  • Three reinforced concrete shear wall and infilled shear wall using retrofitting system were constructed and tested under both vertical and cyclic loadings, Experimental programs were carried out to evaluate and improve the seismic performance of such test specimens, such as the hysteretic behavior, the maximum horizontal strength, crack propagation, and ductility etc. under load reversals. All the specimens were modeled in one-third scale size. For specimens(RWAHC, RWXHC) designed by the improving of seismic performance using the high ductile fiber composite mortar, anchoring, and advanced detailing system for the reinforced concrete shear wall load-carrying capacities were increased $1.1{\sim}1.22$ times in comparison with the standard specimen(SRW).

광물성 혼화재료를 혼입한 고성능 모르타르의 염해 및 화학저항성 평가 (Evaluation of Chloride and Chemical Resistance of High Performance Mortar Mixed with Mineral Admixture)

  • 외부환경에 노출된 콘크리트 구조물은 사용기간 동안 시간의 경과함에 따라 여러 가지 환경적, 화학적, 물리적 요인들이 콘크리트 내부로 서서히 침투 및 확산되면서 콘크리트 초기의 우수한 내구성능을 저하시켜, 열화발생으로 인한 성능저하의 규명과 유지관리에 대한 중요성이 크게 부각되고 있다. 특히, 해안에 근접한 콘크리트 구조물이 동결융해 작용을 받는 경우, 동결융해의 과정에서 콘크리트 조직이 팽창 수축을 반복하면서 콘크리트의 조직이 이완되고 이때, 해수에 존재하는 염화물이온이 콘크리트 내부에 침입하게 되면, 콘크리트 구조물의 철근부식으로 인한 열화를 가속화시키기 때문에 내륙 콘크리트 건축물에 비해 내구성능의 저하가 급속히 진행됨으로 특별한 주의가 필요하다. 본 연구에서는 해수에 접한 콘크리트 구조물의 내구성 확보를 위해 광물성 혼화재료를 혼입한 코팅용 고성능 모르타르의 개발을 목적으로 하고 있으며, 모르타르의 강도 및 내구 특성에 대한 실험적 연구가 진행 되었다. 모르타르에 광물성 혼화재료인 실리카퓸, 메타카올린, 초고분말 플라이애시를 혼입하였다. 혼입률은 실리카퓸과 메타카올린은 각각 3, 7, 10%로 혼입하였으며, 초고분말 플라이애시는 5, 10, 15, 20%로 혼입하여 실험을 진행하였다. 혼화재료 혼입을 통해 제작된 모르타르 시험편을 재령 1일과 28일에 정적 강도시험을 진행하였으며, 재령 28일에 염소이온 침투저항성 시험, 황산 저항성 시험, 염해 저항성 시험 등의 열화 촉진실험을 실시하여 내구 특성을 분석하였다. 촉진 염화물이온 확산 침투 시험 결과를 이용해 국내 콘크리트학회에서 제안하는 방법과 미국, 유럽의 방법으로 내구수명을 평가해 보았다. 메타카올린 혼입 시 모든 규정에서 우수한 내구 수명으로 평가 되었으며, 메타카올린 10%혼입 시 KCI를 기준으로 약 470년의 내구수명이 예측되었다.

GFRP 표면매립공법으로 보강된 RC보의 고온노출 후 휨 성능 (Flexural Performance of RC Beams Strengthened with NSM-GFRP Exposed to High Temperature)

  • This study evaluated the fire resisting capacity and post-fire serviceability of the concrete beams retrofitted by near surface mounted method(NSM) using GFRP plates. Main parameters in the test are grout materials and fire exposure. For the test, two types of grout materials between concrete substrate and GFRP plate were used; flame resisting epoxy and filling mortar. Four RC beam specimens were made and two of them were exposed to fire according to real scale fire curve proposed KS F 2257. After the fire exposure test, flexural test were performed to investigate the flexural performance of concrete beams including strength and deformation. From the test results, it was found that the beam retrofitted by NSM-GFRP presented higher flexural strength than that of the beam without retrofit, which indicates NSM-GFRP retrofit technologies is effective to maintain flexural strength even after fire exposure. In addition, the specimens grouted by epoxy showed good performance in strength but bad performance in ductility.

콘크리트용 고성능 수축저감제 개발에 대한 기초적 특성 (Fundamental Properties on the Development of High Performance Shrinkage Reducing Agent for Concrete)

  • 최근 콘크리트 구조물의 내구성 저하에 따른 성능저하로 유지 보수나 보강등에 상당한 비용이 증가함에 따라 콘크리트의 고유 특성인 균열 저감에 대한 연구가 필요한 실정이다. 특히 장기간 운영에 따른 지하 전력구의 노후화로 유지 보수에 어려움이 상존함에 따라 전력구 설계단계에서 균열을 획기적으로 저감할 수 있는 저수축 콘크리트용 수축저감제 기술 개발이 필요하다. 본 연구는 콘크리트 구조물의 내구성 저하에 따른 균열을 방지하고자 균열을 획기적으로 저감할 수 있는 저수축 콘크리트를 개발하기 위한 것으로 수축저감 물질을 선정하고 모르타르 및 콘크리트 특성을 검토한 결과 클리콜계의 경우 압축강도 특성 및 건조수축 길이변화 실험결과에서 우수한 것으로 나타나 수축저감제로서의 가능성을 확인하였다. 추후 수축저감제의 범용적인 적용성 검토를 위하여 수축저감제의 사용량 및 사용재료 변화 등에 대한 다양한 재료변수 요인 검토를 통하여 수축저감제의 성능 검토가 필요할 것으로 사료된다.

일반 모르타르를 이용한 분절 복합체의 정하중 및 충격하중 실험 (Behavior of Segmented Composites Using General Mortar under Static and Impact Loading)

  • 조개껍질과 같이 얇은 요소들이 생체적인 접착제에 의해서 겹겹이 쌓여 층 구조를 이루는 패각은 정적하중 및 충격하중에 대하여 뛰어난 저항 성능을 보이는 것으로 알려져 있다. 이러한 다양한 층 구조의 복합재료는 두 개의 서로 다른 매질이 적층되면서 단일 재질의 경우보다 충격, 완화 효율이 극대화될 것이라 판단된다. 본 연구에서는 충격을 견디고 최소화시키기 위한 분절 복합체(Segmented Composites)로써 층 구조의 형태를 가지는 복합 재료를 개발하기 위해 일반 모르타르와 일반 콘크리트 블록을 이용한 보 형태의 분절 복합체 부재를 제작하여 정적하중 및 충격하중 실험을 실시하였다. 그리고 분절 복합체의 성능 및 파괴형태를 콘크리트 블록과 같은 강도로 제작된 콘크리트 보 부재와 비교하였다.

조선시대 조적용 석회의 소성 성능과 모르타르의 물성에 대한 실험 연구 (An Experimental Study on the Firing Performance and Property of Lime Mortar for Building in Joseon Dynasty)

  • This study was to investigate the firing method of limestone in Joseon Dynasty, and analyze the physical chemical properties of lime mortars in Joseon Dynasty. This study was to manufacture and evaluate the firing experiment and mortar of Limestone by each sort in order to reproduce the traditional lime mortars in Joseon Dynasty, and investigate the behavior to improve physical properties according to the firing method of Limestone. This study has found out that there were screening criteria and standard of appropriate firing temperature about the Limestone in Joseon Dynasty. Accordingly, this study was to improve its strength through various additives and mixture. In particular, in case of Limestone, the black and blue Limestone were preferred, and most of domestic Limestones were low grade Limestone including the clay and took ivory white or blue with low whiteness. This study has shown that the low grade Limestone was mined by the surface mining compared with the high grade Limestone as underground mining method, and could be used because it was easy to mine relatively and there was possibility that Natural Hydraulic Lime(NHL) was used with the traditional lime mortars in Joseon Dynasty.

Prediction of expansion of electric arc furnace oxidizing slag mortar using MNLR and BPN

  • The present study established prediction models based on multiple nonlinear regressions (MNLRs) and backpropagation neural networks (BPNs) for the expansion of cement mortar caused by oxidization slag that was used as a replacement of the aggregate. The data used for the models were obtained from actual laboratory tests on specimens that were produced with water/cement ratios of 0.485 or 1.5, within which 0%, 10%, 20%, 30%, 40%, or 50% of the cement had been replaced by oxidization slag from electric-arc furnaces; the samples underwent high-temperature curing at either $80^{\circ}C$ or $100^{\circ}C$ for 1-4 days. The varied mixing ratios, curing conditions, and water/cement ratios were all used as input parameters for the expansion prediction models, which were subsequently evaluated based on their performance levels. Models of both the MNLR and BPN groups exhibited $R^2$ values greater than 0.8, indicating the effectiveness of both models. However, the BPN models were found to be the most accurate models.

Physical and Chemical Properties of Nano-slag Mixed Mortar

  • As buildings have become higher and larger, the use of high performance concrete has increased. With this increase, interest in and use of ultra fine powder admixture is also on the rise. The silica fume and BSF are the admixtures currently being used in Korea. However, silica fume is exclusively import dependent because it is not produced in Korea. In the case of BFS, it greatly improves concrete fluidity and long-term strength. But a problem exists in securing early strength. Furthermore, air-cooled slag is being discarded, buried in landfills, or used as road bed materials because of its low activation energy. Therefore, we investigated in this study the usability of nano-slag (both rapidly-chilled and air-cooled) as an alternative material to the silica fume. We conducted a physic-chemical analysis for the nano-slag powder and performed a mortar test to propose quality standards. The analysis and testing were done to find out the industrial usefulness of the BFS that has been grinded to the nano-level.

Development of fine grained concretes for textile reinforced cementitious composites

  • A new innovative composite material is textile reinforced cementitious composite (TRCC). To achieve high flexural performance researchers suggest polymer modification of TRCC matrices. In this study, nine ready mix repair mortars commonly used in construction industry and the production of TRCC elements were examined. Mechanical properties such as compressive and flexural strength, drying shrinkage were studied. Being a significant durability concern, alkali silica reaction tests were performed according to related standards. Results showed that, some ready repair mortar mixes are potentially reactive due to the alkali silica reaction. Two of the ready mortar mixes labelled as non-shrinkage in their technical data sheets showed the highest shrinkage. In this experiment, researchers designed new matrices. These matrices were fine grained concretes modified with polymer additives; latexes and redispersible powders. Two latexes and six redispersible powder polymers were used in the study. Mechanical properties of fine grained concretes such as compressive and flexural strengths were determined. Results showed that some of the fine grained concretes cast with redispersible powders had higher flexural strength than ready mix repair mortars at 28 days. Matrix composition has to be designed for a suitable consistency for planned production processes of TRCC and mechanical properties for load-carrying capacity.

고성능 흄관 라이닝 재료 개발 (Development of High-Performance Lining Material for Fume Pipe)

  • Effects of the polymer-binder ratio and slag content on the properties of combined wet/dry-cured polymer-modified mortars using granulated blast-furnace slag are examined. Results shows that the flexural, compressive, tensile and adhesion in tension strengths of polymer-modified mortar using the slag tend to increase with increasing slag content, and is inclined to increase with increasing polymer-binder ratio. In particular, the polymer-modified mortars with slag content of 40% provide about 20% higher tensile strength than unmodified mortars. Such high strength development is attributed to the high tensile strength of polymer and the improved bond between cement hydrates and aggregates because of the addition of polymer.
