  • In this paper, we proposed high slew-rate and low-power OP-AMP of the data driver for TFT-LCDs. Proposed OP-AMP contains newly developed rail-to-rail class-AB input circuit which enables the low-quiescent current and high slew-rate OP-AMP. The slew-rate and the quiescent current of the proposed OP-AMP are 31.2V/$\mu$sec and 5$\mu$A, respectively.

  • The closed cycle diesel engine is used in a closed circuit system which has no air breathing. The working fluid as intake mixture are consisted of oxygen, argon and recirculated exhaust gas in order to obtain underwater or underground power sources. In the present study, the high pressure diesel engine which can be operated by the closed cycle system with high intake pressure for increasing the net power rate is designed. It has been carried out to investigate the combustion characteristics of high pressure diesel engine according to the power rate. The maximum cylinder pressure and heat release rate were investigated. Also, major experimental data such as specific fuel consumption rate, oxygen concentrations, fuel conversion efficiency, polytropic exponent, and IMEP were compared with low pressure diesel engine experimental data.

  • 다중 사용자가 존재하는 실내 통신 시스템에서 데이터 고속 전송이 가능하도록 간섭을 최소화 시키는 이중 시역전 전처리 필터를 제안한다. 기존 시역전 필터는 간섭을 완벽히 제거하지 못해서 심볼의 전송 간격이 좁아지게 되는 경우 성능열화가 심각하게 나타나게 된다. 그러나 제안하는 기법은 간섭을 최소화 하는 것을 목표로 하였기 때문에 추가적인 필터 설계를 통해 성능 열화 없이 고속 데이터 전송을 실현하고 송신기가 수신기의 복잡도 부담을 덜어주는 이점이 있다. 실험 결과에서는 데이터 전송률이 높아질수록 제안하는 기법의 성능이 향상되는 것을 볼 수 있다.

  • Data storage related with writing and retrieving requires high storage capacity, fast transfer rate and less access time in. Today any data storage system can not satisfy these conditions, but holographic data storage system can perform faster data transfer rate because it is a page oriented memory system using volume hologram in writing and retrieving data. System architecture without mechanical actuating part is possible, so fast data transfer rate and high storage capacity about $1Tb/cm^3$ can be realized. In this paper, to correct errors of binary data stored in holographic digital data storage system, find cluster centers using subtractive clustering and reduce intensities of pixels around centers, so the intensify profile of data rare will be uniform and the better data storage system can be realized.

Today any data storage system cannot satisfy these conditions, however holographic data storage system can perform faster data transfer rate because it is a page oriented memory system using volume hologram in writing and retrieving data. System can be constructed without mechanical actuating part so fast data transfer rate and high storage capacity about 1Tb/cm3 can be realized. In this research, to correct errors of binary data stored in holographic data storage system, a new method for reduction errors is suggested. First, find cluster centers using subtractive clustering algorithm then reduce intensities of pixels around cluster centers. By using this error reduction method following results are obtained ; the effect of Inter Pixel Interference noise in the holographic data storage system is decreased and the intensity profile of data page becomes uniform therefore the better data storage system can be constructed.

고속 듀오바이너리 송수신단 설계기술 동향 (Recent Trends on High-Speed Duobinary Transceiver Architecture)

  • 본 논문에서는 데이터 전송 속도를 제한하는 채널의 대역폭 문제를 해결하기 위한 방법으로 널리 사용되는 고속 듀오바이너리(duobinary) 송수신단 설계기술 동향을 서술한다. 고속 전송 환경에서는 전송 신호의 주파수가 채널의 대역폭보다 커지게 되어 신호의 손실이 극심해지는 문제가 생긴다. 듀오바이너리 신호는 같은 전송속도를 가지는 Non-Return-to-Zero 신호와 비교했을 때 수식적으로 더 낮은 주파수 대역폭을 가진다. 따라서 고주파 신호일수록 손실정도가 커지는 실제 데이터 채널 환경에서 듀오바이너리 신호기법을 사용함으로써 신호 손실을 효과적으로 줄일 수 있다. 이러한 듀오바이너리 신호기법의 수학적 분석과 더불어 듀오바이너리 신호기법을 고속 송수신단 설계에 적용한 여러 방법들에 대해 탐구한다.

Accuracy Verification of Heart Rate and Energy Consumption Tracking Devices to Develop Forest-Based Customized Health Care Service Programs

  • This study was carried out to verify the accuracy of fitness tracking devices in monitoring heart rate and energy consumption and to contribute to the development of a forest exercise program that can recommend the intensity and amount of forest exercises based on personal health-related data and provide monitoring and feedback on forest exercises. Among several commercially available wearable devices, Fitbit was selected for the research, as it provides Open API and data collected by Fitbit can be utilized by third parties to develop programs. Fitbit provides users with various information collected during forest exercises including exercise time and distance, heart rate, energy consumption, as well as the altitude and slope of forests collected by GPS. However, in order to verify the usability of the heart rate and energy consumption data collected by Fitbit in forest, the accuracy of heart rate and energy consumption were verified by comparing the data collected by Fitbit and reference. In this study, 13 middle-aged women were participated, and it was found that the heart rate measured by Fitbit showed a very low error rate and high correlation with that measured by the reference. The energy consumption measured by Fitbit was not significantly different from that measured in the reference, but the error rate was slightly higher. However, there was high correlation between the results measured by Fibit and the reference, therefore, it can be concluded that Fitbit can be utilized in developing actual forest exercise programs.

  • In optical disk drives (ODD), the demands of high data density and high speed have been increasing rapidly to achieve high data capacity and data transfer rate. The short wavelength laser, High NA objective lens, and high track following performance are needed to raise data density and data rate. For high-performance actuator, the improvement of linearity and acceleration become more important. Also, 3-axis actuator for active tilt compensation is introduced to overcome the decrease in disk tilt tolerance which is induced by short wavelength laser. In this paper, a hybrid type 3-axis actuator is presented and a new yoke structure, which can reduce the interaction between yoke and moving magnet, is designed to keep the efficiency of magnetic circuit. Experimental results show the validity of the yoke in the hybrid type actuator.
