  • Orthostatic intolerance is defined as the development of various symptoms during standing that are relieved by recumbency. Postural tachycardia syndrome (POTS) is another nomenclature of orthostatic intolerance. POTS characterized by a heart rate increase ${\geq}30$ bpm from supine to standing or >120 bpm at standing without orthostatic hypotension. POTS is a heterogenous in presentation with various pathophysiologic mechanisms. Important mechanisms are hypovolemia, denervation, hyperadrenergic and deconditioning state. There are presented as lightheadness or dizziness, palpitations, presyncope, sense of weakness, tremulousness, shortness of breath. POTS are classified under 3 groups that are neuropathic, hyperadrenergic, and deconditioning POTS. Most patients can be improved from a pathophysiologically based regimen of management.

  • As the web technologies advance, most of applications have being developed as web applications. The web has advantages of high interoperability due to the web standards though the applications run on heterogenous platforms. However, as the systems are growing and have some interoperability problems, the government and the big companies require interoperability testing for new systems. In this paper, we introduce some interoperability issues for web applications and classify them into three groups according to 3-tier client/server architecture. We also propose interoperability testing process and tasks to be performed at each step in the process.

  • Congenital cystic adenomatoid malformation [CCAM] of the lung is extremely rare. The patient was 10 year old female and had no specipic signs and symptoms except right lower chest pain for 5 days ago before admission. On simple chest X-ray and thoracic CT scan, about 9x8x8cm sized, heterogenous marginal enhanced multiseparated hypodence lesion with air fluid level and gas bubbles in posterior pleural space in right lower chest .The culture result of needle aspiration of cavity was apergillus flavus. Right lower lobectomy was carried out and the result of biopsy was congenital cystic adenomatoid malformation.

  • CALS is recognized as a national response to the new chapter of information society. It is essential that the standardization in Korea should be constructed compatible with not only domestic but also international standardization trend. This study aims to propose a proper direction of CALS standardization in Korea, based on the international CALS standardization movement. This paper classifies standard into five types and provides a proper direction and guidance far each standard. As a trend of CALS standard, all ten data files are converted using SGML standard far the interchangeability of data among heterogenous systems. CAD and Graphic data arc also moving toward to the STEP as their standard. In this regard, this paper discusses how to implement SGML and STEP Model. Finally, this paper proposes a method how to construct an EDI system with CALS standard and how to establish a standard authorization institute which will be responsible far the standard authorization. Furthermore, this paper also proposes the CALS Test Network (CTN) as its experimental method.

  • Unite cell of soid oxide fuel cell (SOFC) that consists of a dense yttria-stabilized zirconia(YSZ) electrolyte a porous nickel-YSZ cermet anode and a porous strontium- doped lanthanum manganate(LSM) cathod was fabricated from using pore former through co-firing technique. Initial sintering shrinkage rates of each layer were identified for fabricating SOFC. Heterogenous sintering was very effective in tailoring shrinkage rate for three layers. The powder tailoring necessary for shrinkage rate matching are as follows ; electrolyte of 60% TZ8YS/ 40% TZ8Y mixture anode of 51wt% NiO/49 wt% (70wt% TZ8YS/30 wt% UT ZrO2) mixture and cathode of 80% LSM/20% UT ZrO2 mixture . The overall sintering shrinkage rate differences of three layers using these compositions were maintained in a few percent.

  • The network encironment includes a number of autonomous agents which are widely distributed, have different platforms, and change very dynamically. The information system operated on this environment must solve some basic problems; restrictive client-server models, heterogeneous systems, and intellignet agents. We are using KQML for knowledge management. Java language provides solutions against a strong server dependency and a heterogenous troubles. We introduce KQML as an agent communication language and JATLite as a java agent template. these increase an efficiency of communication on network and enable us to use resources distributed in world wide web. Also, we describe a new agent system architecture and implement it through an example scenario

  • The incidence of diastematomyelia associated with teratoma is extremely rare. We present a case of sacrococcygeal teratoma in a neonate with split spinal cord malformation[SSCM]. Magnetic resonance imaging[MRI] showed a heterogenous mass lesion with cyst in the sacrococcygeal region and multiple spinal anormalies [diastematomyelia, tethered cord, hydromyelia, and hemivertebrae]. The mature teratoma was confirmed on histopathological examination. In SSCMs, the potential for coexisting congenital anomalies at separate levels of the spinal cord must be considered in radiological investigations.

  • We report a case of a 67-year-old woman with giant cell tumor of the temporal bone. A 67-year-old woman presented with localized tenderness, swelling, sensory dysesthesia, dizziness, and headache over the left temporal bone. She was neurologically intact except left hearing impairment, with a nonmobile, tender, palpable mass over the left temporal area. A brain computed tomography(CT) scans showed a relatively well defined heterogenous soft tissue mass with multiple intratumoral cyst and radiolucent, osteolytic lesions involving the left temporal bone. The patient underwent a left frontotemporal craniotomy and zygoma osteotomy with total mass removal. Permanent histopathologic sections revealed a giant cell tumor. She remains well clinically and without tumor recurrence at 2 years after total resection.

  • A device driver is the core construction providing connectable rules between a hardware and an operating system in Embedded softwares. It provides consistent interface for the control and mutual interactions so that an application program can use hardware's functionalities. However, the device driver is suffered to develop as it is related to both hardware and software and it is also wasted to newly develop whenever hardware platform changed. Therefore, this paper researches the method to provide high portability in heterogenous hardware and finally suggests efficient device driver development.

  • Condensation particle counter (CPC) has been one of the most important basic instrument for measuring number concentration of submicron aerosols. The principle of the CPC is to expose aerosols to a supersaturated vapor and cool down which causes adiabatic expansion. The particles grow by heterogenous nucleation to a sufficient size for easy detection by optical method. However, for growth by condensation, CPC essentially needs both saturater and condensor causing a heavy system. Therefore, it is hard to install commercial CPC to tethered balloon package system. In this study, we developed customized CPC for tethered balloon package system called Hy-CPC which is lighter and smaller in structure than commercial CPCs, and evaluated activation efficiency and detection efficiency by Hy-CPC using electrostatic method (electrometer and Faraday cup).
