다기능 복합관절 연속수동운동 의료기기 설계 (Design of Multifunctional Compound Joint Medical Equipment for Continuous Passive Motion)

  • The number of joint disease patients is increasing every year. Currently, the most CPM(Continuous Passive Motion) equipment uses expensive imported equipment, and one CPM equipment is designed to be used only in one joint, medical personnel or hospitals who are the main users of the medical equipment need to have several types of CPMs for joint rehabilitation. To solve this problem, this paper designed a multifunctional joint medical equipment that enables rehabilitation of knee, shoulder, and elbow joints in one CPM equipment and includes general, intensive, and adaptive exercise functions for effective treatment according to the patient's condition. The patient's condition was diagnosed using a load cell and a current sensor. In this paper, effective rehabilitation methods were presented and high reliability and precision of medical equipment was confirmed through experiments using potentiometer, encoder, and PI controller.

국내 바이오산업의 지역별 분포특성과 혁신 활동 성과에 관한 연구: 수도권과 비수도권 지역을 중심으로 (A Study on the Regional Distribution Characteristics and Innovation Activity Performance of Bio-Industry in Korea: Focusing on Metropolitan and Non-metropolitan Areas)

  • The study empirically analyzed the differences in industry distribution and innovation activity performance in the metropolitan and non-metropolitan areas of Korea's bio companies, which are highlighted as future growth engines. The main innovation activities of the bio industry, which are focused on science and technology and expressed with high uncertainty, were analyzed, centering on human resources, technology cooperation, and investment promotion. As a result of the analysis, the biomedical industry in the metropolitan area was found to have a high proportion, and bio foods, bio-based chemicals, and energy industries in the non-metropolitan area, respectively. Moreover, the innovation activity performances differed between the two regions. In particular, the notable characteristics included human resources, investment promotion, and technical cooperation with medical institutions in the metropolitan area with a high proportion of biomedical industries, and technology personnel exchange and cooperation with private research institutions in the non-metropolitan area, which has a high proportion of bio foods, bio-based chemicals, and energy industries. This study is significant in that it is the first study to compare and analyze the performance of innovative activities based on the distribution of industries in the bio-industry, focusing on human resources, technology cooperation, and investment promotion. In addition, after investigating the distribution status and competitiveness of the domestic bio-industry by region, it will analyze the status and characteristics of the domestic bio-industry and present policy implications to implement relevant promotion policy more efficiently.

과학기술계 출연연구기관 기관평가지표의 BSC 관점 분석 (Balanced Scorecard Perspective Analysis of Institutional Performance Evaluation for Government S&T Research Institutes)

  • This research examines the relationship between the characteristics of Government S&T Research Institutes (GRI) and their institutional performance evaluation system. First, based on Kaplan & Norton (1992) Balanced Scorecard Model, six perspectives suitable to Korean GRI are derived. Second, personnel who works on evaluation job classified current performance measures into the six perspectives. Analyzing comparative weights of individual perspectives, the characteristics of performance evaluation systems among institutes are derived and compared with their missions. The results are as follows: First, GRI evaluation systems put most weight on the customer perspective and least weight on the financial perspective. This result complies with Korean GRI's missions and strategies as well as findings of foreign cases. Second, Basic-technology GRI group relatively more priotizes long-term customer perspective, while Applied-technology GRI Group relatively more priotizes short-term customer perspective. Public-technology GRI Group is located in the middle in terms of priority of customer perspectives. Third, for three yews (2000-2002), performance measure weights of Basic-technology Group are changed much less than those of the other two groups. Further research are needed for reasons of drastic changes for Applied-technology and Public-technology groups and some abnormally high and low measure weights.

119구급대의 병원 전 응급처치 실태 및 교육 현황 분석 (A Research on the Actual Condition of the Prehospital Emergency Care and Education in 119 Emergency Medical Services)

  • 이 연구는 119구급대의 병원 전 응급처치 실태와 교육현황을 파악하기 위해 2010년 5월 1일부터 8월 31일까지 구급대원 299명을 대상으로 하였으며, 수집된 자료는 SPSS 12.0 program으로 분석하였다. 119구급대원들의 전공분야는 응급구조학이 124명(41.5%)으로 가장 많았고, 소방관련학이 46명(15.4%), 간호학이 30명(10.0%), 보건관련학이 3명(1.0%), 기타가 96명(32.1%)이었다. 119구급대원들이 소지한 자격증으로는 1급 응급구조사가 114명(38.1%), 2급 응급구조사가 101명(33.8%), 소방 교육이수자가 42명(14.0%), 간호사가 28명(9.4%), 기타 14명(4.7%)순으로 나타났다. 시행한 응급처치 빈도로는 산소흡입(274건), 사지 고정(229건), 척추고정(229건), 외부출혈의 지혈(223건), 약물투여(7건), 정맥로 확보(4건)순으로 나타났다. 병원 전 응급처치 능력 향상을 위해서는 잘 훈련된 전문 인력의 구급차 탑승이 반드시 필요하고, 이를 위하여 응급구조사의 지속적인 충원이 이루어져야 하며, 실무중심의 교육훈련 프로그램 운영이 필요하다.

Enhancing Construction Safety through Wearable Technology - A Study of Employee Acceptance and Adoption in the USACE

  • In the dynamic construction industry, particularly within the United States Army Corps of Engineers (USACE), ensuring worker safety in high-risk environments is a critical challenge. This study explores the integration of wearable technology in construction safety, focusing on its potential to enhance personal protective equipment (PPE). The primary goal of this study is to understand the factors influencing USACE employees' acceptance and adoption of wearable technology. Additionally, the research aims to assess the experiences of employees who have already used such technology to identify its practical benefits and levels of user satisfaction. A mixed-method approach was employed to gather qualitative insights from interviews with USACE safety experts and quantitative data from an online survey of USACE personnel. The findings indicate a general reluctance among workers to adopt wearable technology for monitoring work activities, mainly due to privacy concerns, usability issues, and perceived additional workload. However, there is interest in technologies that provide direct safety benefits, such as hazard alerts. This study illuminates the gap between the potential benefits of wearable technology and its current level of acceptance in the construction industry. It identifies the need for strategies to enhance worker acceptance and offers recommendations for future research.

소부대급 USN 기반 전장감시체계 적용 방안 (The Study Application of Identification Based on Small Units USN(Ubiquitous Sensor Network))

  • Although some large units, upper than division, have a identification system, most of them depend on US military. Especially, the company unit can not but execute GOP(General OutPost) guidance and battles inefficiently because they apply the method of conventional identification system. urrently, North Korea causes the high tension of peninsular by experimenting nuclear weapons and launching ICBM(Intercontinental Ballistic Missile). In addition, ROK military will reduce the number of personnel and division through reorganizing the structure into NCW (Network Centric Warfare) until 2020. These unstable situation and future tendency require the high technical identification system based on USN(Ubiquitous Sensor Network) in company unit level. his study suggests the method that the company unit apply the identification system based on USN which distinguish between friend and foe in the warfare. The identification system concludes the results through experiment of military analysis model (AWAM; Army Weapon effectiveness Analysis Model). After analyzing the experiment results, it indicates the budget requirement and operational operability of identification system. This will be able to improves battle efficiency and to prevent damages of friendly forces.

SHIELDED LASER ABLATION ICP-MS SYSTEM FOR THE CHARACTERIZATION OF HIGH BURNUP FUEL

  • In modem power reactors, nuclear fuels have recently reached 55,000 MWd/MtU from the initial average burnup of 35,000 MWd/MtU to reduce the fuel cycle cost and waste volume. At such high burnups, a fuel pellet produces fission products proportional to the burnup and creates a typical high burnup structure around the periphery region of the pellet, producing the so called 'rim effect'. This rim region of a highly burnt fuel is known to be ca. $200\;{\mu}m$ in width and is known to affect the fuel integrity. To characterize the local burnup in the rim region, solid sampling in the micro meter region by laser ablation is needed so that the distribution of isotopes can be determined by ICP-MS. For this procedure, special radiation shielding is required for personnel safety. In this study, we installed a radiation shielded laser ablation ICP-MS system, and a performance test of the developed system was conducted to evaluate the safe operation of instruments.

A state of review on manufacturing and effectiveness of ultra-high-performance fiber reinforced concrete for long-term integrity of concrete structures

  • Ultra-high-performance fiber-reinforced concrete (UHPFRC) is a form of cement-based material that has a compressive strength above 150 MPa, excellent ductility, and superior durability. This composite material demonstrates innovation and has the potential to serve as a viable substitute for concrete constructions that are subjected to harsh environmental conditions. Over many decades, extensive research and progressive efforts have introduced several commercial UHPFRC compositions globally. These compositions have been specifically designed to cater to an increasing variety of applications and meet the rising need for building materials of superior quality. However, the effective manufacturing of UHPFRC relies on the composition of its materials, especially the inclusion of fiber content and the proportions in the mixture, resulting in a more compact and comparatively uniform packing of particles. UHPFRC has notable benefits in comparison to conventional concrete, yet its use is constrained by the dearth of design codes and the prohibitive expenses associated with its implementation. The study demonstrates that UHPFRC presents a viable, long-lasting option for improving sustainable construction. This is attributed to its outstanding strength properties and superior durability in resisting water and chloride ion permeability, freeze-thaw cycles, and carbonation. The analysis found that a rheology-based mixture design technique may be employed in the production of UHPFRC to provide enough flowability. The study also revealed that the use of deformed steel fibers has shown enhanced mechanical qualities in comparison to straight steel fibers. However, obstacles such as higher initial costs, the requirement for highly specialized personnel, and the absence of comprehensive literature on global UHPFRC standards that establish minimum strength criteria and testing requirements can hinder the widespread implication of UHPFRC. Finally, this review attempts to deepen our foundational conception of UHPFRC, encourages additional study and applications, and recommends an in-depth investigation of the mechanical and durability properties of UHPFRC to maximize its practicality.

지역사회 공공보건자원과 지역사회 정신건강의 관계에서 공공보건서비스 이용률의 조절효과 (Moderating Effects of Public Health Service Utilization Rate between Public Health Resources and Community Mental Health)

  • 본 연구는 공공보건자원이 지역사회의 정신건강수준에 영향을 미치는 과정에서 공공보건서비스 이용률이 조절 역할을 하는 지를 확인하고자 수행되었다. 연구대상은 144개의 지역사회이며, 자료는 제6기 지역보건의료계획과 2015년 지역사회 건강조사에서 확보하였다. 연구변수 중 공공보건자원은 공공보건예산, 공공정신보건예산 및 공공정신보건인력으로 구성하였으며, 정신건강수준은 스트레스 인지율, 우울감 경험률 및 자살률로 하였다. 조절효과 분석에 사용된 방법은 위계적 회귀분석이었다. 연구결과는 첫째, 공공보건서비스 이용률은 공공정신보건예산이 우울감 경험률에 영향을 미치는 과정에서 조절변수로 작용하고 있었다. 둘째, 공공정신보건인력이 우울감 경험률에 영향을 미치는 과정에서 공공보건서비스 이용률은 조절효과를 나타냈다. 셋째, 공공정신보건인력이 자살률에 영향을 미치는 과정에서도 공공보건서비스 이용률은 조절효과를 나타냈다. 넷째, 공공보건자원의 정신건강수준에 대한 영향이 공공보건서비스 이용률이 높은 집단과 낮은 집단에 따라 다르게 나타났다. 결론적으로 공공보건자원 강화가 지역사회 정신건강수준의 향상으로 이어지도록 하기 위해 지역사회 정신건강증진 방안에 공공보건서비스 이용률 개선을 위한 내용을 포함시킬 필요가 있을 것이다.

고폭탄 탄약시험 간 이동형 강재 방호벽의 안전성능 판단 및 유효 방호력 평가 방법 (Method for evaluating the safety performance and protection ability of the mobile steel protective wall during the high-explosive ammunition test)

  • 본 연구에서는 고폭탄과 같은 고위험 탄약에 대한 신뢰성 시험을 수행하는 기관에서 갖추어야 할 방호벽에 대해 유효 방호력을 평가하였다. 고폭탄이 인원에게 줄 수 있는 영향은 폭발압력에 의한 고막, 폐의 손상 등과 폭발과 동시에 발생한 파편에 의해 받을 수 있는 관통상이 있다. 따라서 COMP B가 충전되어있는 고폭탄을 기준으로, 피해 정도를 산정하기 위한 폭발방호 이론과 수치적 계산과 시뮬레이션을 통한 방호력 검증을 수행하였다. 수치적 계산 결과 시나리오로 설정된 방호벽과 폭발원점의 거리(7 m)에서 고폭탄 폭발 시 방호벽에 미치는 최대 폭발압력은 77.74 kPa이었으며, 50 mm 두께의 방호벽에 대한 파편의 관통력은 41.34 mm로 계산되었다. AUTODYN을 활용한 시뮬레이션 검증에서는 방호벽과 인원에게 영향을 주는 최대 폭발압력은 각각 58.68 kPa과 18.175 kPa이었으며, 파편의 관통력은 35.56 mm였다. 이 수치는 인간의 피해 한계보다 낮은 수치로 방호벽의 방호력은 유효할 것으로 판단되었다.
