Amorphous In-Ga-Zn-O (a-IGZO) thin film transistors, because of their relatively low mobility, have limits in attempts to fulfill high-end specifications for display backplanes. In-Zn-O (IZO) is a promising semiconductor material for high mobility device applications with excellent transparency to visible light region and low temperature process capability. In this paper, the effects of working pressure on the physical and electrical properties of IZO films and thin film transistors are investigated. The working pressure is modulated from 2 mTorr to 5 mTorr, whereas the other process conditions are fixed. As the working pressure increases, the extracted optical band gap of IZO films gradually decreases. Absorption coefficient spectra indicate that subgap states increase at high working pressure. Furthermore, IZO film fabricated at low working pressure shows smoother surface morphology. As a result, IZO thin film transistors with optimum conditions exhibit excellent switching characteristics with high mobility (≥ 30㎠/Vs) and large on/off ratio.

The vaporization process of liquid oxygen(LOX) at high pressure environment is numerically investigated. The present vaporization model can account for the high-pressure effects such as ambient gas solubility, real gas behavior and variable properties. The predicted phase-equilibrium compositions for $N_2$/$H_2$ and $O_2$/He system are well agreed with experimental data. The LOX vaporization characteristics is parametrically studied for wide range of the operating conditions encountered in the high-pressure combustion process of liquid rocket engine.
SU-8 is an epoxy-type photoresist widely used for the fabrication of high-aspect-ratio (HAR) micro-structures in micro-electro-mechanical systems (MEMS). To fabricate highly integrated structures, chemical mechanical polishing (CMP) has emerged as the preferred manufacturing process for planarizing the MEMS structure. In SU-8 CMP, an oxidizer decomposes organic impurities and particles in the CMP slurry remove the chemically reacted surface of SU-8. To fabricate HAR microstructures using the CMP process, the adhesion between SU-8 and substrate material is important to avoid the delamination of the SU-8 film caused by the mechanical-dominant material removal characteristic. In this study, the friction force during the CMP process is measured with a CMP monitoring system to detect the delamination phenomenon and investigate the delamination of the SU-8 film from the silicon substrate under various pressure conditions. The increase in applied pressure causes an increase in the frictional force and wafer-edge stress concentration. The frictional force measurement shows that the friction force changes according to the delamination phenomenon of the SU-8 film, and that it is possible to monitor the delamination phenomenon during the SU-8 CMP process. The delamination at a high applied pressure is explained by the effect of stress distribution and pad deformation. Consequently, it is necessary to control the pressure of polishing, which can avoid the delamination in SU-8 CMP.

3-way ball valves have been mostly used for high temperature/high pressure valves using in petrochemical carriers and oil tankers, which requires high quality products with confidentiality and durability. As a larger disaster may be generated by leakage of oil or gas from valves, thus the present research applied a numerical analysis method with thermal-structural coupled field analysis and the performance test. The Max stress by parts was confirmed through thermal-structural coupled field analysis and develop the 3-way ball valve design, which is safe on operating condition. And its performance was verified by carrying out pressure test, leakage test and durability test for the manufactured 3-way ball valves with satisfying it's regulations.

We developed a method for improving the antioxidant activities of Citrus extracts through cyclic low pressure drying(CLPD) and a high hydrostatic pressure extraction (HPE) process. Citrus fruits were prepared for water extraction at $60^{\circ}C$ and 300 MPa for 5 min (high hydrostatic pressure extraction, HPE5) and 15 min (high hydrostatic pressure extraction, HPE15) after cyclic low pressure drying method. Extraction yields obtained by cyclic low pressure drying and high hydrostatic pressure extraction process were 20.41, 23.47, and 28.19%, respectively. Total polyphenol contents were increased by combined process. Generally, CLPD and HPE resulted in higher yields than the conventional extraction process. Further, HPE15 showed 48.21% DPPH radical scavenging activity (EDA, %) at $1,000{\mu}g/mL$. In general, antioxidant activities of Citrus increased by CLPD and HPE. Therfore, CLPD and HPE of Citrus resulted in higher antioxidant activity than conventional water extraction.

Chemical mechanical polishing(CMP) process is widely used for global planarization of inter-metal dielectric (IMD) layer and inter-layer dielectric (ILD) for deep sub-micron technology. However, as the IMD and ILD layer gets thinner, defects such as micro-scratch lead to severe circuit failure, which affect yield. In this paper, for the improvement of CMP Process, deionized water (DIW) pressure, purified $N_2$ (P$N_2$) gas, slurry filter and high spray bar were installed. Our experimental results show that DIW pressure and P$N_2$ gas factors were not related with removal rate, but edge hot-spot of patterned wafer had a serious relation. Also, the filter installation in CMP polisher could reduce defects after CMP process, it is shown that slurry filter plays an important role in determining consumable pad lifetime. The filter lifetime is dominated by the defects. However, the slurry filter is impossible to prevent defect-causing particles perfectly. Thus, we suggest that it is necessary to install the high spray bar of de-ionized water (DIW) with high pressure, to overcome the weak-point of slurry filter. Finally, we could expect the improvements of throughput, yield and stability in the ULSI fabrication process.

Molybdenum (Mo) is one of the representative refractory metals for its high melting point, superior thermal conductivity, low density and low thermal expansion coefficient. However, due to its high melting point, it is necessary for Mo products to be fabricated at a high sintering temperature of over $1800-2000^{\circ}C$. Because this process is expensive and inefficient, studies to improve sintering property of Mo have been researched actively. In this study, we fabricated Mo nanopowders to lower the sintering temperature of Mo and tried to consolidate the Mo nanopowders through ultra high pressure compaction. We first fabricated Mo nanopowders by a mechano-chemical process to increase the specific surface area of the Mo powders. This process includes a high-energy ball milling step and a reduction step in a hydrogen atmosphere. We compacted the Mo nanopowders with ultra high pressure by magnetic pulsed compaction (MPC) before pressureless sintering. Through this process, we were able to improve the green density of the Mo compacts by more than 20 % and fabricate a high density Mo sintered body with more than a 95 % sintered density at relatively low temperature.

The effects of change in injection pressure on spray structure have been investigated in high temperature and pressure field. To analyze the structure of evaporative diesel spray is important in speculation of mixture formation process. Also emissions of diesel engines can be controlled by the analyzed results. Therefore, this study examines the evaporating spray structure by using a constant volume vessel. The injection pressure is selected as the experimental parameter, is changed from 72 MPa to 112 MPa with a high pressure injection system(ECD-U2). The PIV(Particle Image Velocimetry) technique was used to capture flow variation of the evaporative diesel spray. A study on the mixture formation process of diesel spray was executed by the results of flow analysis in this study. Consequentially the large-scale vortex flow could be found in downstream spray and the formed vortex governs the mixture formation process in diesel spray.

This study analyzed the deformation behavior of the high density polyethylene (HDPE) bottle in the blow molding process. We carried out finite element (FE) simulations using ANSYS Polyflow. First, the axisymmetric model was executed by 2D FE-simulation to determine the change of bottle wall thickness during the molding process. Then, the square model of the bottle was executed by 3D FE-simulation to gauge the effects of gas pressure on the change of wall thickness. The experiment results showed that the FE-simulations were able to upgrade the quality of the HDPE bottle in the blow molding process. These results can be used as guidance in adjusting gas pressure, as well as be extended for further study to determine process parameters such as temperatures, forming velocity, parison shape, etc.
