  • KIRAMS-13, the first medical cyclotron developed by domestic technique, is used to produce radio-isotope such as $^{18}F$ whose life time is relatively short through test operation. For high-power operation of charged particle accelerators, the power coupler must withstand enormous stresses due to charging induced by high RF power passing through. High-power RF testing with peak power in excess of 30kW has been performed on prototype power coupler for KIRAMS-13 normal conducting cavities. CST MICROWAVE STUDIO(CST MWS) is used for fundamental RF Design, and power coupler is manufactured according to fundamental power coupler design requisite. The qualification of the couplers has occurred for the time being only in a limited set of conditions as the available RF system and control instrumentation are under improvement.

This paper is directed mainly at electrical engineers working on production and practical application of high speed pulsed power with high voltage and current.

  • It is necessary to improve the time efficiency in the high power testing station because tests are mainly performed by high-priced equipment. Minimizing a human error through building the database of relevant standards is possible to expect reliable tests. And also, application program that is properly customized for the certain laboratory's power system will help test engineer to easily analyze the phenomenon that is happened in short-circuit and load switching tests. This paper introduces the several functions of the application program that is developed in order to realize these requirements.

  • Reactor starting method has the advantage of simplicity and closed transition in spite of lower starting torque per kVA. This method allows a smooth start with almost no observable disturbance on transition and is suitable for applications such as centrifugal pumps or fans. Reactive power doesn't contribute to work but needs to sustain the electromagnetic field required for the induction motor to operate. Starting power factor of induction motor is specially lower than running power factor. Power factor application is needed to compensate for the lower power factor of induction motor. This power factor compensation systems is occasionally being hit by the effects of the starting reactor connection position at the starting, stopping of high-voltage induction motor. This paper describes voltage and current stress affected by the installation position of power factor compensation application at the reactor starting method.

  • Large capacity reactive power compensation and harmonic control in the low-voltage grid of an enterprise, are important technical means to improve power quality and reduce power loss. In this paper, the principle of an efficient power quality controller is analyzed. Then, key application technologies of the HPQC which would influence the performances of the HPQC are studied. Based on an analysis of the harmonic shunt problem, a frequency dividing control strategy of the HPQC continuous subsystem is proposed. A parameter design method of the HPQC discrete subsystem and its installation method are also proposed to ensure the system compensation effect. HPQC systems have been designed for a copper foil plant. The effectiveness of this paper has been verified by the simulation and application results.

  • This paper presents the application of a FARMA controller to stabilization of nonlinear Two-Generator Five-Bus power Systems. The control rules and the membership functions of the FARMA controller are generated automatically without using any plant model high complexity and severe nonlinearity of power systems are introduced and two-Machine Five -Bus Power system stabilization problem is formulated. The simulation results demonstrate the effectiveness and application possibility of the FARMA controller to the control problem of high order and nonlinear plants.

  • Power semiconductors are being currently used as a application of intelligent power inverters to a refrigerator, a washing machine and a vacuum cleaner as well as core parts of industrial system. The rating of semiconductor devices is an important factor in decision on the field of application and the forward blocking voltage is one of factors in decision of the rating. The Power MOS device has a merit of high input impedance, short switching time, and stability in temperature as well known. Power MOS devices are mainly used as switches in the field of power electronics, especially the on-state resistance and breakdown voltage are regarded as the most important parameters. Power MOS devices that enable a small size, a light weight, high-integration and relatively high voltage are required these days. In this paper, we proposed the new lateral power MOS which has forward blocking voltage of 250V and contains trench electrodes and verified manufactural possibility by using TSUPREM-4 that is process simulator.

  • 자기유도형 기반의 무선전력 전송 기술을 이용한 무선충전 기능이 최근 스마트폰 등에 채용되어 주요한 소비자 편의기능으로 자리잡고 있다. 무선전력전송 모듈은 무선전력 전송효율을 개선하고 휴대폰 주요 회로부에 대한 전자기장 간섭을 억제하기 위하여 전자기장 차폐 소재의 사용이 필수적이다. 본 논문에서는 무선전력 전송모듈용 전자기장 차폐 소재의 역할과 기술에 대해 소개하였다. 이와 함께 향후 확산될 중급 전력(mid-power)과 대전력(high-power)영역의 무선전력 전송 응용분야에서 대응 가능한 차폐 소재의 개발 방향을 정리하였다.
