저밀도 세라믹 필터의 고온 여과 성능시험에 관한 연구 (A Study on the High Temperature Filtration Performance Test of Low Density Ceramic Filters)

  • Hot gas filtration method via using ceramic filters is an evolving technology applicable to numerous industrial and air pollution control processes. Alumino silicate, organic and inorganic binders were the major raw materials in manufacturing ceramic filters. In this work, disc type ceramic filters(50$\phi$$\times$10t) were manufactured by vacuum forming processes using ceramic raw materials. The porosity and bulk density of disc type ceramic filers ranged from 86 to 89% and from 0.27 to 0.36 g/㎤, respectively. In this work disc type ceramic medium were tested utilizing coupon experimental apparatus. Disc type filters showed high collection efficiencies over 99.96% with Darchs law coefficients of 4.1$\times$10(sup)10~9.63$\times$10(sup)10/$m^2$ depending on mean pore sizes. In addition, filtration and detachment of ceramic filters turned out to be performed effectively using 10 cm/sec face velocity, 5 minutes filtration cycle, 100msec pulse jet valve opening time and 3 bar pulsing pressure.

  • Recently, use of composite materials has been increasing for body structures and chassis parts in the car industry because of weight reduction effect and excellent mechanical thermal characteristics. However, application of composite materials in brake system is very difficult because it is hard to obtain enough brake performance due to low heat storage capacity of the composite materials. In this paper, we will present new carbon ceramic composite disc with high flow characteristic. To obtain this characteristic, new vent structures were designed by using ARIZ method and substance-field model analysis. The flow effect of these vent structures on the brake performance was verified by pugh matrix and cooling test. The test results show improvement of cooling performance up to $30^{\circ}C$. Finally, These results will improve brake the reliability of the brake performance for the high performance vehicles and electric vehicles.

  • To determine the concentrations of microcystins present in lake water or in tap water using high performance liquid chromatography, it is necessary to concentrate a large volume of water samples (about 20 L) into very small volume (0.1-0.3 mL). Concentration can be conveniently done when disc type solid phase extraction (SPE) apparatus is used. Using this apparatus we have investigated the recovery rates of three kinds of microcystins, RR, YR, LR. The recovery rates were relatively low and the reproducibilities were not good either. It is expected, however, that the appropriate selection of the disc conditioning and eluting solvents and reproducible reconcentration process after SPE will improve both the recovery rates and the reproducibilities.

  • Swing check valves are the most common type of check valve in nuclear power plant and need to be operated property to perform their functions and to keep the valve internals stable. However, for a swing check valve disc to remain stable, the opening characteristics should be identified and the upstream flow velocity should be enough to hold the disc fully open and without motion. Thus it is necessary to develop a model for predicting the flow velocity for a given disc opening. In the present study, the disc positions with mean flow velocity were measured for 3 inch and 6 inch swing check valves. Comparison of the measurements with the existing models showed that the models underestimate the mean flow velocity for a given disc position. Therefore, the existing model for predicting swing check valve disc position was improved with the realistic disc impingement area perpendicular to the flow stream and the experimental data. The result showed that the improved model with the best estimate of kb = 0.04 predicts well the disc openings of 6 inch swing check valve, especially in the low velocity region. For better prediction of the disc opening at high flow velocity, however, it is recommended to develop a kb correlation with the disc angle.

중형 상용차 통풍형 브레이크 디스크의 제동 시 열 유동 및 변형 해석 (Thermal Fluid Flow and Deformation Analysis of Medium Commercial Vehicle Ventilated Brake Disc in Braking)

  • Domestic automobile companies have adopted drum type brake system for commercial vehicles. However recently those companies have been applying disc-brake system to solve vehicle control-instability and inefficient heat discharge performance of conventional drum brake system for a medium commercial vehicle. Because the kinetic energy of a running commercial vehicle is relatively high, the brake system should discharge lots of heat energy while braking. A ventilated type brake disc has been used to increase heat discharge performance of a brake system. The vent structure of a disc highly affects cooling efficiency. This paper compares thermal characteristics of three types of vent structure in JASO C421 braking condition. It is found that the slant bend type disc has the lowest temperature and thermal stress distributions in the braking condition.

TPO 시트재와 유도가열공법을 적용한 고내풍성 지붕마감 공법 (The Roofing System of High wind-Resistant Performance using Thermoplastic polyolefin and Electromagnetic Induction Technology)

  • Strong winds according to global warming cause the increase of the frequency and the repair cost of damaged roofs. In the United States, Factory Mutual Insurance Company(FMIC) promotes the roofing design that resists heavy wind-load, as the means of strict criteria. This fact reveals that more durable roofing system will be also required in Korea. Therefore, this study aims at developing such a system with high wind-resistance performance using Thermoplastic polyolefin(TPO) and Electromagnetic induction technology(EIT) than the previous systems. The system presented in this study consists of 4 main devices as follow; 1) a disc to fix sheets for TPO & EIT method, which can conduct structural design according to site condition, such as region, building height, and wind load. 2) a nail to have about 30% stronger lifting-up capacity than that of the previous nail. 3) a disc to fix sheets, which has triangle protuberance not to damage sheets in the repeatable wind load, and 4) a electromagnetic induction device to combine a disc and a sheet by heating uniformly and quickly adhesive agent on the disc. The results of mock-up test illustrate that the system provides wind-resistant performance to achieve satisfactorily the structural design criteria of FMIC. In addition, the system is faster, chipper, and easier than the existing system, and is expected that this roofing system can be applied to the rehabilitations of an existing as well as a new building.

하이브리드형 광픽업 액추에이터의 고온특성 (Characteristics of Hybrid Optical Pickup Actuator at High Temperature)

  • A new type actuator has been designed and investigated to overcome thermal problems in slim optical disc drive which is adopted in mobile storage devices. Recently, in optical storage device technical trends, the size of optical disc drives is slimmer to adopt notebook computer and the spindle rotate velocity is faster to achieve high transfer rate and the power of actuator is higher to perform tilting, etc. However, these trends of optical disc drives tend to raise the environment temperature of drives, actuator power and parts temperature. Moreover, it is more difficult to remove the heat inside a drive and the temperature of an actuator increases and drive slims. As a result, increase of surface temperature of actuator body caused that second resonance of an actuator moves down to a lower frequency band and the performance of optical parts also deteriorates. Especially objective lens, coil and magnet of the actuator parts are easily damaged. To manage these thermal problems, in this paper an actuator with a hybrid blade, which is composed of vectra which has low thermal conductivity and magnesium which has high thermal conductivity, has been suggested and verified. Despite the high temperature environment, the proposed actuator showed good dynamic performance.

  • In general, the braking system of high speed train has an important role for the safety of the train. To stop safely the train at its pre-decided position, it is necessary to combine property the various brakes. Generally high speed train has adopted a combined electrical and mechanical (friction) braking system. Electrical brakes are consist of rheostatic brake, regenerative brake and eddy current brake and mechanical brakes are composed of disc brake, wheel disc brake and tread brake. In this paper, we introduce braking performance analysis and inspection though simulation and research to reduce braking distance.

세라믹 디스크의 표면 개질에 따른 마찰 마모 특성 (Tribological Properties of C-SiC Brake Discs with Surface Modifications)

  • Tribological properties of ceramic brake discs were investigated using a commercial friction material. The discs were manufactured by liquid silicon infiltration (LSI) into a C-C preform. The disc surface was modified by two different methods, producing sliding surfaces with chopped carbon fibers and carbon felt. In addition, the composition of the surface was also changed. Friction characteristics of the discs were examined using a 1/5 scale dynamometer. Results showed that the type and composition of the disc surface significantly affected the level of braking effectiveness and high temperature brake performance. The discs with felt surfaces showed higher friction levels than those with chopped fiber surfaces and SiC tended to increase the friction level while C lowered the friction coefficient. The ceramic disc was more sensitive to the deceleration rate than gray iron, showing high speed sensitivity.

수평 원형 디스크가 로딩된 반원 디스크 초광대역 모노폴 안테나 (Vertically Half Disc-Loaded Ultrawideband Monopole Antenna (VHDMA) with Horizontally Top-Loaded Small Disc)

  • 본 논문에서는 반원형 및 반타원형 디스크가 급전점에 수직으로 로딩된 단순한 광대역 모노폴 안테나 구조에 급전점에는 추가적인 공진 구조를, 수직 모노폴 안테나의 끝단에는 수평으로 추가적인 소형 디스크가 로딩되는 초광대역 안테나의 특성에 관하여 시뮬레이션과 측정이 수행되었다. 설계된 초광대역 송신용 안테나로부터 가우시안 펄스의 전달 특성에 관하여 살펴보며 제안된 안테나의 수평방향을 단면으로 보았을 경우의 복사패턴이 등방향성 응답을 가짐을 알 수 있었다. 더욱이, 측정 및 시뮬레이션 결과로부터 소형이면서 광대역 특성을 보임을 알 수 있다. 제안된 수평방향의 소형 디스크가 장착된 반원형 디스크 모노폴 안테나의 측정결과로부터, 크기와 전기적인 성능 측면에서 살펴보았을 때 제안된 구조가 단순히 원형 디스크가 수직으로 로딩된 모노폴 안테나에 비해 견줄만 함을 알 수 있었다. 특히 본 논문을 통하여 제작된 안테나는 PCB를 이용한 프린팅 안테나에서 자주 발생되는 표면파 손실 및 유전체 손실과 같은 현상이 발생되지 않으므로 Return Loss의 성능이 곧 복사되는 효율과 밀접한 관계가 있다.
