  • Auxiliary power supply developed by domestic technology has very important function that not only effect on main power converter & inverter system, traction motor and train control system which are related to performance of train, but also influence on power supply for HVAC(Heat, Ventilation, Air-conditioning) and lighting device which are related to comfort of passengers. This paper shows characteristic test results of auxiliary power supply such as working condition and performance, which is associated with velocity of train, operating mode and surrounding equipment, through test running. And, it propose a modification of design parameter for stabilizing operation and improving reliability.

  • The Optimization has been performed to search an economical running pattern in the view point of trip time and energy consumption. Fuzzy control model have been applied to build the meta-model. To identify the structure and its parameters of a fuzzy model, fuzzy c-means clustering method and differential evolutionary scheme are utilized, respectively. As a result, two meta-models for trip time and energy consumption were constructed. The optimization to search an economical running pattern was achieved by differential evolutionary scheme. The result shows that the proposed methodology is very efficient and conveniently applicable to the operation of railway system.

  • According to the operation data between $2007{\sim}2008$(January$\sim$June) for essential safety equipment including ATC, there were nothing special but stable and steady. And also emergency stop number of count are decreasing. But the frequency are still above the resonable count and it means driving condition should be improved through interface between ground and locomotive same as come to an understanding with driver. The number of count of emergency stop for VACMA(vigilance system) are also decreasing but also the frequency are above resonable count. This phenomenon caused by careless driving for the driver or the system malfunction. So the continuous monitoring for the data is necessary.

  • 철도차량의 고속화, 경량화와 함께 승객의 안전성을 보다 더 높이기 위한 많은 연구가 진행 되고 있다. 철도차량의 안전성을 높이기 위해서는 주행성능을 안정시키는 것이 무엇보다 중요하며, 드라이빙기어 내부의 윤활유량을 최적화하는 것은 주행성능 확보에 필수적이다. 본 연구에서는 전동차용 Driving Gear Unit의 회전 방향에 따라 저속 Gear 치면을 통해 Splash 되는 드라이빙기어 Casing내의 윤활유 유동 변화를 ANASYS CFD 프로그램과 전산유체해석 기법을 사용하여 구현 하였으며, 해석 내역을 토대로 유사 구동 조건에 대한 무부하 실증 시험을 실시하여 해석의 적합성 및 윤활유량 선정과 드라이빙기어의 안전성에 대해 고찰하였다.

고속철도 궤도패드의 최소 수직 스프링계수 결정에 관한 연구 (A Study on Determination of the Minimum Vertical Spring Stiffness of Track Pads in Korea High Speed Railway.)

  • Railway noise and vibration has been recognized as major problems with the speed-up of rolling stock. As a kind of solution to these problems, the decrease of stiffness of track pad have been tried. However, in this case, overturning of rail due to lateral force should be considered because it can have effect on the safety of running train. Therefore, above two things - decrease of stiffness of track pad and overturning of rail due to lateral force - should be considered simultaneously for the appropriate determination of spring coefficient of track pad. With this viewpoint, minimum spring coefficient of track pad is estimated through the comparison between the theoretical relationship about the overturning of rail and 3-dimensional FE analysis result. Two kinds of Lateral force and wheel load are used as input loads. Extracted values from the conventional estimation formula and the Shinkansen design loads are used. It is found that the overturning of rail changes corresponding to the change of the stiffness of track pad and the ratio of lateral force to wheel load. Moreover, it is found that the analysis model can have influence on the results. Through these procedure, minimum spring coefficient of track pad is estimated.

  • A high-speed railway system represents a typical example of large-scale multi-disciplinary system, consisting of subsystems such as rolling-stock, electrical hardware, electronics, control, information, communication, civil technology etc. The system design and acquisition data of the large-scale system must be the subject under strict configuration control and management. Systems engineering technology development project for Korea next generation High-speed Electric Multiple Unit (HEMU) system in progress is a national large system development project that is not only a large-size and complex but also multi-disciplinary in nature. Therefore, all stakeholders must understand and share the functional and performance requirements of HEMU throughout its life-cycle phases. Also in the test and evaluation phase, all systems requirements must be verified. In 2011, the prototype train manufacturing will be completed. It will do test run on the commercial line and all systems requirements are verified until 2012. For the system verification, the test and evaluation process have to be established before the test trial run. Using a systems engineering tool, the system design database(SDD) with requirements traceability and development process management in the course of the development have to be established. This paper represents the test and evaluation process development based on the SEMP(Systems Engineering Management Plan) developed in the design stage. The test and evaluation process is refined and updated in comparison to the design stage one. The test and evaluation process consists of procedure, test and evaluation method and schedule. So through this process, it is defined that each systems requirements is verified on which test and about what time.

소재대체법과 치수최적화 기법을 이용한 2층 고속열차 하이브리드 차체 구조물의 경량 설계 연구 (A Study on Lightweight Design of Double Deck High-Speed Train Hybrid Carbody Using Material Substitution and Size Optimization Method)

  • 본 논문의 목적은 소재대체법과 치수최적화 기법을 이용한 2층 고속열차 알루미늄 압출재 차체의 경량 설계를 제시하는 것이다. 소재대체법을 수행하기 위해 위상최적화 기법을 이용하여 차체 구조물의 샌드위치 복합재 적용 부위를 결정하였다. 해석결과, 루프와 2층 언더프레임에 샌드위치 복합재가 적용 가능함을 보여주었다. 치수최적화는 알루미늄 압출재와 카본/에폭시 복합재의 두께를 결정하는데 사용되었다. 치수최적화를 수행하기 위해, 설계변수, 제약조건, 목적함수를 정식화 하였으며 이러한 조건에 의해 유효설계를 도출하였다. 경량 설계의 결과로 2층 고속열차 하이브리드 차체의 무게를 2.18 ton(17.70%)까지 줄일 수 있음을 보여주었다.

  • The reason of train location detection is generally the train interval control between the railway stations and the train path control in the railway station yard in order to avoid train collision. It is very important to know the train location for shortening the train headway, and improving the efficiency of railway maintenance as well as the safe operation of trains. Therefore, the accurate detection of train location is the prerequisite technology in railway signalling system. The track circuit and the wheel sensor of rolling stock have been used to detect the train location widely in urban railway as well as high speed train. The track circuit is continuously monitored by electrical equipment to detect the absence of the train and the tachometer and encoder is used for the wheel sensor to measure the train speed. But speed sensor failures are frequent due to the extremely harsh operating conditions encountered in rail vehicle. The CBTC(Communication based Train Control) system has been used in urban railway system recently. But the installation of CBTC system is very high and the modification of design is difficult. This paper deals with the feasibility of new train location detection method using magnetic sensors.

현장측정을 통한 분기기 망간 크로싱의 피로수명 평가 (Fatigue Life Evaluation for Railway Turnout Crossing using the Field Test)

  • The major objective of this study is to investigate the fatigue life evaluation of immovability crossing for railway turnout by the field test. In railway engineering, an appliance is necessary to allow a vehicle to move from one track to another. This appliance came to be known technically as turnout. So, turnout is required very complex railway technologies such as rolling stock, track. Due to the plan under the application of high speed train, turnout are needed more stable far fatigue behaviors. It analyzed the mechanical behaviors of turnout crossing with propose its advanced technical type on the field test and fatigue evaluation far the dynamic fatigue characteristics. As a result, the advanced type crossing are obviously effective for the fatigue damage ratio and dynamic response which is non-modified type. The analytical and experimental study are carried out to investigate the passing path of contact surface and fatigue damage trend decrease dynamic stresses and deflections on advanced crossing type, And the advanced type reduce dynamic fatigue damage ratio and increase fatigue life(about each 38%) more than non-modified type. From the field test results of the servicing turnout crossing, it is evaluated that the modification of contact angle, weight, material and sectional properties is very effective fur ensure against fatigue risks.

디스크 질량 변화에 따른 철도차량용 제동디스크의 마찰 특성 (Influence of Disk Mass with regard to Frictional Characteristics of Brake Disk for Rolling Stock)

  • Low alloy heat resistant brake disk and sintered brake pad are applied to mechanical brake system for the speed-up of urban rapid transit. In this research, we analyzed how the frictional characteristics between brake disk and pad are influenced by the disk mass. At a high disk mass, the friction stability was the lower value as a result of the lack of tribofilm formation at the disk surface. Wear rates of friction materials showed the higher value at a low disk mass and wear rates of 10 mm and 15 mm showed the similar level. Average friction coefficient was the lower value at the 10 mm disk thickness and range of variation of average friction coefficient was also the smaller value at the 10 mm disk thickness. However, there were no significant changes in the friction coefficients under any of test conditions. Surface roughness of a disk showed the highest value at the 5 mm disk and surface roughnesses of 10 mm and 15 mm showed the similar level. As a result, friction characteristics of disk mass influenced the friction stability, as well as the wear rate of friction pad and disk, but not the friction coefficient.
