We present a study of hydrogen liquefaction using the CFD (Computational Fluid Dynamics) program. Liquid hydrogen has been evaluated as the best storage method because of high energy per unit mass than gas hydrogen, but efficient hydrogen liquefaction and storage are needed in order to apply actual industrial. In this study, we use the CFD program that apply navier-stokes equation. A hydrogen is cooled by heat transfer with the while passing gas hydrogen through Cu tube. We change diameter and flow rate and observe a change of the temperature and flow rate of gas hydrogen passing through Cu tube. As a result of, less flow rate and larger diameter are confirmed that liquefaction is more well. Ultimately, When we simulate the hydrogen liquefaction by using CFD program, and find optimum results, it is expected to contribute to the more effective and economical aspects such as time and cost.
Gas flow measurement in a closed duct was performed using multi-point Pitot tubes. Measurement uncertainty was assessed for this measurement method. The method was applied for the measurement of air flow into a gas turbine engine in an altitude engine test facility. 46 Pitot tubes, 15 total temperature Kiel probes and 9 static pressure tabs were installed in the engine inlet duct of inner diameter of 264 mm. Five tests were done in an airflow range of 2~10 kg/s. The flow was compressible and the Reynolds numbers were between 450,000 and 2,220,000. The measurement uncertainty was the highest as 6.1% for the lowest flow rate, and lowest as 0.8% for the highest flow rate. This is because the difference between the total and static pressures, which is also related to the flow velocity, becomes almost zero for low flow rate cases. It was found that this measurement method can be used only when the flow velocity is relatively high, e.g., 50 m/s. Static pressure was the most influencing parameter on the flow rate measurement uncertainty. Temperature measurement uncertainty was not very important. Measurement of boundary layer was found to be important for this type of flow rate measurement method. But measurement of flow non-uniformity was not very important provided that the non-uniformity has random behavior in the duct.
The Inseong gold-silver mine is located 3Km northwest of Suanbo, Choongcheongbugdo, Republic of Korea. The mine occurs in the shear zone formed by tension fractures within the Hwanggangri Formation of the Ogcheon metamorphic belt. Ore minerals found in the gold-silver bearing hydrothermal quartz vein composed mainly of pyrite, arsenopyrite, sphalerite, galena and minor amount of chalcopyrite, pyrrhotite, stannite, bismuthininte, native bismuth, chalcocite, electrum and tellurian canfieldite(?). The gangue minerals are quartz, calcite, chlorite and rhodochrocite. Wallrock alterations such as chloritization, silicitication, pyritization, carbonitization and sericitization can be observed in or around the quartz vein. According to the paragenetic sequence, quartz vein structure and mineral assemnlages, three different stages of ore formation can be recognized. The physico-chemical environment of ore formation in this deposit shows slight variation from stage to stage, but the condition of main ore deposition can be summarized as follows. Fluid inclusion, S-istope geothermometry and geothermometry based on mineral chemistry by use of arsenopyrite and chlorite show the ore was formed at temperature between 399 and $210^{\circ}C$ from fluids with salinities of 3.3-5.8 wt.% equivalent NaCl. It indicates that pressure during the mineralization is less than 0.6 Kb corresponding to a depth not greater than 1Km. S-isotope data suggests that thermal fluid may have magmatic origin wit some degree of mixing with meteoric water. In coclusion, the Inseong gold-silver deposit was formed at shallow depth and relatively high-temperature possibly with steep geothermal gradient under xenothermal condition.
The objective of this study was to elucidate the feasibility to improve the solubility and bioavailability of poorly water-soluble itraconazole via solid dispersions by using supercritical fluid (SCF). Solid dispersions of itraconazole with hydrophilic polymer, HPMC 2910, were prepared by the aerosol solvent extraction system (ASES) under different process conditions of temperature/pressure. The particle size of solid dispersions ranged from 100 to 500 nm. The equilibrium solubility increased with decrease (15 to 10 MPa) in pressure and increase (40 to $60^{\circ}C$) in temperature. The solid dispersions prepared at $60^{\circ}C$/15 MPa showed a slight increase in equilibrium solubility (approximately 27-fold increase) when compared to pure itraconazole, while those prepared at $60^{\circ}C$/10MPa showed approximately 610-fold increase and no endothermic peaks corresponding to pure itraconazole were observed, indicating that itraconazole might be molecularly dispersed in HPMC 2910 in the amorphous form. The amorphous state of itraconazole was confirmed by DSC/XRD data. The pharmacokinetic parameters of the ASES-processed solid dispersions, such as $T_{max},\;C_{max},\;and\;AUC_{0-24h}$ were almost similar to $Sporanox_{\circledR}$ capsule which shows high bioavailability. Hence, it was concluded that the ASES process could be a promising technique to reduce particle size and/or prepare amorphous solid dispersion of drugs in order to improve the solubility and bioavailability of poorly water-soluble drugs.
The present study focuses on the effect of staggered integration factor (SIF) on Morton effect simulation results. The Morton effect is a synchronous rotordynamic instability problem caused by the temperature differential across the journal in fluid film bearings. Convection and conduction of heat in the thin film displaces the hot spot, which is the hottest circumferential position in the thin film, from -20 to 40 degrees ahead of the high spot, where the minimum film clearance is experienced. The temperature differential across the journal causes a bending moment and the corresponding thermal bow in the rotating frame acts like a distributed synchronous excitation in the fixed frame. This thermal bow may cause increased vibrations and continued growth of the synchronous orbit into a limit cycle. The SIF is developed assuming that the response of the rotor-lubricant-bearing dynamic system is much quicker than that of the bearing-journal thermal system, and it is defined as the ratio between the simulation time of the thermal system and the rotor-spinning period. The use of the SIF is unavoidable for efficient computing. The value of the SIF is chosen empirically by the software users as a value between 100 and 400. However, the effect of the SIF on Morton effect simulation results has not been investigated. This research produces simulation results with different values of SIF.

Metal emulsions have been studied for several decades as a method of increasing the efficiency of the steelmaking process. This study was performed using a water model, observable at room temperature, to compensate for the disadvantages of the high-temperature experiment, the results of which are difficult to observe visually. As a substitute for metal-in-slag emulsions, experiments were conducted by dropping distilled water into silicone oil and comparing the results with the results of a calculation by momentum balance equations. The descending velocity of the water droplet decreased as the diameter of the droplet and viscosity of the fluid (silicon oil) increased. To simulate the descending velocity of a water droplet in silicon oil under stirring conditions, the flow rate of the fluid (silicon oil) was measured by particle image velocimetry (PIV) methods. The calculation of the descending velocity of the water droplet was in good agreement with the measured values, with and without stirring a viscous silicone oil.

Engineering the polylactide via stereocomplexation with supercritical fluid (SCF) technology paved way to fabricate polymers with enhanced thermal and mechanical properties. We aimed to establish a SCF medium with excellent solubility for PLA without any additional solvent/co-solvent. We, therefore, employed supercritical dimethyl ether to synthesize 100% stereocomplex polylactide from high molecular weight homopolymers with an excellent yield. The remarkable solubility of the homopolymers in dimethyl ether is the key for quick conversion to s-PLA. This study proves a rapid synthesis route of dry s-PLA powder with sc-DME at 250 bar, $70^{\circ}C$ and 1.5 h, which are reasonably achievable processing parameters compared to the conventional methods. The degree of stereocomplexation was evaluated under the effect of pressures, temperatures, times, homopolymer-concentrations and molecular weights. An increment in the degree of stereocomplexation was observed with increased temperature and pressure. Complete conversion to s-PLA was obtained for PLLA and PDLA with $M_n{\sim}200kg{\cdot}mol^{-1}$ with a total homopolymer to total DME ratio of 6:100% w/w at prescribed reaction conditions. The degree of stereocomplexation was determined by DSC and confirmed by XRD. Considerable improvement in thermo-mechanical properties of s-PLA was observed. DSC and TGA analyses proved a $50^{\circ}C$ enhancement in melting transition and a high onset temperature for thermal degradation of s-PLA respectively.

Feedwater heaters of many nuclear power plants have recently experienced severe wall thinning damange, which will increase as operating time progresses. Several nuclear power plants in Korea have experienced wall thinning damage in the area around the impingement baffle inside feed-water heater installed downstream of the turbine extraction stream line. At that point, the extract steam from the turbine is two phase fluid at high temperature, high pressure, and high speed. Since it flows to reverse direction after impinging the impingement baffle, the shell wall of feedwater heaters may be affected by flow-accelerated corrosion. In this paper, to compare wall thinning range according to change entrance nozzle diameter and position with reference numerical analysis model's wall thinning range, various numerical analysis models applied. In case of changing diameter, four different diameter is applied. And a side of nozzle position, two different position-vertical type and parallel type-is applied. And then this paper describes operation of numerical analysis which is composed similar condition with real feed water heater. In conclusion, this study shows effective design for shall wall thinning by changing nozzle diameter and position.

When a sudden rupture occurs in high energy lines, ejection of inner fluid with high temperature and pressure causes blast wave as well as thrust forces on the ruptured pipe itself. The present study is to examine pipe whip behaviors and blast wave phenomena under postulated pipe break conditions. In this context, typical numerical models were generated by taking a MSL (Main Steam Line) piping, a steam generator and containment building. Subsequently, numerical analyses were carried out by changing break locations; one is pipe whip analyses to assess displacements and stresses of the broken pipe due to the thrust force. The other is blast wave analyses to evaluate the broken pipe due to the blast wave by considering the pipe whip. As a result, the stress value of the steam generator increased by about 7~21% and von Mises stress of steam generator outlet nozzle exceeded the yield strength of the material. In the displacement results, rapid movement of pipe occurred at 0.1 sec due to the blast wave, and the maximum displacement increased by about 2~9%.

Line heating is a forming process which makes the curved surface with the residual strain created by applying heat source of high temperature to steel plate. in order to control the residual strain, it is necessary to understand not only conductive heat transfer between heat source and steel plate, but also temperature distribution of steel plate. In this paper we attempted to analyze is temperature distribution of steel plate by simplifying a line heating process to collision-effusive flux of high temperature and high velocity, and conductive heat transfer phenomenon. To analyze this, combustion in the torch is simplified to collision effusive phenomenon before analyzing turbulent heat flux. The distribution of temperature field between the torch and steel plate is computed through turbulent heat flux analysis, and the convective heat transfer coefficient between effusive flux and steel plate is calculated using approximate empirical Nusselt formula. The velocity of heat flux into steel plate is computed using the temperature distribution and convective heat transfer coefficient, and temperature field in the steel plate is obtained through conductive heat transfer analysis in which the traction is induced by velocity of heat flux. In this study, Finite Element Method is used to accomplish turbulent heat flux analysis and conductive heat transfer analysis. FEA results are compared with empirical data to verify results.
