field model is adopted and the governing equations are solved on unstructured grids for flow analyses in complicated geometries. For the numerical solution scheme, the semi-implicit method of the RELAP5 code, which has been proved to be very stable and accurate for most practical applications of nuclear thermal hydraulics, was used with some modifications for an application to unstructured non-staggered grids. This paper is concerned with the effects of interpolation schemes on the simulation of two-phase flows. In order to stabilize a numerical solution and assure a high numerical accuracy, the second-order upwind scheme is implemented into the CUPID code in the present paper. Some numerical tests have been performed with the implemented scheme and the comparison results between the second-order and first-order upwind schemes are introduced in the present paper. The comparison results among the two interpolation schemes and either the exact solutions or the mesh convergence studies showed the reduced numerical diffusion with the second order scheme.

  • In this paper, an 1.8V 8-bit 500MSPS CMOS A/D Converter is proposed. In order to obtain the resolution of 8bits and high-speed operation, a Cascaded-Folding Cascaded-Interpolation type architecture is chosen. For the purpose of improving SNR, Cascaded-folding Cascaded-interpolation technique, distributed track and hold are included [1]. A novel folding circuit, a novel Digital Encoder, a circuit to reduce the Reference Fluctuation are proposed. The chip has been fabricated with a $0.18{\mu}m$ 1-poly 5-metal n-well CMOS technology. The effective chip area is $1050{\mu}m{\times}820{\mu}m$ and it dissipates about 146mW at 1.8V power supply. The INL and DNL are within ${\pm}1LSB$, respectively. The SNDR is about 43.72dB at 500MHz sampling frequency.

High speed machining using a NURBS interpolator (NURBS 보간을 이용한 고속 가공)

  • Finish machining of a curved surface is often carried out by an NC system with curved interpolation in a high speed machining strategies. This study aims to develop the NURBS interpolator for the PC-NC based machine tools. In the case of a finish cut using a ball-end mill in high speed machining, low machinability at the bottom of a tool produces a harmful effect on surface roughness. The developed interpolator considers the relation between inclined angle, surface roughness, and feed rate, and adjusts real-time feed rate in order to generate surfaces which have isotropic surface roughness. The proposed interpolator is fully implemented and an experimental results are shown.

  • The Radial Point Interpolation Method (RPIM) has been proposed to overcome the difficulties associated with the use of the Radial Basis Functions (RBFs). The RPIM has the following properties: Simple implementation in terms of boundary conditions as in the Finite Element Method (FEM). A less expensive CPU time compared to other collocation meshless methods such as the Moving Least Square (MLS) collocation method. In this work, we propose an adaptive high-order numerical algorithm based on RPIM to simulate the thermoviscoplastic behavior of a material mixing observed in the Friction Stir Welding (FSW) process. The proposed adaptive meshfree RPIM algorithm adapts well to the geometric and physical data by choosing a good shape parameter with a good precision. Our numerical approach combines the RPIM and the Asymptotic Numerical Method (ANM). A numerical procedure is also proposed in this work to automatically determine an improved shape parameter for the RBFs. The efficiency of the proposed algorithm is analyzed in comparison with an iterative algorithm.

Stabilization of a High-Speed and Intelligent CNC System (고속 지능형 CNC 시스템의 안정화)

  • A high-speed and intelligent CNC system has been developed by Turbotek Co., Ltd. This paper presents the study for commercialization of the developed CNC system. In order to acquire stability and reliability of the developed CNC system, its hardwares and softwares ate improved. The CNC main unit is revised to a compact box-type CNC controller. Moreover, the integrated CNC main unit that has built-in and expandable I/O modules is also developed. Remote monitoring, fault diagnosis End NURBS interpolation functions are realized on the CNC system as software modules. Through these efforts, the developed CNC system can be loaded on machine tools successfully.
