  • This paper presents a novel prototype of the utilityinteractive voltage source type sinewave pulse modulated power inverter using a high-frequency flyback transformer link. The proposed power conditioner circuit for the solar photovoltaic generation and small scale fuel cell has an isolation function due to the safety of the power processing system, which is more cost effective and acceptable for the small-scale distributed renewal energy conditioning and processing systems. The discontinuous current mode(DCM) of this power processing conversion circuit is applied to implement a simple circuit topology and pulse modulated control scheme. Its operation principle is described on the basis of simulation evaluations and theoretical considerations. The simulation results obtained herein prove that the proposed inverter outputs with sinusoidal waveforms and unity power factor currents are synchronized to the main voltage in utility power source grid. In this paper, the soft switching topology of highfrequency linked sinewave pulse modulation inverter is proposed and discussed.

  • The conventional Three-Stage electronic ballast is stable, but Two-Stage electronic ballast has been researching because of efficiency. Three-Stage electronic ballast is consisted of PFC circuit, buck converter, and inverter circuit, but Two-stage is consisted of PFC circuit, Buck-Inverter full bridge circuit. The Buck-Inverter full bridge inverter consists of two half bridge inverters for low frequency switching, and high frequency switching. In the case of street lamp it is far from a lamp to a ballast, the conventional pulsed high voltage ignitor can not turn on the HID lamps because of reduction of ignition voltage. Therefore, it needs to do the research on a resonant ignition to turn on the HID lamps. Therefore, in the Two-Stage electronic ballast which has the resonant tank for ignition, the transient resonant current because of low frequency changing is analyzed, the novel algorithm is proposed to resuce the transient current.

  • A half bridge type double resonant high frequency resonant inverter using PFM is described. This proposed inverter can reduce distribution of the switching current because of using the current of the serial resonant circuit to the input current of the parallel one. In the case of variable capacitance of the DC voltage source separated capacitor the analysis of inverter circuit has generally described by using normalized parameter and operating characteristics has been evaluated in terms of switching frequency and parameters. Based on the characteristics value a method of the circuit design is proposed. The theoretical results are in good agreement with the experimental ones. In the future this proposed circuit is considerated to be useful for induction heating and discharge lamp.

  • This paper deals with novel electronic ballast based on single-stage power processing topology using a symmetrical half-bridge inverter and current injection circuit. The half-bridge inverter drives the output parallel resonant circuit and injects current through the power factor correction (PFC) circuit. Because of high frequency current injection and high frequency modulated voltage, the proposed circuit maintains the unity power factor (UPF) with low THD even under wide variation in ac input voltage. This circuit needs minimum and lower sized components to achieve the UPF and high efficiency. This leads to an increase in reliability of ballast at low cost. Furthermore, to reduce cost, the electronic ballast is designed for two series-connected fluorescent lamps (FL). The analysis and experimental results are presented for ($2{\times}36$ Watt) fluorescent lamps operating at 50 kHz switching frequency and input line voltage (230 V, 50 Hz).

  • This paper presents a Bidirectional High-Frequency Link (BHFL) inverter that utilizes the Deadbeat controller. The main features of this topology are the reduced size of the inverter and fewer power switches. On the secondary side of the transformer, the active rectifier employs only two power switches, thus reducing switching losses. Using this configuration, the inverter is capable of carrying a bidirectional power flow. The inverter is controlled by a Deadbeat controller, which consists of the inner current loop, outer voltage loop and a feedforward controller. Additional disturbance decoupling networks are employed to improve the system's robustness towards load variations. A 1-kVA prototype inverter has been constructed and the Deadbeat control algorithm is experimentally verified. The experimental results show that the inverter has high efficiency (91%) with low steady state output voltage total harmonics distortion (1.5%).

  • A class-D zero voltage switching (called soft-switching) inverter with only one capacitor in parallel with both FET, along with an approximate analysis and experimental results, is introduced. The inverter offers both zero turn-on and zero turn-off switching losses, yielding high efficiency at high frequencies. In addition, soft switching reduces switching noise associated with the high frequency ringing at the swithching instants.
